Per Cyberverse, Alchemist Prime is revealed to be Maccadam. It could be his real name or an assumed name, but I prefer to think of it as his real name.

Maccadam is obviously an assumed named. Alchemist Prime has to be his real name unless the original 13 weren't always Primes...

Then again... the Citizens of Iaconus in that flash back all look like him so maybe in Cyberverse the original Primes weren't always Primes? Maybe they didn't even exist at the same time cause Optimus seems to be the 13th but wasn't aware that Maccadam was Alchemist. I am rather confused about that.

Honestly, Alchemist is just so generic that I'd rather that be the alias rather than the other way around.

I didn't know there were others here too that aren't too fond of Alpha. I always disliked his role for similar reasons I can't stand the Allspark (the McGuffin).
Seeing Tyrest/Solomus as one of the stained glass windows following other Primes in idw2 makes me wonder whether they plan on making him a Prime of the past here. Wouldn't complain, the Guiding Hand was a bit much and I already hinted that most of the 13 have the personality of a blank paper sheet. Tyrest at least had a very cool design and I even found his role and guilt problem pretty interesting.

I have way fewer Primes than 13. Even then, the having Optimus in there and him being modern day always made me think like "shouldn't it just be 12?" I feel like six is the magic number because that's just around the number of core cast members in most modern series and that most Primes can be combined with one another to not only make their abilities but their roles more interesting. Also, there doesn't need to be more than one "devil" Prime.

They also aren't deities in the way that they are typically presented as. A Prime is simply someone with a certain spark-type, this typically coming at birth. A Prime is also not necessarily stronger than other bots, with Megatron being an example of someone who can best a modern day Prime. Some of the old Primes are larger than what you would normally see, but this again is not a trait unique to a Prime. The old Primes are a group of great minds whom came together to usher in a golden age of technology and living quality before in-fighting and mere Cybertronian nature brought in the Dark Age which gave rise to the Autobot-Decepticon War.

    Those top minds are:

    - Alpha Trion. He spent his early days chronicling the failings of civilizations past and present. He was not able to do this on his own, so he required the aid of Onyx Prime, Solus Prime, Micronus Prime and Gigawatt/Vector Prime.

Onyx was a mystic whom spent the better part of his life attuning himself to life, nature and the Spark. Amongst those following the same path was Micronus Prime, a small entity with a cool head whom allowed Onyx to look past his rage and become attuned to his Spark—granting seemingly supernatural senses of (Spider Sense style) precognition and creation of life. With the Solus and Micronus, Onyx programmed mass shifting into Vector Sigma, the source of all Transformer life.

Solus is the single greatest inventor in Cybertron's history. With her intuitive mind and vast creativity, she not only discovered the Transformers' innate ability to divide into two (eventually giving rise to Headmasters and Duocons) and revolutionized space travel, but also developed the Forge. This item is capable of alchemy, transmitting matter and also forming it into any shape. She had difficulty creating it at first, but once she did it unlocked many, many possibilities. She developed the Matrix of Leadership, Star Saber, Prime Masters (with Onyx's aid), Requiem Cannon and a vast array of weaponry and tools. She built the archive in which Trion's documents are stored.

Finally, there's Vector. Vector is a heroic figure, being a bot willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good and defend it to the very end. Impassioned by Alpha Trion's goal to bring about a greater society and inspired by the great minds he was presented with, Vector took part in the very risky experiments involving time travel. Only with him were the Primes capable to develop time travel. This brought about unprecedented freedom to study and learn about the past and the future.

For his bravery, Vector was upgraded using the Matrix of Leadership from his prior form as Gigawatt into his larger stronger form known to be Vector Prime. He took his name from the source of all Transformer life—Vector Sigma and became the de facto leader of the Prime Coalition.

Unfortunately, Vector Prime saw a dark future ahead when he traveled forward in time. One where there wasn't a sign of the others or him aside from some vague talk about the Primes. Many seemed to speak of them with doubt, speaking even of their murders.

Vector and Alpha Trion searched for reasons why their goals may fail, concluding that they simply weren't charismatic enough to start a full revolution. Solus Prime as kind as she was, was married to her work and often sealed herself away from others beside close friends such as Onyx and Micronus. Onyx was a hermit with a fearsome reputation. Micronus was doubted and mocked for his small stature. Vector came across as artificial to the populace and holier-than-thou. Trion was dry as a bone.

Enter, Liege Maximo. Energetic, humorous and confident. He was what the others were looking for. A public face, the key to the golden age.

Naturally, this all went fell apart because Maximo is a liar. Not only that, but the others quickly grew tired of his vain personality, easy ability to get his way and arrogance. So, he was murdered and the crime was covered up as being done by "The Fallen"—a name that would go down in infamy.

    Shorter version:

    1) Alpha Trion. Archeologist and historian looking to bring prosperity through knowledge. Needed the aid of the others to finish the job. Calm, soft-spoken.

    2) Onyx Prime. Spiritual leader whom had innate knowledge of life and the Spark. Kind but fearsome and reclusive.

    3. Micronus Prime. Expert on mass manipulation and spiritual guide. Well measured and wise but also reclusive.

    4. Solus Prime. Inventor, capable of amazing feats of science and engineering including the ability to alter elements into others. Creator of all relics including the Matrix. A kind soul but very invested in her work to the point of obsession even and also irritable.

    5. Vector Prime. Previously known as Gigawatt, he is the first non-Prime upgraded by the Matrix into a Prime. He was elected their leader after aiding in the completion of time travel technology, showing bravery and self-sacrifice in the process.

    6. Liege Maximo. Liege Maximo was chosen as the face of the Primes because of his charisma after the Primes began to fear that their efforts would fail. Unfortunately, Liege Maximo was a greedy and deceitful individual who turned the populace against him prior to being murdered by one of the fellow Primes.

The fact that your Primes are born as a spark type reminds me of how in Japanese Beasy Wars, Convoys were built as Convoy-types.

So... I never did list the Primes from my fan fiction...

    Optimus Prime

Rodimus Prime (While this takes place in the G1 continuity Rodimus Prime does not have the Matrix anymore. He was rebuilt with a new head sculpt to resemble Optimus. Part of the story is my own interpretation of how the Council of Primes/Convoy Council from Beast Wars was originally formed. And it was Hot Rod's idea for all the Primes on the council to be rebuilt with Optimus style heads in tribute to him.)

Primal Prime (The first Maximal who is actually a time traveling Optimus Primal. In the fan fiction Optimus and Megatron didn't actually die at the end of Beast Machines. They time traveled to the past. Optimus got his Optimal Optimus body back and Megatron turned into his Botcon RID2001 body. They decided to call him Primal Prime because it was two confusing having two Optimus' running around at the same time.)

Omega Prime (Who is actually Omega Supreme.)

Nemesis Prime (I'm not going to tell you anything about this character here because SPOILERS... There's a reveal about who he turns out to be later in the story and I don't want to give it away as it's pretty important to the plot. I will say he's later renamed the Headmaster because his original body is based on Armada Nemesis Prime and after the events of Beast Machines he builds a new body based on Armada Sideways but with three different heads that swap out based on which of his three personalities are fronting. Nemesis Prime and the other two that I'm not going to mention here... instead of addressing them by three different names because the Decepticons don't care to learn their names... they just refer to them as Headmaster.)

Vector Prime (Again, he's a rebuilt Alpha Trion. The reason he's called Vector Prime is because I haven't undone the events of Key to Vector Sigma. He's still part of Vector Sigma now, that's why he has that name, but he now has a new body rather than the computer body.)

Sentinel Prime (The leader of the Autobots before Optimus who was thought to be dead.)

    And of course...

Saber Prime (Again I'm not going to give too much information about him because it's a spoiler moment in the story as to who he actually is... though it's not quite as big of a spoiler as Nemesis Prime... I've kind of already mentioned in another thread when I was talking about an early rough draft that Saber Prime's character had completely changed from the original story which wasn't even always in the G1 continuity... to what it is now. I will say... there's a plot device called "The Sword of Primus" formed by Requiem, Skyboom, and Astrostar, though no one is aware of this till much later.)

Each of the Primes have a different job and lead their own teams of Autobots... or Maximals...

Saber Prime's team consists entirely of fan characters and you can probably guess the rest of them. Besides the three I already mentioned there's also a Junkion named Kicker and a yet to be named team member I was in the process of designing when I stopped writing... The idea was for a giant Autobot that could act as their space ship like Animated Omega Supreme. I was kind of imagining the vehicle mode being very similar to the Ark except with a giant Autobot insignia... Specifically Saber Prime's insignia which is unique from the other Autobots having a Sword in the design...

It's a lot harder to do the ship... all the other designs were basically taking existing models and recoloring them, maybe changing the head sculpt... but there's no real Transformering space ship toy I really like to act as the ship... I was thinking about Titans Return Sentinel Prime at one point but his transformation is a bit too simplistic with most of the top of the vehicle mode not really doing much for the robot mode. I was hoping the red from the insignia would be broken up so it's not just a giant yellow robot. I want that red to be spread out across the robot.

Spark Armor wouldn't really work either since it only forms armor around Optimus and doesn't have his own independent robot mode.

I also stopped writing because I had intended to do a SG crossover at some point but was having trouble figuring out what would actually cause the rift in the SG universe.

I'm also going to mention that Nemesis Prime ends up joining a crew of fan characters who are all named after Animated human villains but are actually Cybertronians in this story.

Meltdown, the leader (Based on War Within the Fallen with a different color scheme)

Cyrus Rhodes/Colossus Rhodes (Second in command, based on Armada Rollout and Overload respectively. Instead of growing in muscle mass he's a tiny Decepticon with non-sentient armor upgrade.)

Master Disaster (A Decepticon based on G1 Menasor with BW Cohrada's head sculpt except he's not exactly a typical combiner. He's more like Overlord, the Duocons, or Magmatron in that even while separated the components are still all controlled by a single spark. All six of the head sculpts look like Cohrada, This was done to reference the snake design on his helmet.)

Slo-Mo (Who is actually the "daughter" of Optimus Prime and Elita-One, which just means they built her. No robot sex happened in the making of Slo-Mo. She was originally an Autobot before joining the Decepticons.)

Nanosec (Based on the Armada Blurr mold.)

Angry Archer (Based on Hot Rod though I redesigned the spoiler fin on the car so that would actually be storage for his bow. And his one miscolored arm was taken from an Autobot he killed. Sort of like Lockdown.)

Professor Princess/Powdered Sugar (Is the one Predacon on the team based on Mach Kick. She actually has two different personality states. Professor Princess, the robot will often speak to the beast mode head on her right arm calling it Powedered Sugar. In beast form she's more like an actual horse. She doesn't seem aware that she's even transforming at all and acts more like she's mounting or getting off her horse is if the robot and beast are entirely separate from each other in her mind even though they're both sharing the same body. Her mind is like this because she's a failed early experiment at Predacons scanning organic alternate modes.)

    Let's see...

Prima, the first born / built. Often viewed as the 'leader' of the thirteen. Possibly a 'template' for future "Prime" figures.

Xal Maximus, the first Decepticon, a true war machine. Over time he develops his own beliefs and ideology that will someday sprout into Decepticonism. Easily one of the most feared and powerful of the Thirteen, ends up betraying his creator and siblings. Chooses to pursue his own goals, opposing both Primus and Unicron.

Vector Prime, appointed guardian of time and space and serves an ancient entity known as the Chronarchitect. Disciplined and wise, but as soon as his fellows begin turning against eachother for increasingly petty reasons he isolates himself and simply wishes to observe, stepping in at times of great disaster that have the potential to create 'waves' throughout the multiverse.

Alchemist Prime, as his name implies dabbles in alchemy. He's close friends with Alpha Trion and near the beginning of the 'golden age' he'd choose to alter his appearance and live among 'mortals' as Maccadam. Only Alpha Trion knows that this lowly bar tender is in fact one of the oldest (and maybe most powerful) members of their species. He has kind of a Buddha-like appearance and demeanor.

Nexus Maximus, the first Combiner. His individual parts don't really have personhood and it seems his combined form is his 'main' form. During the great falling out, his body is forcibly de-constructed and each limb is sent somewhere far away. I was thinking of including a reference to the Enigma without including it since I think it's a dumb macguffin, in the form of the component that allows for combining is ripped from him and discarded somewhere, and decades later it's discovered by Cybes and since they don't know what it was used for they dub it "the enigma".

Solus Prime is basically Hephaestus, if he were a motherly borderline goddess-like figure. Not much of a fighter, but is very good with her hands and forge. Is probably responsible for building or at least designing some of the most important objects for later generations. The most maternal out of all the thirteen, and can pretty much get along with all of them. She seems to have the power to put anyone, including Xal and ____ at ease so they feel able to open up to her about things.

Modus Prime, the first Mini-Con. Despite his small form he carries a lot of energy, and is able to give his larger siblings a boost in power.

Onyx Prime, the first pretender. A proud and disciplined warrior, he feels most at ease either when he's training or in a combat situation.

Logos Prime the mystic, probably the most religious out of all his siblings. Very pious and reminiscent of a priest or monk. Is also one of the main 'scribes' of the Covenant. Has an avian companion that often simply keeps an eye on the planet and his siblings while he toils away in his temple.

Amalgamous Prime the trickster. Incredibly playful and light-hearted, is often in a constant form of configuration from one form (including matter) to another. Is sometimes jokingly referred to as a 'miracle of Adaptus' due to how complex his transformations can become. Though when it's time to get serious he can at will take on any properties he desires, make himself super heavy, or fluid like water. Despite his bubbly demeanor he's probably the most sensitive of all the Thirteen and is gutted when they begin drifting apart.

Leonicus, the first beast. Very attuned to the natural world, is more of a loner when compared to the others. Is able to take the form of a lion-like beast, and whereas his siblings are all mostly mechanical, he has a body with organic elements.

Autonomous Maximus, the silent guardian. A colossus tasked to be the final defense against disaster that could befall their species. Could be seen as the archetypal titan or precursor to the omega sentinels. Despite being mute he seems very capable of understanding what he's told, and almost seems to have a supernatural ability to appear when he's needed most.

The final member has more or less been scrubbed from their history due to his sins. Possibly given the heaviest burden of all the Thirteen, the power over entropy and inevitable death of matter and all things. Xal over time 'befriends' him in order to feed into the fallen's delusions and paranoia about how the others view him. His relationships with the others are a bit strained, but Solus Prime goes out of her way to try and make sure the Fallen knows that he's loved, and that regardless of what happens they'll always be there to help him and support him. If it weren't for Solus he would have 'fell from grace' much sooner. Xal over time makes him believe Primus gave him this burden as a punishment and that makes him a prime target for Unicron and his dark pantheon to worm their way into his mind and make him feel like he belongs with them, rather than with his siblings and Primus.

His original name was Metatron (very much alluding to the biblical figure of the same name), which in their verbiage is meant to mean a being of light, due to him being associated with fire. But as soon as he devoted himself to Unicron, and the death of all things he became "The Fallen". Saying his original name is considered a bad omen, and is one reason why Megatron's name is so feared.

Xal manipulates Metatron and stokes the flames of his inner weakness and fragile psyche to lead to a big falling out between between the thirteen, and at the end of it all he simply takes what he wants and disappears. Xal views both Primus and Unicron as false gods because at the end of the day what Xal is more than anything else is a nihilist.

While Primus and his fellow members of the guiding hand ultimately choose to willingly forfeit their existence so future generations can flourish off their sacrifices, each with a gift to help their 'offspring' move forward, Unicron violently turns on his fellow 'dark gods' after one of them (based on the biblical figure Lilith) plots to turn them against each other so she can take the 'throne' for herself.

You forgot about the one and only Bendy-Bus Prime.

Anywho, in my fanfic, Prima isn't the leader of the Primes. That would be Autonomous Maximus, AKA the Last Autobot, AKA the Thirteenth Prime. Prima was a knight, the first Knight of Cybertron. Quintus Prime is actually Alpha Quintesson in disguise as a Prime, remaining on Cybertron in that disguise after the other Quintessons fled after the Primes revolted and fended them off. Prima somewhat resembles the Protoform Optimus Prime toy, except the head is replaced with a head resembling the helmet of a medieval knight.

How does changing Prime to Primal make him not a Prime? Primal is just Prime-al. But I do think Primal should be the moniker for any Beastformers.

I like the concept art but I'm not really into the idea of Onyx being the first Pretender when he's already the first Beastformer.

A lot of the Primes are the first of something but then there are guys like Alchemist who's just sort of there. I never knew how to classify him. Maybe he could be a Pretender?

I gave 'the first beast' moniker to Leonicus instead, but I still liked Onyx Prime and since I wanted to differentiate him from the Aligned character I kept the centaur form but gave him a new role / title. Admittedly some of these ideas are more rough than others, I should probably think more about the role each of them would serve.

The Age of Unification - Primes are titles given to leaders of various warbands who take the mark of the Guiding Hand, lesser warlords often took the title falsely. Only thirteen are known in total, though it is likely thousands were in existence
    Official Primes:
    • Prima - Last known Consul of Iacon. Badge of office is the Blade Stellar, an ancient relic from the Dark Ages said to have killed the king of the Great Beasts
    • Vector Prime - Last known Cryptek of the Well, or the high-Priest of the tribes surrounding the hot-spots across the planet. Badge of office is the Tempormortis, a censure that will never go out until the last Cybertronian is forged
    • Solus Prime - Last known Forge-Mistress of the Crystal City. Badge of office is known as Adaptus' Folly, a massive shock-hammer purported to have been used to kill the Lord of Change
    • Alchemist Prime - Last known Ambassador Primus of the Pious Pools. Badge of office is the Helm of Truth, which is said to see the imperfection in all weaponry.
    • Nexus Prime - Last known Fabricator-General of the Core, or the tribes that dwelled beneath Cybertron's surface within the catacombs of the Ancients. Badge of office is the Staff of the Eternals, a force-stave that was touched by Epistemus
    • Onyx Prime - Last known Lord of Nova Point. Badge of office is the Gauntlet Singular, a Guiding Hand-era powered gauntlet that was said to have terraforming capabilities
    • Amalgamous Prime - Last known Lord of Alyon. Badge of office is the Armor of Entropy, said to be forged by Mortilus' hand
    • Quintus Prime - Last known Stellar Liege of the Drifter Clans of the various artificial satellites of Cybertron. Badge of Office is the Flying Dutchman, a Guiding Hand-era void runner with a functioning close-range subspace-shunt
    • The Arisen - No records known, only mentioning in passing as "The Chosen of the Light". Famed to be uniter of Cybertron in the end of the Age of Unification
    Lesser Warlords:
    • Alpha Trion - Revered as the Holy Scribe, he has no tribe of his own but claims all of Cybertron as "his children." Left Cybertron during the Unification Age but has been reportedly seen at battlefields across the galaxy.
    • Micronus - Ruler of the Lunar Tribes. In actuality split between three rulers, Primus, Secundus, and Tertius, whose badges of offices are identical azure headpieces with inlayed Nucleon in the center.
    • The Liege Maximo - Title given to the ruler of the Forgotten Plains that cover the southern pole of Cybertron. Badge of office is the Cloak of House Feltrain, an ancient order linked to the downfall of Solomus.
    • The Lord Xal - Title given to the High Chieftain of the Darklands at the northern pole of Cybertron. Badge of office is a set of claws said to be forged by "the light of Unicron"
The Age of Peace - The title of Prime is mainly done away with, with the Grand Imperium supplanting them as the Golden Age sets in
    • The Arisen - No records known, only mentioning in passing as "The Chosen of the Light". Famed to be uniter of Cybertron
    • The Council of Ancients - Ruled for most of the Age of Peace. 10 Elders as representatives of the Nine High Polities. Served as the upper house of the Grand Imperium, speaking for Cybertron on a galactic stage while the Cybertronian Senate dealt with domestic issues.
    • Nominus Prime - Elected Prime in the wake of the Trinary War as Cybertronians see the need for a central leader. Former Lord High Commander of the Cybertronian Armed Forces. Killed in the Grand Uprising as Cybertron's various colonies rebelled amidst calls of unequal representation.
The Age of War - The title of Prime is given to those chosen by the newly discovered Matrix of Leadership as dictated by the strictures of the Order of the Tempormortis
    • Sentinel Zeta Prime - Prime in the wake of the Grand Uprising, chosen by the Order of the Tempormortis to hold the Matrix. Unifier of the Greater Hadean sector into Cybertronian control. Killed in the destruction of the Grand Imperium by rogue elements of the Cybertronian Naval Forces under the jurisdiction of Liason Officer Primus Codename "Starscream", who is believed to be allied with the Traitoris Maximus known as Megatron
    • Optimus Prime - Current Prime in the Age of War, selected by the Order of the Tempormortis to hold the Matrix in the wake of the destruction of the Grand Imperium. Current Lord Hadean of the Allied Unification Troops of the Order of Cybertron, or "Autobots"

Heres my personal line up of Primes and where they are during the G1 war (A bit head cannon-y)

    The 13:
    1. Prima - Dead
    2. Vector Prime - Still alive, Somewhere in time.
    3. Solus Prime - Dead
    4. Alpha Trion - Alive, as seen in G1.
    5. Alchemist Prime - Alive as Macadam
    6. Micronus Prime - Dead
    7. Nexus Prime - Alive, Split into components
    8. Onyx Prim - Dead
    9. Amalgous Prime - Dead
    10. Quintis Prime - Dead
    11. Liege Maximo - Dead
    12. Megatronus - Alive, imprisoned somewhere
    13. Autonomous Maximus - Alive, Stands guard over the core of Cybertron.
    Pre and Post War:
    1. Zeta Prime - A dictatorial Tyrant, dies during an uprising.
    2. Sentinal Prime - A well-meaning but flawed leader who falls into the same ruling Zeta did. Dies at the Hands Of Megatron
    3. Optimus Prime - The Heroic Autobot Leader who leads them through the war against the Decepticons and brings them in relation with humans. Dies at the Hands of Megatron.
    4. Rodimus Prime - Successor to Optimus, learns and grows to be a leader with the help of Ultra Magnus and leads the Autobots to the end of the Cybertron war. Dies in battle with Cyclonus.
    5. Primal Prime - The living Matrix.

I am quite of a fan of 3H's post g1 stuff such as Rodimus and Primal Prime. I also prefer The Last Autobot as the 13th as he built to protect Primus and Optimus as the 13th was one of the worst things of the Aligned continuity and IDW. It takes away the everyman feeling that they have spent the last 30 years stripping from Optimus.

My continuity has the Aligned Primes, with Thirteen renamed Exortus Prime. Megatronus also becomes Megatron, and these versions of the Primes have a stark similarity to the Aligned ones.

Predacons are much more faithful to their G1 and BW counterparts, though.

After the Age of the Primes, the leader of Cybertron is just based off lineage, then the Age of Wrath has Zeta Prime as the leader, who leads the rebellion against the Quintessons; he passes leadership to Sentinel Prime after he dies.

Much like G1, Sentinel wages a way against Trannis' Decepticons, wins the war, but gets murdered by Megatron. The Matrix is then passed to an old and feeble Alpha Trion, who stores it for the next Prime.

Unlike G1, Orion Pax (created a few years prior to the Age of Wrath) arrives (with Ariel) to Alpha Trion by himself to get upgraded. From there, it's a fight for all, including the Mini-cons Megatron enslaved.

    P R I M E S I A N S / M A T R I X I L L I O N (crossover with The Silmarillion)

(Instead of using Prime as a rank or a spiritual (?) thing, I using Prime as Prima's students).

So, what if the primes swore an oath that ruined a half of Middle-Earth Cybertron?

The oath was called Oath of The Fallen Primes, for retrieve The Silmarils The Matrix from Morgoth.

Before the darkening age, Cybertron was peaceful and safe. Transformers were live in happiness and Prosperous. Prima, the teacher of all primes, forged The Matrix for the wife he dears. Manwë kicked out and banned Melkor from Arda, thus Melkor wandered in the space until he found Cybertron. Melkor took body as Unicron, then he stole The Matrix and killed Prima's wife, then declared as the king of Cybertron. In the darkening and mourness age, Prima and his seven students swore an oath: They will fight anyone who hide or keep The Matrix.

The Primes, who swore the oath:

    1. Prima: The First Born. Died in The First War of Cybertron (First Kinslaying).
    2. Megatronus: The Ruthless. Died in The Fall of Iacon (Second Kinslaying).
    3. Vector Prime: The Loremaster. Alive and the winner as he retrieved The Matrix. But he threw it to the sky. Then wondering the entire space and times and storytelling "The Fall of The Primes" until The Last Battle.
    4. Sentinel Prime: The Proudest. Died in The Fall of Iacon (Second Kinslaying).
    5. Liege Maximo: The Hunter. Died in The Fall of Iacon (Second Kinslaying).
    6. Amalgamous Prime: The Trickster. Died in The Fall of Protihex (Third Kinslaying).
    7. Quintus Prime: The Idealist. Died in The Fall or Iacon (Second Kinslaying).
    8. Onyx Prime: The Beast. Died in The Fall of Protihex (Third Kinslaying).

The Primes, who didn't swore the oath but doomed by Mandos (Transformers assumed him as Primus), because they're students of Prima but against him:

    1. Alchemist Prime: The Scientist. Died in The War of Unnumbered Tears.
    2. Optimus Prime: The Fair. Died in The Fall of Iacon (Second Kinslaying).
    3. Rodimus Prime: The Faithful. Died of fulfilled his oath to help Springer taking The Matrix from Melkor.
    4. Ultra Magnus: The Hidden. Died in The Fall of Protihex (Third Kinslaying).
    5. Solus Prime: The Mech-maiden. Died in The War of Unnumbered Tears.
    6. Alpha Trion: The Wisest. Alive. Stays on Cybertron until The Last Battle.
    7. Star Saber: The Valiant. Died in The War of Amandement.

So in my interpretation, I realized that Primus is actually a hedonistic god- he travels the universe mingling with other planetary bodies in Astral form (explanation for why TFs keep coming to Earth- “Mother Nature” or Gaea and Primus go way back, lol).

Based on a fancy little concept present in sci-fi writing that I coined, call the Law Of Galactic Convergent Evolution, these astral bodies have been basing the “end form” of sentient life on their planets on a common, bipedal model. Why? No one knows, but it is how it is. There’s no common precursor species, but for some reason all astral-planetary gods gravitate towards this same form.

This explains why lots of TFs are extremely humanoid, and why they even appear to almost have secondary sex characteristics and “masculine” and “feminine” figures (though in my opinion, they can switch between either through simple reformatting processes whenever they want, and their personal identity of gender is extremely different than our archaic binary- gender among Cybertronians is unique self-expression, in a way)

Anyways, Primus decides he wants to try the whole sentient life thing, but is too lazy to start from the basics and evolve his way up. He instead creates this nearly immortal, powerful, sentient race, as opposed to Gaea who plans to enjoy watching life on her planet grow and evolve to sentience. She basically roles her eyes at his bullshit. (He also may have done this to impress her, no one knows how his mind works.)

So the “13 Primes” are literally the first 13 Transformers, who Primus makes unbelievably overpowered and each one represents part of his personality.

    The Thirteen:

    1. Prima- Arrogance (second strongest of the Primes)
    2. Vector Prime- Cowardice
    3. Quintus Prime- hubris
    4. Alchemist Prime- hedonism (this makes him ironically one of the strongest but we’ll get into that later)
    5. Solus Prime- Creativity
    6. Alpha Trion- Inquisition
    7. Micronus Prime- Insecurity (there’s unintentionally a stupid joke here)
    8. Nexus Prime- Indecision
    9. Liege Maximo- Insincerity
    10. Amalgamous Prime- Instability
    11. Onyx Prime- Paranoia
    12. Megatronus Prime- Hatred (makes him the weakest Prime in terms of world breaking superpowers, as Primus is a pretty carefree sack of shit, not an angry piece of shit, hence why Solus has to build him a big boom boom stick)
    13. The “Thirteenth” Prime-

The Thirteen is where Primus realized he messed up- or he realizes by proxy that his personality is pretty shit, so he tries to stuff a bunch of compassion into #13. But since Primus doesn’t have that compassion himself, it doesn’t work, and the Thirteenth Prime can’t even form, instead its Spark creates itself a vessel, forming the iconic Matrix of Leadership.

At this point, Primus has lost interest, and lets the 13- or 12, I guess, go and do whatever the fuck they want. On a barren planet with no life whatsoever. As a result, you can imagine 12 shitty people don’t get along.

Solus, however, finds herself inextricably drawn to emo Megatronus, while the rest of the Primes see him as an angry, pathetic weakling, Solus sees some of that righteous anger in him. Megatronus hates the world, but he doesn’t hate Solus.

Prima extremely disapproves- based on his travels to alien worlds with his fanclub/groupies: Trion, Vector, Alchemist, and Liege. Vector just likes exploring, Trion believes Prima is the coolest thing he’s ever seen, Alchemist is looking for new ways to get high, and Liege is a sycophant who is sucking up to the “strongest”. Prima simply seized the Matrix for himself, but doesn’t even bond with it- he harasses Solus into weaponizing it, hence the Star Saber.

He also constantly harasses Solus for her affection, believing that an Alpha male like him (as he saw in his travels) should obviously get all attention from the “fairer” sex. Even though Cybertronians don’t actually have rigid sexual identity, as Primus felt it was unnecessary.

Onyx basically spends his entire time alone, afraid the others are out to get him because of his bestial form, and he creates Cybertron’s wildlife to keep him company. An accident with Prima grandstanding with the Star Saber leads to a large number of them gaining sentience and the ability to transform, and Prima can’t BELIEVE that Onyx Prime beat him to creating sentient life, so he goes off and creates a bunch of Cybertronians in his own image- the main Cybertronian populace.

Quintus, having studied the galaxy on his own in his scientific pursuits, makes the conclusion that he is superior to the other 11 and their squabbles, and fucks off to a different system, creating his own race in his image- the Quintessons. They eventually betray and slaughter him, his essence being the thing that holds Quintessa’s shaky composition together- the many scientific experiments he did on his world and his creations damaged them irreversibly.

As Prima’s “children” attack his own, Onyx realizes his people aren’t safe here, so he taps the Matrix to create Chela, the first Titan. He gathers all the sentient beast-formers, and they run off their lives to Eukaris, a literal paradise. Happy Ending for them, for now.

Micronus, who also has Cybertronians created in his image by Prima as slaves and servants to the “main” Cybertronian, comes up with a plot to liberate his Mini-cons, and they also try to escape. Micronus is less successful, and a large number of his people are left behind, becoming precursors to bots like Rewind and Rumble.

Vector Prime is put off by the constant tension and confrontation- and after exploring so much of the galaxy and even going through the time stream, he decides to try and enter the astral plane. He does, but gets trapped. Primus shoos him away, viewing him as an annoyance. He’s lost and drifting, until Gaea takes pity on him- she’s used to cleaning up after Primus. When Primus sees that Gaea has taken an interest in his creation, he attempts to use it to impress her, but she sees through his bullshit. Again. Vector can’t return to the material plane, but finds an anchor and sanctuary in one of Earth’s spiritual defense pillars- Gaea has them scattered throughout the solar system, and Demeter, or Ceres 1 (the dwarf planet) is one of them. He spends most of his time showing Demeter the worlds in his memories, and
Demeter’s overprotective-ness helps him feel safe. Kinda happy ending?

Trion is a quintessential loser, unironically Prima’s personal hype man, and spends his whole life over-exaggerating Prima’s compassion and benevolence. And of course, slandering Megatronus.

Liege Maximo deceives Prima into blaming Megatronus for everyone running away, and goes to confront Solus- when she refuses to leave Megatronus for him, he kills her in cold blood, and when Nexus decides they’ve had enough (Nexus making a big decision, that’s once in a lifetime) he cleaves Nexus into unassuming, unknown, amnesiac components.

Prima tosses the Enigma of Combination into the galaxy in one direction, and components of the Cyber Calibre into other corners of the galaxy. Both are needed to summon Nexus, along with their components.

Amalgamous, who had a shared sense of struggle with Nexus, tried to fight back, but is actually slain (history would say they were “roommates”).

Megatronus returns, finds his lover and best friends dead, and queue epic showdown- but for all of Prima’s power and MacGuffin Sword, he underestimated Megatronus and the power of the Requiem Blaster- Megatronus destroys the Star Saber, and the Matrix is useless to Prima, so Megatronus tosses aside the Requiem Blaster as well, and then tears Prima to shreds with his bare hands.

Liege Maximo sees the carnage, and uses his hypnotic powers over regular Cybertronians to coerce dancers, singers, and artists to come with him to a secret colony world he created- Caminus. (He also has a bias towards feminine Cybertronians. Classic Primal Hedonism.) Eventually, over time, Liege Maximo reformats to Liege Maxima, feeling more feminine, and starts a cult to keep Caminiens in line- bet you know where this is going, but SPOILERZ.

Megatronus buries his brethren, tells a livid Alpha Trion to rust alone, drops the Matrix into the planet’s core, and hides the Requiem Blaster for whenever he may need it again. He realizes Maximo’s treachery, and takes off to the stars to pursue him- he has no idea where the well hidden Caminus is, however, nor does he know of its existence. Trion blames him for everything, and for the Prime’s fall from grace, and Megatronus laughs, and responds that he likes that title- “The Fallen”.

Alchemist Prime was basically high throughout the whole thing. It’s really a shame, as mentioned before, Alchemist is actually the strongest Prime- he can lightly alter reality to his will while also being a master of energy efficiency and energon refining. It takes him a long time to sober up and leave the planet’s core- the spiritual energies there enhanced his trips- but when he finally sobers up, he abandons Primehood, abandons Primus entirely, and establishes a humble and inconspicuous life as Maccadam. This also explains why Maccadam is somehow neutral throughout the war- people “forget” their hatred when they walk through the door of his pub, or those who are simply too vicious are intrinsically repelled.

Where was Primus the whole time, you may ask? Dunno. Probably chasing after Gaea, like always. Astral-Planetary god figure, and he’s still a simp.

Let me know what you guys think of this massively long winded post, kind of the origin of my own personal Transformers continuity. May turn it into a massive anthology of stories later.

Tossing my hat in the ring. We have two sets of primes, the mythical primes and the autobot leaders.

    The mythical primes being.

    Vector Prime
    Logos Prime
    Fallen
    Alpha Trion
    Nexus Prime
    Prima
    Alchemist Prime/Maccadam
    Liege Maximo
    Solus Prime
    Onyx Prime
    Amalgamous Pime
    Micronus Prime
    The Last Autobot

And then for Prime in terms of rank,
Alpha Prime, Guardian Prime, Nova Prime, Zeta Prime, Sentinel Prime, Optimus Prime, Rodimus Prime, Optimus again because like who gives a crap out Hot Rod.

And then Convoy's happen, but that's like Maximals/Autobots who hit the upper up after the lineage of the Prime's ends.

But hey that's my fav fic/ head cannon for ya.
