Good paint wasn't going to save Arcee from atrocious shellforming. That figure would have been an embarrassment to Studio Series.

 

This. Never understood why some people are so adamant that Arcee’s transformation is impossible as a toy. With clever engineering and “fake/cheating” parts a la SS86 Hotrod it could absolutely be achieved.

 

Ideally yes, but I am satisfied in general with her, mold wise. I would assume that to make make a dainty, feminine character like her turn into a full blown vehicle would be rather difficult at the deluxe price point. Her terrible color scheme is a lot less forgivable, IMO. It's especially irritating considering her mold mate, Lifeline, got more paint apps, despite being a virtual nobody.

 

TonTon is going to be reviewing SS ‘86 Hot Rod soon it looks like.

Because her design is essentially a female carrying a backpack made of car parts. No matter what, there’s going to be shellforming involved. This might be an unpopular opinion in this thread, but Arcee is in desperate need of a re-design.

 

It certainly would have at least helped. She looks terrible with her unpainted rear end and lifeless doll face.

Safe to say I'm buying and displaying this line with unicron rather than buying the expensive MP alternatives from 3p and such. They are as good looking as MP figures at this point And I can get a bunch of them for far less.

Man oh man, the Studio Series figures are beyond excellent looking. And we’re getting Leader class Dinobots with these? Hot damn.

 

Unfortunately, Scourge is a design only a Hastak could love.. ^^

No I don't think so. There are a few color differences, but the mold appears to be exactly the same as this one Tonton just reviewed

 

They're both mainline, they're sold at the same price and at the same retail stores.
