A transformation a child could do, AMAZING! I can't get the missiles to tab on in either mode, so I'll toss them in the box for safe keeping. I love this chubby racer! NASCAR on steroids, hell yeah!

Leadfoot and Steeljaw are such an absurd pair, I love it. And thankfully the toys are actually pretty decent.

Leadoot's gut is kinda novel among SS figures, being just a solid chunk of car. No wad of panels trying to hide away on the back, how refreshing!

The clavicle/shoulder connection can be a bit iffy. The pegs don't seem to want to fully go into their slots, and the chest panels are thin while the arms are made of much thicker plastic, and there are a fair number of joints in them, meaning just posing the arms often end up dislodging the shoulders.

And yeah, the four tabbed weapons are a nuisance. So many ports and pegs to play with, but it seems like every combination has issues. Personally I'd have nixed them to give Steeljaw some basic articulation.

(I wonder if those tabs on Steeljaw's butt are for anything, or just part of the design?)

Car mode is really nice and cool-looking, though the weapons are especially annoying in this mode. You can't tell how loose they all are in this pic.

I am shocked and appalled that there are no pictures of this guy with HA Steeljaw. I must do the world this service!

He definitely does not match visually. Ironically, he probably has less paint that the Steeljaw included.

    Such a good boy.

A good boy who can turn into a butt crossbow! Peg is a bit too big to fit into vehicle mode, and I didn't want to force it.

And here's a comparison between the two Steeljaws.

I just realized I have no idea where my HA Steeljaw is.

I know where Leadfoot is, but I think I tossed Steeljaw in a bag of accessories in like, 2011 and forgot about him.

Just got him out of package and, after a first transformation, my only real complaints are lacking deco that was shown on the box but cut – that is, silver on the legs and red for the head panel that forms part of the hood. Other than that, he's pretty great. I like the stupid number of accessories, even the guns stay on in alt mode reasonably well on my copy. Steeljaw is a bit "whatever," especially compared with his HA version who's loaded with articulation – a sign of just how much budgets have been cut between a $30 toy in 2011 and a $20 toy now.

He's definitely a massive step up from Roadbuster, though. Leadfoot is pleasurable to transform and actually holds together in alt mode.

Definitely the one to pick up out of the three SS Wreckers; I'm perfectly happy with my DOTM Roadbuster and Topspin, so he's going with them.

I imagine steeljaw like a targetmaster but he attaches to other weapons to enhance them instead of becoming a weapon himself. Maybe he sniffs out heavy machinery and weaponry on battlefields for Leadfoot then reconfigures them for him?

Minor word of caution on ol' Foot -

I think part of the reason why folks are reporting a loose connection for the guns on the side of the car roof is that the tabs on his arms for where those guns go are noticeably thicker than the ones on the roof for vehicle mode. So the more the guns stay on his arms, the holes on the guns are being ever so slightly pushed out, so they're then a looser fit on the vehicle mode tabs.

Another mild word of warning, be careful of the tabs that connect the fake doors to the shoulders stretching the holes out. It may be inevitable because of the design, but my copy's holes are stressed to the point where they won't stay fully pegged in.

I find that the stress comes from when the elbows rotate and untab the shoulders. Since the elbows are a touch too tight, it's best to either sand the mushroom pegs down, or simply hold the upper arms when rotating the elbows side-to-side to avoid stressing the shoulder peg holes. If I do that I find he stays tabbed in very solidly.

Good point, I had the same with the shoulder joint. I added dish soap to the joint

Got him this weekend, impressed enough to gush about him on here. He looks great, probably one of the most successful depictions of a character in SS so far, and that's a pretty high bar. The transformation scheme is great, gets everything where it needs to be and does so efficiently without much fakery, aside the fake doors on the chest. He even has a tidy decent looking under chassis which is almost unheard of. Designer should be really proud. I've always loved the Wreckers and I found Roadbuster to be a little disappointing, so Leadfoot has made up for that completely.

Plus he comes with oodles of accessories which is abnormal for a Deluxe these days, even if the tabs and slots for them weren't done as well as they could have been. Steeljaw is a great addition since he's pretty substantial and didn't even appear in the movie. Like someone else said, you can tell they wanted to get this guy right because of the rough history of him in toy form. Gives me lots of hope for the upcoming Dino.

Overall this is about as good as you can do for a deluxe, let alone an exclusive deluxe at regular retail price. Probably my new favorite SS deluxe.

I followed other posts, and super-glued the missles & guns. For the missles, I used wire cutter to cut away the lower connector, and just glued into the upper connector. Very little interference in transformation. It also helps to hold the shoulder together.
The legs also needs a little paint (black & silver). After the mods, I'd say this one and Shatter are my top figures for this year. It has simple & sturdy transformation, and wickedly cool looks in both modes. 40ra.jpg

Finally found the missiles I had lost behind my bed yesterday! That means I can glue them in like others have done. Just seems easier than being annoyed by them constantly.

So I had this guy from when he came out. I bought the Toyhax decals for him, made a couple little mods, he was great.

    Then I lost him.

He's in my storage tubs in my basement but I've looked for him over and over and just can't find him. So I bought another one from this very board for a reasonable price, complete with the DNA upgrade kit. I'll be ordering the Toyhax set again soon.

One weird thing is that I've glued the missile racks onto his fenders, but they get in the way of his arms. I had done this with my first one and I don't recall this problem. Anybody else notice this?
