It doesnt seem like much to ask for.
I’m not expecting a Revoltech for $20 (which I still dont know why Revoltech is so expensive) but after messing with the new 6” Snake Eyes , man I know they can do better.

Definitely man. These figures remind me more of when Hasbro’s Legends figures right after they just got the license in 2007 or when they started getting a little better by 2010.

When the first guy to get them isn't even willing to review them, you know they're bad!

Even in the promo pics, Optimus looked like the worst to me.

But now seeing a (crappy) video of Soundwave and Megatron, even through the package, you can tell these are garbage.

    No regrets canceling my preorder.

For now I'm still holding onto my order, watch some other reviews if they get the figures in before me and after that make my own judgement.

But boy, do I agree his review did sour my opinion on them. Shame, because I do like Hasbro's oher 6-inch lines and was planning to go full into this one.

I wasn't "all in"...but I absolutely would have loved a Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream, and Shockwave all standing in a row. But not when they look that bad.

One of the treasures of my collection is a Japanese Botcon 97 Galvatron, the SHBM version. He's not very poseable, he's very stylized, but he looks like a million bucks compared to the soft sculpts and poor paint on these.

By all means, get them in hand and judge them that way. Like you said, I agree it's premature to base opinions on ONE review, but just seeing the video along with those stills from the Chinese blog, and the fact that I think the sculpts are "off" I just said screw it. Such a shame. I was just messing with my set of Hasbro Ghostbusters today, and they're awesome, in my opinion. Sure, they mostly use the same body, but they're way more poseable than they have any need to be, the likenesses and paint look great. Why Hasbro blew it on their own intellectual property is a mystery. Maybe these were just a last minute rush job or something.

This Ghostbusters are a good comparison because they’re using articulation mapping consistent with what Hasbro has been implementing on their $20 6” lines for at least the past 5+ years. They aren’t as articulated as other Hasbro 6” offerings in the Marvel Legends and GI Joe Classified lines from this year, but they’re a reasonable expectation for what the RED line should’ve had parity with.

For example, Prime at the very least could’ve had a hinged pelvic plate to enable the hips to move forward 90 degrees. Even better if drop down hips(as standardized on GI Joe Classified) were used.

Yeah, it's that refusal to break the sculpt that kinda does those figures in, unfortunately. Like, there's a cut on Prime's forearm that looks like it would give him a double jointed elbow, but it's just detail. I don't even think Megatron has a waist swivel; just the crunch.

My Furai G1 Prime just shipped from GameStop, and considering I got it for only $18, I'm more excited for it to come than ever. I know Hasbro can do better, which is probably why I'm so disappointed.

You're saying that like Hasbro just stopped making transforming TF's for these figures. We get that you hate them. You've made no secret of that.

I never implied that Hasbro just stopped making Transformers that actually transform, due to the R.E.D. Line??? However, Hasbro did indicate that the positives of the R.E.D. line being a none transforming line, are that they would be more G1 accurate, have more articulation, and be highly poseable, all due to dropping the transformation gimmick. None of which they succeeded at. I was actually looking forward to the success of this line. And I don't hate what Hasbro has done ( Hate is a very strong word). Am I completely and utterly disappointed? Most definitely! But that is just my personal opinion, I'm sure you have yours as well. In the end we will all vote on the success of this line with our money, and Hasbro will most likely respond with a business savvy decision.

Watched that review on Optimus the other day and seen how trash and cheap the figure locked in comparison to stock photos. I canceled my pre-orders. Happy after all those release date push backs I was able to actually see what they really look like before I purchased. Saved myself $60 plus tax, rather use that towards some new transforming Transformer figs

I changed my mind myself. I never did a pre-order but I wanted to see a review first and I'n glad I did. The designs look good for show accurate figures but the review I saw (and you might have seen the same one) indicated soft plastic bent out of tray (which can be fixed I know) but also some sort of film on the figures and some floppiness. In the end, I'd rather see that $60 go toward something else like that Quintesson Pit of Judgement set.

These are fine for action figure collectors that are going for the toon accuracy, but don't wanna spend MP prices (and don't really care to xform them). They have a good shelf presence. Plus, not all fans of Transformer characters want to deal with the whole "puzzle" process.

My only wishlist would to have them scale with the other Marvel Legends/ Joe figs. Like the Marvel Legends Sentinel coming out. And maybe a "comic" color edition down the line.

Here is a much better review I found of Prime and Megatron. Sadly no Soundwave though.

after watching this, I feel the same way in that I will give them a shot. Megatron will happen, and maybe Prime. As long as toy hacks or someone can get us some stickers to cover the windows on his chest.

I just hope the tolerances and QC issues get fixed before they bring out a Starscream.

They honestly don’t look that bad. I might try out Optimus but we’ll see.

Had to cancel my pre-orders but yeah, even back when the pics first got released always thought Megs looked better than Prime. When I see these in person myself is when I'll decide if to pick them.

Hasbro's usually pretty good about things like that. I remember when they re-did Bumblebee to make him not floppy.

First wave isn’t a good start, but I’m still excited for some reveals for this line.
