Maybe an all-in ensemble cast movie of super robots along the lines of Avengers...but with super robots instead of super heroes. I assume the licensing would be a clusterfuck...but it could be entertaining.

You have Godzilla vs King Kong toy's, just like Top Gun, Black Widow, Scooby-Doo, Mulan, Fast and Furious, Ghostbusters and a couple of other movies that got delayed or went to streaming but the toy's were already coming out. Plus you have the Neca Godzilla stuff.

You know, I don't think Super Robots when I think about King Kong...it's kind of a different concept.

You asked me what was promoting Godzilla. So I gave you the answer Godzilla vs King Kong.

Did they mention if there was going to be any differences on the reissue?

Bandai Chogokin reissues are generally the same. The only time they differ is when they do an 'R' release. R releases differ from the originals and reissues. They may range from different paint/colour schemes, accessories and/or materials used.

My brother picked up the Playmates 1984 Voltron off of Gamestop's website recently. After talking with him about it I gave into an impulse buy and bought a set for myself. Get it in hand this week and I'm pretty happy with it as I'm assembling it for the first time and then I notice all the various paint nicks and some mold imperfections particularly on the robot chest sigil. So that took a bit of joy out of the experience. My brother sends me some pics of his and he has similar, if not worse, paint defects on the lion faces. Was kind of getting in the mind of just repackaging this as a Christmas gift for my nephew, so I just leave it posed on the window sill in my office. The voice box won me over as did the overall presence the set has. You walk into a room, you notice it. You notice it, you play with the voice box gimmick and the next thing you know you've disassembled and reassembled the set. Very impressed with the voice box and the number of clips and how it knows when to play what.

It's not anywhere close to a quintessential Voltron, but what it does, it does do well. The shoulder to chest mold breakup doesn't even bother me that much since I can get decent standing poses with the existing elbows and without needing the shoulder joints. Few, but enough. Going to try and paint match the white on the lion faces and at least fix the green lion snout so I don't notice the nick from a distance.

I did notice that Lance doesn't get a personalized shout out from Keith if he's the missing lion. Always suspected those two didn't like each other. :D

Do all the black lion sounds and lights still work without the others? I'll probably never find the green and red lions especially to make the whole bot.

You'll never hear any of the specific combined Voltron sound clips. There's voice clips specific to the black lion. Voice clips specific to forming Voltron, calling out who/what's missing. Voice clips in Voltron mode with all lions attached. And voice clips as each lion detaches from combined mode.

AFAIK, Gamestop still has these in stock and they are on sale. Check the website. That's where I ordered my set from.

Thanks for the info. Good to know. :)  Red and green are gone confirmed. :(  With Gamestop's weird new sale schedule, hard to keep on top of things. Their website being trash doesn't help. :p

If my local GS has red and green in stock, I’d be willing to pick them up and ship them to you at cost...let me know if you are interested!

Sorry to hear that. :(  I literally bought the entire set off of the site a week ago. Weird that the two you need are the two sold out.

I just checked my local GameStop and they were sold out. They had a complete set sitting there for a while...must have sold sometime in the past week.

You’re welcome, man. Sorry if I got your hopes up...was really hopeful they’d still be there.

Really love the Mattel version. I did sub for it. The only thing that bugged me when you form Voltron. There is nothing you can do with the Back lions tail.
