So this is an official product, interesting. So her basic build should be similar if not identical to GGG girl. I like that it's not overtly sexualised although I'm sure DC had a say in that.
I don't think DC cares, to that extent. Conversely, they approved the Playarts Kai Variants rendition, which is extremely sexualized. That's just Shimada Fumikane's style. While not without his fetishes, his style skews cuter, and doesn't really emphasize curves very much.
Bought another A.T.K Girl recently and I have to say I'm falling in love with these kits. China has been knocking it out of the park with the designs. Still have the giant mecha arms to complete but so far looking good!
ok i have to ask... where did you get her? it looks good but i also noticed that the base body is pretty much a ko megami device kit. So it should be useful for customization projects on a budget.
Man, I keep meaning to pickup the Bullet Knight duo and maybe an overpriced Fubuki on ebay, but my money is tied up with other things.
Despite being KOs at their base, these things don't seem to be any cheaper than their Japanese counterparts. They're like, $60-80+ USD on eBay the few times I've seen them. The Tiger one pictured above is $55.00 list price on ShowZStore, but she's long sold out.
I got her on ebay for around $75 including shipping, but I have seen her on amazon as well. Just search for A.T.K. Girl Baihu. There are 3 different models out at the moment, the spider girl Arachne and there is another called Heracross that is a shorter curvier body type. They're base bodies are practically identical to Megami with only Arachne having the shoulder swivel. Another difference with Baihu and I believe with Heracross is that their hair is made out of PVC instead of hard plastic. I will try to post more photos tomorrow of the base form and the full armor since I finished tonight.
Okay Baihu has been completed! Since some of us were curious about the base figure I am going to be posting some side by side comparisons using one of my Megami Device kits. Road Runner has graciously volunteered her time and..... oh for the love of- I honestly don't know why I'm surprised. Give me a moment to play peacemaker. Comparison post is soon to come if everyone behaves.
Okay! Now that everyone has been convinced (a.k.a. bribed) into behaving let us begin our review of A.T.K. girl Baihu base form. While the atk and megami are very similar there is enough difference in size of ball joints and pegs that limbs and other body parts cannot be swapped without some customising to allow them to fit comfortably. Despite Road Runner's earlier "demonstration" she is quite literally holding things in place in that photo. While the elbows have a similar range the obvious difference between these kits is clear in the shoulder range. The torso joints also have a similar range, though once again Megami has a slightly wider range of mobility. This becomes even more apparent when we move to the legs and hip joints, where the Megami's adjustable hip sockets really shine. Overall while ATK doesnt have bad range for being a knock off design at base level, megami continues to be the reigning queens when it comes to joint range. If anyone has any more questions please let me know and I'll be happy to answer then!
not only that... when i saw the box for the first time the first thing i noticed was the japanese letters in top right have a similar style to the busou shinki logo... or maybe its just me... wait.... oh i see... Search results for: 'atk girl'
basically the same girl you already have but its unreleased yet so... anyway for those interested: Eastern Model A.T.K Girl Genbu Plastic Model 03 ATK Girl Four Holy Beasts White Tiger 02 ATK Girl Heracross
Yeah I did see that, which is odd since it was released start of this year. Definately interested in getting Genbu once she's released. UPDATE: just found out this kit comes with double the skin tone runners to make both armored AND the unarmored figure from the same box!!
Photographic proof, ATK Girl Genbu comes with enough doubled runners to make two bodies for armored and unarmored figures! Two for the price of one!!
perfect for cutomization purposes.... too bad the current situation does not allow me to buy more stuff online... current shipping services cost WAY TOO MUCH.
