That's fair. I've always just thought it played nicely into a theme of betrayal throughout the movie - Optimus is betrated by Sentinel, Sam is betrayed by Dylan, Megatron is betrayed by Shockwave, Shockwave is betrayed by Sentinel and Megatron - and I think Megatron getting pushed to the background plays into that a bit. It adds a little something to his little "You'll be nothing" scene with Carly/Mikaela

For Optimus and Sam, there's some catharsis in how they're betrayed; Optimus is able to forgive Sentinel while Sam is able to confront Dylan. Meanwhile, for Megatron and Shockwave, their betrayals both have negative consequences, which is what you want to see for your villains

I haven't had any breakage issues with my Devastator after nearly three months, though I did modify Overload slightly in the last week or so after it was reported that his shoulders/Devastator's waist has the potential to snap and become weaker. But I also switch between displaying them individually and in combined mode ever 2-3 weeks, which leads me on to my next point...

It depends on what you have available in terms of storage space. But I would definitely recommend switching between combined and individual display if you have the room to, as Devastator is very top heavy, and I've no doubt that could cause some problems (particularly for Long Haul and Rampage/Skipjack) in the long term

 

I noticed something as I was looking at the thumbnail for PrimevsPrime's MPM Ratchet review. . .
That piece on the gun looked to be simulating part of the vehicle mode bumper, so I was curious if that was true for the movie CG model.

I checked some screenshots and as it turns out, that piece is green on the movie CG model, so that piece isn't from the bumper.

 

It is also a way to hide Constructicons in plain sight.

I'm still baffled as to how they came up the colors for the MPM gun. Every shot I see, Ratchet's gun clearly has a black barrel and green rear, yet the MPM inverts it for some reason.

 

Just got MPM 10. I was on the fence about him since I had HftD Leader Screamer. Holy cow I'm glad I got him. He's incredible. Just feels solid. Managed to transform him without instructions too, so that was nice. Definitely wish the rubber parts were plastic. And the only thing I think HftD did better was the range of motion with the shoulders, moving inward. That was great engineering and I wish it had been carried over here. But overall I'm astounded with how good he is and glad I grabbed him.

So Topspin came in the mail today. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think he's my favorite Wrecker? His odd proportions don't bother me in person. In fact, he's oddly endearing looking. Comparing, Roadbuster is just a mess. Awkward to pose, clunky backpack, and pita alt mode and transformation. Leadfoot is great. But he's also clunky to pose, just as a side effect of how he's shaped. His alt mode is a rock though. Topspin seems to take some of the better aspects of both the other guys. Lanky enough in bot mode that he's fun to pose, minimal backpack, simple and easy yet effective transformation, solid alt mode. The only negatives are those nasty soft weapons. I understand why they need to be soft, cuz they're so long and thin, but still....it's just sad. They look fantastic as a trio though

Optimus' truck is about 30 or 31 feet long in real life, while Starscream's jet is about 62. So for accurate alt mode scale, Screamer's gotta be exactly twice as long as Optimus. SS Optimus is 1:55 scale in alt mode. For Screamer to be the same scale, the jet would need to be 13.5 inches long. Someone with the mpm measure that bad boy and see what we got

How do the DOTM twins scale with Studio Series Autobots? I wonder if they have the scale to work as SS placeholders.

Ratchet and Optimus are too small! Though it's good to see the five OG Autobots together.

I actually got a picture of the DOTM Twins and some of the SS Autobots this last summer. They’re too big for SS, but I can upload that picture tomorrow.

MPM Ratchet also looks really good in those pictures. The deco could use some work, but I still think they did a great job with it. I’d really like to pick it up at some point!

 

Skids is a bit taller than Mudflap, and about as tall as Chromia. They're about a head shorter than the recent SS Cliffjumper.

 

I hope we get Hound in Studio Series, I want a robot mode like TLK Voyager but with the AOE alt mode, that original AOE toy had an inaccurate robot mode
