It's the new MG ver. KA. [edit] Huh, I wonder if it actually comes with that stand. Because to the best of my knowledge, Bandai hasn't made that one available on its own yet. It was previously used with the MG Wing Gundam Fenice Rinascita, and I don't think it's been seen since. So nice if the new Wing Zero comes with it, but I wouldn't mind if they made it separately available to properly supersede the Action Base 1.
Speaking of wing, it looks like the next round of P-Bandai is going to be another all Wing batch with re-issues: - Maganac Auda/Amad custom 2-pack (reissue) - Maganac Rashid/Abdul custom 2-pack (reissue) - Maganac Army 36 unit set (reissue) - Leo (Full Weapon Set)(Reissue) - Sandrock Custom - Vayeate/Mecurius 2-pack Release date for everything is Jan. 2021. Good chance this makes it into the western P-Bandai offerings next month.
Doesn't have the full Zero burst mode though. Kinda nice it has the right shield design whereas the GFFMC has the wrong one which annoys me. I wonder if it is the same size as the metal composite as I know the metal composite is slightly larger than 1:100.
Because that's kind of the point of the wing Gundam's design? I know the bird modes aren't particularly the best as far as transformations go, but for this particular design I actually prefer the bird mode over the MS mode simply because the wings look far less pretentious on a bird shape than on a humanoid shape.
Of course this is shown RIGHT when I'm working on the old 2004 version of the mold. It does look good, though. The gun storage is really cool. The shield looks nice, but don't care so much about it. The 2-toned blue looks really sleek. And the "modern" MG articulation is always welcome as well.
Not going to lie, I did not expect my question following your post to be so... prophetic. If Daban model can make model kits from Metal Build figures, why not let Bandai make a Master Grade from the GFFMC? No matter, It's definitely an aesthetic improvement from the original, with a few more gimmicks lifted from subsequent kits including the HiRM with that "Zero System" heatsink on the head fins and the Neo-Bird Mode. The collapsing rifles though, that's new. I see the keyhole injection style from the ZZ, and I like the extreme articulation and separating knee plates. EDIT: gunjap.net has the "poster" preview. includes a few more features that aren't shown here like the sliding wrist cuffs for what looks like stability and having the shield mounted for doing "The Zero's Final Shooting Pose" and the wings arrangement for Neo-Bird Mode including using the big binder outer wings as the atmospheric heat shield. Gunjap's translation also suggest it does include an Action Base, probably the same type from the Fenice. Having seen all this now.. cue the Tallgeese Flugal!!!
Probably because birdmode is Wing's primary gimmick? Heavyarms has macross missile spam, Deathscythe has a beam scythe and stealth, Sandrock is close combat (and extra armor?), Altron/Shenlong has the extendo-arms and Wing...I mean besides the hilariously overpowered gun what else does Wing have that none of the other Gundams do, since even Heavyarms has a beam saber.
Yeah, the timing+nature of your post was hilarious. On an aside, anyone with the original 2004 MG Wing ver.Ka or Wing Zero EW/Custom manage to get it working with an Action Base 1? I'm trying to fit mine on it, and the only crotch-holder that fits the crotch-part interferes with the mobility of the thigh pieces. At least the EW/Custom has that connector point in the backpack, but the ver.Ka doesn't.

Wing Zero looks good, I like the folding TBR, but not thrill about the hands being all white like the PG...though if it's like current MG kits that have multiple types of hands poses instead of joints then it's a easy paint over.
The Wing Zero Custom's bird mode + shield have been retconned in with some of the more recent manga adaptations of the material.
