Ykmow if you think about it, newages superion will technically be the first legends superion. And for those who wanted a legends ruination I guess you're getting that and battle gaia, and toy ruination, and g2, and artic deco, and oh dear lord of the repaints, I wonder how far they'll go
If New Age truly does full scramble and cross compatibility I think I’m in. I’ve been craving a legends scale Bruticus, but didn’t love the aesthetics of the iron factory one
this is definitely an interesting development. at this height i am keeping an eye on this set most definitely the bot does look pretty good. i am glad they arent sticking with the existing height of the earlier car bots.
Exactly. I've been concerned with how large they've been making the commander-types lately. Newage is the only company that was making their carbots legion class, which is how I like them or I'd have already bought into literally any other legends producer. I'm hoping this is more due to them making combiners designed to be scramble city style, so they all need to be around the same height to be compatible. If they ever get back to carbots, I want them the same height as Prowl, Jazz, etc. Worst thing to do is reset partway through what they're doing.
More thinking of my wallet at this point, ms is costing almost the same as a master piece set but at this point it's too early to judge untill newage prices are revealed. The scramble option makes newage a nostalgic must though, especially if they do every combiner in the scramble style, told my kids about the old scramble toys I had as a kid they thought it was great now they get to have an updated version.
I just reized what a jackpot newage has hit here with scrambling. With the amount of repaints they do, and the 3 combiners, that's like an infinite amount of combiners you can make! Wonder how far they'll go cause they struck gold... and used it to repaint bruticus
i never thought they had much of a scale to begin with. i have always thought they kind of got lucky. but the chibi bros kind of painted them into a corner. i am glad to see that they did not let that hold them back. it will be interesting to see if they try to hold onto that with newer carbots or just let it go. im guessing they needed to reset.
I like the scale of NA carbots over MS (it’s more accurate like the MP scale), but for Combiners I don’t care, it definitely won’t dissuade me from this set. I would be disappointed if at some point they return to autobot cars and make them bigger though. Nowadays it seems like NA only want to slit MS throat and put out whatever MS puts out. I’m doubtful we’ll get more NA cars unless MS does more.
It's so stupid to try and kill the other company- if they succeed in their goal of driving MS off a cliff, then MS might just go ahead and turn to doing knockoffs
The NA one looks way better than MS, the legs especially. MS legs have the wheels on the outside and they just look "bulky" compared to NA's take. It's hard for me to say whether NA or MS is really "winning" overall - I have a mixture of both, and there are certainly designs where I prefer one or the other. And there's no rhyme or reason to it for me either. I tried to say to myself that I generally prefer MS for Decepticons since I lean more towards their Megatron and for sure their Soundwave; but then I opted for NA Seekers over MS, and now these guys too. Still not sure yet where I am landing on the Camera bros but I need to decide soon before stock dries up. It's really great to have the competition and options though.
I agree, but NA's carbots are roughly the same size in vehicle mode as MST's carbots (in vehicle mode). So it's possible to get a larger bot out of something the size of NA's cars. Hopefully, that's what happens here!
I mean, Fans Toys managed to do some magic with their Stunticon car bots. Spoiler same size as MP cars in alt mode, but somehow much taller in bot mode.
