The moon boots included with Astrotrain were a subliminal message that Hasbro isnt doing G1 Blitzwing anytime soon. "Heres some boots to make Astrotrain stand the same height as TR Blitzwing. We already retained the trademark to the name Blitzwing in the Studio Series so were good for another 4 years." It sucks, but its probably true.

 

I highly doubt your moon boot argument but the trademark story seems plausible

Then again, why did we get another Astrotrain?

 

Nothing from my side, I'm pretty happy with the TR version personally.

Feel like it's time for the brand to focus on new characters and new takes

Speaking of the Dinobots, something tells me the dino modes are gonna be the focus here. Slag and Grimlock only appeared in robot mode twice in the entire movie if i recall correctly.

 

Also, I updated my Slag and Daniel box art mockup in the new 86 style. I'm still pretty happy with how the 86 turned out, but I'm not the person who judges the quality of this stuff, you are.

 

Eh, I don't know if most of the Dinobots are complex enough transformationally for there to be enough "focus" on one mode that at all detriments the other mode. If there's any characters where it would be easy to absolutely nail both modes (without some kind of other gimmick getting in the way), it'd be the Dinobots.

 

The Fuzors (aka Blentrons) showed up in Neo. They were agents of Unicron, which would make them a great fit for a future chapter of this current saga. As for Transmetals, they showed up in BW proper. The question would be if they'd take the time to bring any of the non-show Transmetals in to the fold.

I think what's more likely is any Transmetals would come alongside other robotic beast modes. Guys like Carnivac, Chainclaw, etc.

 

Yeah. As far as the animation designs go, the Dinobots have always been "accurate" to the toys. Moreso it just comes down to what specific colours and details they choose to represent, rather than any odd character design/engineering elements.

 

Nothing confirmed my end, but I don't see why not in future.

 

Especially coming off WfC where we'll be getting a ton of guys in two forms back to back.

Let's start saying good bye and thank you to G1 and start pivoting back towards more new stuff. The Fossilizers are a great start. All new characters at a higher price point than Battlemaster/Micromaster. More please.
