I think the movie was evidence of that.

To me that maybe in the Aerial Assualt episode (the Combaticons and Aerialbots), I kind of think that Abdul Fakadi, could have been a friend of one of the humans villians in that episode. Dirge and Ramjet may have listened to conversations and when things were really bad for the Decepticons after the movie, maybe introduced themselves to the leader of Carbombya.
