Sorry, just saw these. I didn't take any pics of the spring. the rough size of it was about 1/4" diameter and about 3/8" long. The spring in Bruticon is fairly stout and hard to compress. I was really surprised at the difference. If you do this, be very careful getting th fastener out of the knee joint that holds the spring in. It uses a flanged and serrated push pin, not a screw. when you take it out just work around it prying up slowly and you'll work it out. when putting it back together you can't use the push pin and need to use a screw. I had a bunch of screws on hand from my RC trucks and used one of them with a washer on it. I did drill out the hole just a bit. This upgrade was really very easy, and only took about 20 minutes. It's definatly worth it.

so, I finally got around to ordering these guys, have 3 coming from Uncle Billy and one coming from Baba's Ebay storefront, will have to wait to get Blitzkrieg til next month. My question is, what are the spots to look out for? Would rather not run headlong into things and break something that I could have avoided or corrected before I started messing with them. I know, I could have went through the 400 pages and figured it out on my own, but I'm fat and lazy and want to make sure I have the most up to date info I can get. Thanks in advance.

 

Frustrating tank tracks. I gave up on storing them in leg form and just removed all the extra links, will put back whenever I make him a tank again.

 

As you're getting Armageddon, not Bruticon, you need to be aware of the knee joint on Swindle in combined mode. They fixed it on Bruticon, which I have, so I can't shed much more light on it other than saying it's prone to popping out and detaching the leg from the pants.

I believe there's a fix floating around here somewhere but not sure. You'll need one of the Armageddon owners to shout up for that info.

 

I'm hoping they reissue Onslaught with the fixed knee(s?) because I never got around to getting him despite having the other four. I know he's available from some sellers on eBay still but I'd rather wait and see if Zeta reissues him, since they've done quite a lot of reissues already, so it seems likely. Since they fixed it for the box set, it also seems likely that any future reissues of Onslaught would be fixed too.

 

most of the sites that I frequent have him for about $135 with Robotoybase and Robotkingdom being the cheapest at around $100 but shipping will be more. Bababobo712's Ebay site has him for $136 with free economy shipping, which means you won't get him very fast. TFSouce only has a MIB (used) while BBTS, TCP and A3+ all look to be around the $135 range and Uncle Billy is high at $170.

 

Can someone with the painted set post a pick of Onslaught with other MP bots with a nice finish. Like FT stunticons or Sixshot or blue Galvatron etc

I am really hoping I didn't just get scammed. Placed an order at UncleBillyshop.com, now I can't access my account and the email and facebook address lead nowhere. and the madeinch Ebay store doesn't have hardly any inventory. I guess my only recourse would be to put a complaint with Paypal. I might be freaking out before I need too but things just aren't adding up.

 

Sucks man but Paypal will make it right. Site doesn't even seem to exist.

 

I can't explain why or how, but that same thing happened to me a month ago. Placed an order, and the website went down for days. Got my order fairly quickly afterwards (2 weeks maybe) and the site was back up.

I think he's just having odd issues.

 

His website's been up and down like a yo-yo lately, it seems. One day I could access it, then I couldn't, now I can again (some pages, anyway) and he's redesigned it again.

But Uncle Billy is legit. I've bought from him several times before, both on his website and on eBay under his johonsontony account (you can message him on eBay about orders from his website, by the way - it's probably the easiest way to get a reply from him). I'm sure you'll be fine.

 

update: got ahold of UB via his Ebay store and said everything was cool and that he'd be shipping out by the weekend, so my OCD can calm for a little bit. until I can find something else to obsess about, like having ordered Vortex from baba's Ebay site and waiting on that, or having ordered Silverbolt from Robotkingdom and waiting on that, lol.

 

Oh, you're due a small heart attack when Baba sends you a 5% voucher but no figure yet, then!

 

I'm sure it is coming, lol. I told myself last month that I was going to stay away from China/Hong Kong retailers for a bit until this whole Covid/US-China squabble/USPS holding packages for ransom thing was a bit more sorted out. But, here I sit, lol.

 

You'll be all good with Baba, but best to be prepared for it in advance if it'll set the demons running round the old noggin

 

nah, the only time the demon's get to making noise is when a package hasn't moved in a few days. had a package sit for 10 days in "customs" after it landed in Chicago. but, the local postmaster was cool, he brought it over to me since it got to the post office after my carrier had started his route, I live just outside of town so we have a rural carrier.

 

Got my bruticon metallic version from Baba today. This is my first zeta after much debate with myself and getting majority fanstoys.

Opened the shipping package, prayed to the transformers toys gods for no missing or damaged parts, and dove into it.
Thankfully I did not find any. There were some random scratches coupled in with the nub marks randomly visible that annoy me, because I build gundam kits... otherwise I am actually pretty happy with it. If it wasn't the metallic version I don't think I would be very happy with this bit of kit. Its huuuuuge. Especially compared to my Jinbao OS gravity builder.

Being $420 shipped I can't complain. Got here pretty quick too.

Funny story... turns out my shelving can't handle the extra weight of this guy with my devastator and the original spot turned out to be too short. Had to box'em back up for now.  

 

I got my first three today from Uncle Billy today, chunky dudes. I do have a question though, Isn't Swindle supposed to have 2 rockets to go with the long gun? Mine doesn't have the rockets but it has two handguns. not that it is a big deal as it looks closer to G1 without them, just something that caught me off guard.
