I didn't realize all five Bay movies came out in the couple of years SS has been going. I thought they were a lot older.

honestly the fact that studio series does count movies it does make since to have the 86 movie. Plus because of the virus everything got pushed back so i can accept it that these figures are going to be in the studio series line.

Yeah, they've been going on since 2007 and there's been a steady line of merch for said fans ever since. I can honestly say that no other generation has the same experience. Even G1, for all the attention it gets now, went away for a good while at one point.

I was being tongue in cheek, lol. I don't mind the G1 toys in SS but "they have to add G1 because there's no movie right now" is a weak excuse because all the SS figures sans the Bumblebee ones haven't been adjacent to their movie.

G1 sells better. Period. Or maybe G1 fans outnumber or outspend. Or its that G1 is what mainstream fans imagine when u say, "TF".

Again, its an age thing. I think the franchise is skewing toward nostalgia... While also doing mediocre with the newer Cyberverse stuff.

But BW can easily overtake G1 in popularity (at least temporarily): the secret is a good movie.

Bayverse would have been a colossal failure were it not for a multibillion dollar movie franchise.

I hope Studio Series continues to have plenty of Bayverse characters. I haven’t bought one of those figures in years, as I’ve realized the aesthetic just isn’t for me, but I enjoy seeing other fans happy with their reveals and the diversity it brings to the brand on store shelves.

It's because the Studio Series line is starting to run on fumes when it comes to A-list "anchors" to keep the line going. Sure, there's still lots of D-list background 'bots that some fans would like to see, but those can't get done without some bigger names to actually get the waves sold.

Meanwhile, the G1 guys are getting displaced out of WFC temporarily to make room for Beast Wars.

Honestly, I've got no opinion on that take for the most part (about them needing to be in SS because there's no film). Personally, I always thought the line was going to move towards doing more Bumblebee film designs. Sure we didn't see many of their alt modes on screen but that's never stopped Hasbro before.

they aren't gonna make toys for movies they aren't making yet; keep in mind everything is planned out a few years in advance, but that means that they still had to fill a void. There wasn't enough SS toys to fill the gap until the new movie, and they needed to make room in the WFC trilogy for the beast wars updates.

I saw Fosslizer in the title, then I saw Kup.

It made me think Kup was a Fossilizer. For a moment it made sense.

I do think it is a problem with the design itself. His arms are very skinny.

Alright, that's fair. Like I said, I feel a similar way about Kingdom Warpath. I bet Treds is gonna look nice though, but that's for the Kingdom thread.

Yes but there aren't ports on the body like the WFC Trilogy figures, meaning very limited support for the play pattern Hasbro started with their new wave of G1 figures that was overall well received as a gimmick that improved upon figures without sacrificing any facet of the figure itself.

I mean, I guess, but it is a different toyline. It'd be nice to have, but these are supposed to by HYPER-ACCURATE figures, and most G1 designs didn't have random circular holes and bumps.

To be honest, I miss it as well.
