I have to get off my butt and touch up my MS Prime. I got the painted version, and why they didn't paint the forearm arrows or crest baffles me. Just gotta get the right color paints (light silver and a metallic bronze, ala MP10) and spend 10 minutes with the brushes.

 

Anyone have this wanting to get rid of it? LMK

 

This turned out to be more troublesome than I thought. The surfaces are not as smooth as they appear. However, I am happy enough with the results. Now, time to repro him up.

 

If you didn't like MP sunstreaker transformation you might as well already rule out transform element. Sunstreaker was a breeze in comparison. Magic Square is nice to transform though

As a figure, MS01 is probably the best looking. Of course t's not toon accurate, it's an improved and updated MP10.
For me it's more like MS01 vs MP10 and TE01 vs MP44.
And I have to say that, in my book, both 3p offerings win over TT...

 

Any word for a possible re-release? I'm late to the party and, to me, this is the best looking OP.

 

I'm with you on a re-release however I was on time to the party. I had ordered both TE-01 and MS01 but after 2 weeks I got a notification saying the seller of MS01 was out of stock.

I love TE01, its a great figure but I am really drawn but MS01, it looks very much like the Transformers Devastation video game OP.

I don't want to miss out entirely on this mold and have been considering the Sleep Mode just to make sure I have at least one version in my collection. What are ppls thoughts on the other colours? The way I'd rank them personally:

Original chalky paint
Metallic
Sleep mode
Shattered Glass
Black
Ghost Busters
White

 

Original chalky paint is my favourite too. In person it has a premium feeling to it that even the TE-01 lacks. Really kicking myself for selling it. As much as I like the TE-01, there is something magical about the MS-01.

 

Anyone looking to sell their MS-01X?

 

If anyone has mutiple versions of this, are black and sleep version as good as the original?
From reviews, I can see the original version is very good, but black and sleep versions seem to be a bit more floppy. In Ben's reviews, he was struggled to keep his black OP to stand on its legs.

I'm waiting for my TE-01 but still want to consider one of this mold to be the Nemesis or Sleep mode. Thanks!

 

Is the White Prime MS-01W a strong recommendation for those that own him?

I’m thinking about joining the MS-01 club   Any issues with the Pearl white to be aware or other. Much appreciated the feedback. Thanks in advance.

The only issue I have with the figure is that you have to move his side hip skirts out for almost any leg posing other than bolt upright. It's not too bad and you can keep them close enough that they still look good and don't disrupt his silhouette much, but I prefer when hip skirts only need to be moved for more extreme poses or at least legs out to the side posing. Also I suppose one of his antennae is a little loose but not drastically and certainly not bad enough to complain about.

As for paint, on mine it's immaculate. So damned beautiful. I showed him to my wife recently and I was absolutely gushing about the paint job. She agreed that it is quite striking and ultimately he served to convince her to let me get Firebird Nicee (I like that figure a lot overall but the pearl finish was what made me need her).

Here's a small comic I did using MS-01W for April Fools. The photography doesn't really do the pearlescent finish justice but I think you can gather enough from the different photos to get at least some idea of how good he looks in person. Note, however, that I photoshop out screw and pin holes in my comics so don't use this as a guide for how he looks in that regard. None of the pics give you a very good look at his hips but in the third panel you can kinda' see what I was talking about - you can see just a little bit of the side hip skirt sticking out at an angle, even though his thigh isn't bent outward at all and is only bent a little bit forward.



And here are some more of my pics of him - the first shot gives a pretty good look at the pearl finish on his helmet catching the red from the bigger Magnus' chest ...sooo pretty. I'm working right now but if you want to see anything else specific let me know and I can try to get a pic later.

Will there be another batch? I just got TE 01 and it left me wanting this one... But can only find "dead" and "clear" versions when I want the metalic paint, or at least his basic colors.

BTW, is that purple rifle 3D printed..can’t tell? Looks really good on MS-01W! Can he actually hold it?

 

It's the rifle that comes with the THF KO MP22. The tab doesn't fit into the slot in his palm but it's stable in the two hand pose I used there.
