I'm on fence about selling my current third party Dinobots (planet X) to get a more in scale and CHUG/G1 looking group. They're great figures but they just don't fit in with my collection. I'm looking for Dinobots that are about leader class in scale and the $100 price range for each bot. Any recommendations?

The Planet X ones? Meaning I don’t think there’s any that fall in that price range at the moment.

Toyworld's Dinobots are pretty great to okay chug G1 Dinobots. They are kind of large voyagers.
But Hasbro might produce the Dinobots you want in the studio series line.

They flat out don't exist. Fansproject's are the right price, but about the same size as Planet X's. ToyWorld/Zeta has a set that might fit that budget, but it's a combiner so the limbs are about the same size as PX and FP, but Grimlock is nearly MP-08's size. GCreation has a set that's close but probably a little over your budget, and again it's a combiner. Slag, Snarl, and Sludge are slightly taller than the PX/FP/TW ones, but Swoop is extra taller and Grimlock is, again, around the size of MP-08. And that's basically it for "CHUG" Dinobots. The next size up is Fans Toys, and they're crazy expensive. You might have an easier time getting the Gigapower Dinobots, but they're the biggest of them all and still well over $100 a piece.

All that being said, maybe just be patient. It's been heavily rumored that the '86 movie will appearing in Hasbro's Studio Series line, and both Grimlock and Slag have had leaked mentions of Leader-class figures.

Ty, I'll probably just wait for studio series too see how they look. The gigapower dinos are amazing but I can't find them anywhere where they aren't $250 each.

Just wait for the Studio Series 86 Dinobots. At least Leader Grimlock and Slag are expected.

The metallic Toyworld/Zeta ones are pretty fun toys at that size. The set of 5 is $400 most places. I despise the combiner element, but as CHUG G1 style, they're pretty good. We'll see what happens with the Studio series ones though I guess.

I have full set of FT dinobots for my MP collection, and for my CHUG dinobots, I use this set because I felt they are pretty close in size and image to G1. I hope it can be some reference to you.

    Grimlock: MP08
    Slag, Sludge, Swoop: FPJ ones
    Snarl: TW
    Paddles: PX
    Slash: FPJ

There's gigapower grimlock metallic still available. I think they'll issue battle damaged versions for those for all dinobots.

I suck with scales and "class" sizes, even being an old man and g1...that said, Gcreations? I'm at SZS and looking at merch, there's also this
    Fansproject Saurus thing.

Does anyone know if they're going to reissue all of the gigapower dinos?

Imo that Bullsfire Air Strike (not Swoop) from a few years ago looked pretty nice and was made to be in scale with good old MP Grimlock - who himself was aways more in scale with CHUG figures.

I have a mixed group for my dinos: Planet X metallic Vulcun for Grimlock (I hate the Fansproject one with a passion), Toyworld Snarl, Gcreation Slag, weijiang OSKO of POTP Swoop for...Swoop, and Gcreation for Sludge (although I may sub in Fanstoys if that ever gets reissued, love the idea of Sludge being huuuge).

Then also I have Planet X Paddles, Fansproject Echera and Comera, and POTP Slash because a bigger dino clan is a better dino clan.

You'll certainly come out better financially if you sell PX and get Toyworld or Fansproject, or wait until the Studio Series. I sold off some PX dinos last year for purchase price or more.

I really like the toyworld Dinos, the beast modes especially scale well on a generations shelf :)  I did sub in a POTP swoop though, looks great sitting on slag :D

I have the Zeta (TW) dinos.

The combiner mode is slightly smaller than POTP Predaking but surprisingly stable. Sludge and Snarl are my favorites as far as look and transformation. But they're also smaller compared to Grimlock or even Swoop.

Id say stay away from GCreation, but ive only heard about stability issues in combined mode.

I went with Zeta (TW) because they were affordable, they look very good in robot mode, and some of the transformations are fun. The combiner is a bonus, and it comes with a regular Grimlock-looking face for the combined mode and one that looks like The Beast, if youre ever in the mood to hate life, lol. Also comes with a crown I believe.

I too went TW. I've never been able to let go of Takara Grimlock so, I went that route. They do but, they are too small and their hip ratchets have two teeth... The splits and pee pee stance.

    I mixed and matched mine.

    Grimlock - MP08
    Snarl, Slag - Toyworld
    Swoop, Sludge - FP
