I still find it kind of odd, but just started thinking, maybe they have thoughts of using the Bumblebee shell for Glyph or something else, and wanted to spread the molds around a bit.

Given that this is already our third use of the Cliffjumper tooling (and one of those is just coming out now), I think VW licensing issues are the more likely explanation. If they wanted mold variation it would make more sense to use the Bee tooling.

This isn’t perfectly related, but still somewhat connected to the SG Ratchet figure.

Is there any reason the original SG media used Towline’s body for him rather than the existing Classics Ratchet mold? I understand things like Seaspray using the Shortround / Storm Surge mold, seeing as there wasn’t yet a contemporary “CHUG” Seaspray.

Probably has to due with them using the mold for their 2005 Exclusive.

Oh, shoot, that would make really good sense if I hadn’t made a typo.

I meant to say Roadblock, but my brain has been mush this week. SG Ratchet being based on Roadblock is what confuses me.

SG Ratchet first appeared in 2008. The Universe Ratchet toy didn't come out until 2009.

As much as I would like a Netflix Bumblebee redeco for Glyph, I have a hunch that Hasbro will just do what they did for Selects Bugbite to save on licensing fees. Which option would you prefer?

I don't know that licensing fees are so much the problem as VW's likely opposition to their vehicle being a bad guy. Since Glyph is an Autobot, I think her getting the actual VW Bumblebee mold is much more likely.

I’m hoping for a toy-accurate faceplate, but a cartoon-accurate head would also work.

Last week was the last of the announced Transformerd Tuesdays. Doubt we'll get any official reveals again until Pulsecon, in 10 days.

But it would be accurate to the G1 Micromaster called Hot House. And you only needed to make the panels on @KuleGuy123 's digibash red.
But why always (try to) stick to G1 as close as possible instead of trying to improve things?
