Masterpiece (damn that's a big box) Doritoscream studio series soundwave, the earthrise seeker pack at target.
So what do you guys think of the leaked Kingdom figures and news of a possible titan class ark play set? I'm down for updated beast era figures. Kinda hoping Takara releases them with metallic paint, but we'll see. If the Ark pans out that would be nice. Don't know where I would store it. Hopefully it has a stand alone teletran1 to display.
As cool as the Ark is (could be/may be) it will most likely be the first Titan I skip out on, since I do not really have an association for it other than the G1 cartoon. I am all in on Kingdom so Far. Back in the day, I had to be an Adult when Beast Wars was a thing. I took the "Trukk Not Munky" approach, as a way to stay out of it due to school, being newly wed, and a young father all of which demanded higher priorities. Over the years I changed somewhat embracing it, more and more, and even wound up getting the Shout Factory stuff when it came on the market and the beasties in generations, and T30. I am now convinced that not only did Beast Wars truly save Transformers as a brand keeping it from becoming another fond memory of the '80's it also added to the rich heritage that we enjoy today. I may actually be done with Transformers after Kingdom too. I am really good with what has been happening over the last several years. Course I said that after the Prime Wars Trilogy too, but I think I mean it this time. Also my wallet needs a serious break. 'Dulting is hard Yo!...with the exception of giving the appearance of being a hard-nosed stern professional with unwavering expectations for results and displays of common sense and intelligence, I am a Toy's R' Us kid with a 21-4-Lyfe mentality enjoying transformers, still listening to old school hip-hop, alt-rock, and wishing almost everything would go back to the '90's.
Anyone seen studio shockwave in ABQ lately? I need to replace my broken Chinese ko and I have a custom idea.
Stay young my friend. I was in late middle early high school when Beast Wars hit. I remember having to "grow up" just to fit in with the norm. I still watched the show since it was on after school while I ate a snack and didn't want to do homework. The big draw was when they showed up at the Ark and then I was hooked. I really like the style of all the recent stuff. I had to cut back on 3rd party but can still check out retail figures. I just hate having so many things pushed on us at once with exclusives and preorders. We'll see what comes out next, I'm just glad that I'm getting to a point where I don't NEED to have everything.
Man, you wanna talk about some serious feels going on there. I remember watching that episode on the DVD set, and I was already sold on BW, but WHOA! It just like synced it all together. Gonna have to re-watch them now. Still looking for the Astro Squad micomasters, if anyone sees them, holler.
I picked up DoubleDealer at Cottonwood Walmart yesterday (By the way, no G1 Blasters) using Brick Seek. I counted 3 DD's and the rest were OP. Anyway I just checked Brick Seek for Studio Series Shockwave and the got the following results... so yea, it may be hit or miss, but then again may be accurate. check out below. I will say that at Cottonwood I did not see all of the leaders they had. Some were at the top shelf as excess stock for the floor. I did not recall seeing Shockwave, just Overload, and Scavenger, so that is also something to consider as for the accuracy.
That site says there's 6 overloads at every walmart in my area, so I don't know... Cyberverse arcee and 2 snapdragons at lomas target. Nice to see a full stock of robots after all these picked over displays.
Anyone on the hunt for G.I. Joe? Please let me know if anything gets found here. I did see 1 lone Blaster at Eubank Walmart. They also had the blind packs mini MOTU packs.
Oh, yeah, I am looking for them too. Have not seen any yet. Everything I have been reading makes me think they are slowly trickling out, so it may be while before they get down here. There also seems to be widespread packaging damage from shipping too. I was just glad they were ME style, not that there is anything wrong with O-rings, I just prefer the ME style. I remember when the Joes first came out and I saw them at an old retail chain called Gibson's, must have been "83, and they were 1.93 each. I am still trying to figure out how much that is today with inflation. YoJoe! That actually sounds right for what I saw at the Cottonwood Walmart. Seems like I saw 2 Scavengers and at least 4-6 Overloads. Finally found the Astro Squad micromasters. Picked up the only one left at the Rio Rancho Target yesterday.
Scored, got a snapdragon for me and my son from Wyoming walmart last night. There was also a doubledealer if anyone needs that. Also scored rung and the snake ramp from uptown target.
I got my Airwave from amazon today. And I got a Big Powered finally too. Airwave is fun, I like him more than Ironworks and Big Powered is ridiculous but cool.
