Just reading though the comments, and black washing is one of the easiest things to do yourself. Easy fix.

Totally agree. Black / Brown wash, thinner and a coat of semi-gloss enamel. Nothing more!.

I'm hearing you guys but these things are too expensive to afford trying anything like that on them.

Trust me, it's very easy to do, like the manufacturer does to paint all the figures in mass.

I have noticed a similar trend on the previous Bee & Blitzwing figures where the later batches appear to have less/lighter washes compared to the 1st.

Not sure why this might be the case. It's just an observation. You can check for yourselves over in the other threads. Others have noted this occurrence as well.

I didn't know about Blitzwing got this treatment as well. I was hoping this wouldn't be a pattern in the dlx line but looks like we can expect the same from Soundwave. Right now I can only hope this won't be the case for the premium scale figures coming up.

    Don't fail me Threezero.

Hey everyone! I did a video review of this guy, first on my YT channel, and figured that I would share! It's super basic, but hey, it was a lot of fun and it let me talk about this beautiful figure.

Also, I got mine in March earlier this year from TFSource and it has some of the wash and weathering on the back. Maybe not quite as much as some other copies but it is definitely there.

So I just got mine from KGHobby and it was definitely worth every penny. It's as impressive as everyone says and you can feel the quality just by holding it and looking at all the crisp details and sculpt work. The black wash on the back, while much lighter than on the review samples (and the 1st batch copies I believe), it's still there even if you have to look very closely in some areas (it is also kind of concealed by the dark hue of the red but I don't really mind as they blend together quite naturally). No complaints about the weathering on the rest of the figure.

The only gripe I have is the external part of the left knee joint (the one with the gas tank attached to it) making a slight clicking noise when bending the knee, it is also a bit loose in there but doesn't affect the movement or anything. Has anyone encountered this?

I believe the clicking is just the way it's meant to be due to the mechanisms. There are 2 joints, so i'm guessing depending on which joint moves first, pieces might interact differently hence one knee might click whilst the other doesn't.
On another note, though I never noticed any difference in paint weathering regarding earlier and later batches of Optimus, I just picked up a DLX Bumblebee reissue and the paint weathering is definitely less heavily applied than my earlier copy.

Not sure it's meant to be that way since the right leg works smoothly and the piece is firm on that one. Like I said, it doesn't affect the joint at all so no big deal.

If I may ask.. what made you decide to pick up a second copy of DLX Bee?

To display one in battle mode (Mask and gun and the other in regular mode.
However I just spotted a problem with my new Bee... 20201009_220812.jpg

Understandable. I might do the same if I don't pick up the premium scale one.

I looked closely trying to spot the problem you're talking about but I was not successful.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it. That's a bummer. Threezero is kind of a strange company. On one hand they offer great quality and engineering but on another they still manage to pull off sh*t like this. I know how you feel, trust me.

You should still try contacting custommer support about this, they're usually quite helpful form my experience.

Aside from 2 right feet it looks like you are missing the wrist cover on the right arm as well.

I know that's not the best solution, but you can buy the KO version, the parts are totally interchangeable.

Just got my Optimus today. What a glorious piece! Made me fall in love with Bumblebee all over again too. Looking forward to Soundwave and hope they make a few more Autobots.

I opened it. It's a BEAST. Only one complaint: the stand base has "Bumblebee logo" on it but no "Optimus Prime" or Autobot logo.

Heavy, sturdy, ultra articulated, the paint is insane and it's a high quality product. I'm planning to buy the genuine Bee (I have the KO now).
