High ankle sprain in college while playing basketball. I sprained this same ankle really bad twice when I was younger and the pain never completely went away, then I sprained it in college and it blew up like a balloon. I limped around for two weeks and even continued to play basketball on it like an idiot. I probably should have gone to the doctor now that I think about it. The swelling never completely went away and is still swollen today, some 20 years later.

Lumbar sprain. When I was about 13, I was playing around on a metal slide with some friends in the rain. I slipped because the slide was wet and my lower back landed on the edge of the slide. If there was a "Ridiculousness" back then, this slip and fall would have made the top 3 fails. I couldn't walk straight for two weeks.

    • Age 7 - Broke my right arm when I fell off the firemen pool on my school's playground, my arm slammed on the platform I was standing on while falling. Then the nurse made me take off my hoodie... with a broken arm.
    • Age 9 - Broke a vertebra in my back when I Backflipped of a mountain board while going sown a Steep hill.
    • Age 14 - Got bitch slapped by a car when I went on a bike ride. The plot twist was that I was fine. Just cut the back of my leg. Destroyed that assholes rearview mirror with my helmet;)

Bro, I feel your pain. During the downtime of 7th-grade final exams, my female friend and I got into an argument. When I was going to leave, she (who has anger issues) got up and kick me in the balls. I didn't talk to her all summer.

Ouch! When I got kicked over there it was by accident, it was some kicking exercise where you’re supposed to hold someone’s hand and kick their back with your front leg, so I got paired with a kid who can’t kick really high so when he was trying to kick my back he missed and kicked my balls

Barely cracked finger bone after punching in the face some older kid who was bullying my younger brother. I was something like 15.

When I gave birth to my kid, her big head ripped my vajay coming out and I needed stitches. They said "its' only a small tear". Apparently it was the smallest grade tear you can get and I only need 1 stitch, but it hurt to sit or use the bathroom for 1 month +.

When I was about 28 or something, I got bruised ribs when I got hit by a car and flew a few meters through the air. Hurt like hell. Worst pain I ever had. And the Tramadolor I got didn't have much effect on me, but was the strongest painkiller they could hand me. Breathing felt like my ribs were sawing off my flesh and as if my torso flesh would not sit in the right place over my bones where it was supposed to sit. Never want to experience that ever again.

Oh and a few years later I had a broken meta carpal bone when I casually hit a concrete wall out of anger while walking by. That one I didn't even notice, my neighbor told me to go to the hospital when she saw my hand was swollen.

Another thing where I was rather lucky was, when I was in my mid 30s and wanted to inhale my asthma inhaler and then I felt how everything was going to be dark as I was passing out. I tried to avoid falling but then it was dark and I felt 2 times like tremors of slow motion in my head. Then it felt like an eternity later when time moved normal again and I realized I was lying on the floor. I head a serious head ache. When I went to the bath room I saw a bleeding wound in the center of my forehead.

Judging by my position before and after passing out, I'm positive I must've landed with my head on the edge of my square glass table on my way to the floor. So I'm glad nothing worse happened. Who knows when somebody would've finally broken into my place to see what happened to me... That moment more than anything else in my life taught me, that life could be over anytime. Things might happen where you don't have any control over the situation without any announcement. It might be over before you know it.

Ah, when I was 10 I fell over the handle bars of my bmx into broken glass of beer bottles lying around in the hills. When I went home I thought I was sweating so heavily, because my socks felt so wet. Until I looked to find out that I cut through my calf and my white sock turned dark red. I still have a 10cm scar there. It got smaller by the years, but will probably never go away completely.

Had that twice, last time it took hours until the doctor was finally in and they nearly had to amputate it. Never had such a big ball and it's no fun either. Felt like going crazy, because there was no position you could assume where the pain was lesser, it was just constant.

I got expelled for being thrown down the stairs by bullies in 6th grade for "causing a disruption" and the reason for being expelled was it happened multiple times.

Trust me, it doesn't get any better if you're on the teacher/staff side of things. I know of instances of staff getting disciplined for yelling at kids, because it might hurt the kids' "feelings." And we're talking kids who are getting yelled at (and should get yelled at!), because they are bullying others, calling others bad names, physically attacking others, etc.

It's like the worst students (bullies, sociopaths, psychopaths, liars) are often treated as sacred cows that can do no wrong and never receive any meaningful discipline or consequences, and the good students who stand up for themselves and the staff who bust their butts and are actually responsible adults get the short end at every turn.

As for my worst injury, I got tripped and broke my wrist in fourth grade.

Well in fourth grade I ran from class to the bathroom because I was a dumbass kid. Then I slipped on a wet pile and broke my leg. I had to stay out of school for a week for it to heal.

The school horror stories in my country are also pretty bad, but I didn't expect American schools to be that horrendous either. Is this a new thing or something that's been going on forever?

Words cannot describe the anger I got from reading this. I hope you're doing better now!

In kindergarten, I was tossing a tiny little ball with my friend and his neighbors, when somebody missed catching it and it rolled out onto the road. They told me it was a new ball and they wanted me to get it. So they stood and watched as I ran across a very busy street, ran down the other side of the road after the ball, slipped, and broke all three bones in my left arm. They let my parents know that happened a few minutes later, and they came to help me up off the sidewalk. Also apparently I nearly got ran over by a truck. So I'm glad I was going full speed, I guess? And funny thing, it took a week for us to realize I didn't just have a bruise. I still did things like go swimming or occasionally toss the football with my dad.

I was playing ball with another kid in third grade. I fell on the hard concrete blacktop and scraped both knees. Now, what’s the problem? Every kid scrapes their knees. But this was really bad. I was bleeding down my legs, and there was tons of it. Soon I noticed pus on my shins, trickling down and staining my socks. My right knee had a massive 3-inch scar. I politely declined help from the kid and walked to the nurse myself. The biggest bandages they had were scrounged up for me, but even they were too small. I still have a black spot in my knee, and I still have no idea what it is.

That same year, I developed a strange growth on my chin that bled sometimes. I got it lazered off. I screamed so loud I couldn’t even hear myself screaming.
I have no idea what that is. Please do not tell me.

Just a little over 10yrs ago when I was a veterinary tech, I nearly had half of my right ear bit off by a Rottenweiler-mix I was restraining. He flipped out and started struggling before the doctor (also my exGF) could do her exam. None of the dingbats I was working with had the smarts to tell me the muzzle was off or to let go, and WACK, the SOB tagged my ear.

I waited in the ER for over 2hrs for the doctor - cool guy who is apparently one of the best cosmetic surgeons in the US, and who's also client for the place I work for now. My ex came to pick me up and brought my favorite smoothie to cheer me up - one of the few nice things she did for me during those times. When I went to have the stiches removed, I asked the doc how bad it really was. He said, "Well, I wanted you to be calm, so I didn't say anything negative. Now that you are almost healed....the rip on your ear was so big you could have drove a bus through it." Only thing that was holding it together at the bottom was a thin string of flesh.

    There ya go!

    :thumbs2:
