Really wished we got this Skylynx instead

 

I dunno, I like it, but the minor differences aren't that big, and while I am not a G1 hardliner who insists it looks G1, I like that what we got looks damn close to the original. This version looks more like the CW version.

 

I have to disagree, that is messy looking.

 

A lot of concept art for Transformers toys look messy, but are often watered down in release. CW Skylynx is a pretty obvious example. I prefer the concept art for ER Lynx because... I sorta hated skylynx’s design to a certain extent? He just look a goose’s head on a space shuttle and it always looked silly. The art really does try to make him look cool and succeeds it. I still love ER Sky Lynx, but that concept art is just... rad

 

I'm more than happy with the Sky-Lynx we got.

Even paid full price for him with no regrets whatsoever.  

 

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG.. just the "feet/claws" part would have been amazing... the rest is just like a serious masterpiece in details and less "cartoonish".

I'm now wishing that it does get done at some point as a V2.

 

Fair point, you haven't seen anything for the cancelled Micromaster satellite partner have you?

 

Unfortunately I haven’t heard anything regarding the micromaster. By the time the toy hit packaging phase he was already cut.

 

It looks less like a plane-bird on top of a robot lion, and more like a massive dragon wearing a space shuttle as armour.

 

From what I've seen they were literally going to reuse an existing minicon - potentially a TT exclusive mold?

 

Maybe the one that came with omega supreme? He was already a space vehicle.

 

I was hoping he’d get a recolour, it’s such a cool design. I’m amazed there’s talk of literal minicons being rereleased.

 

Not nearly as awkward inhand as in the promo pictures, so typical toy photographer mishandling as usual.

Nice simple transformation, everything tabs together nice and secure in both modes, and it looks like it did in the movie. Pretty much a perfect deluxe.

 

MINI-CONS?!?!?!?!

 

Aha, did some googling, apparently it was Astroscope from the space mini-con team.

It was meant to be a nod to the shuttle being used to launch the Hubble I believe.

 

I want multiple right now. This might be the only time I buy multiple of a deluxe and not immediately regret it.

What's holding those gator arms on the bot mode arms?

It almost looks like a screw.
