Not sure if you're specifically referring to Perfect Effect, but PE creates upgrades. Regarding their original designs, it was mostly them dipping their toes. Excluding the BW designs, the figures were meant to replicate the original gimmicks of certain characters, such as Ginrai's core 'bot, and Magnus' de-armored configuration. If Hasbro cracked down on every fandom-run third party that created their own takes on things (that then encourage people to buy mainline stuff to complete their collection), then they'd be out of a fandom.

 

I'm hoping in the end,Kingdom Ultra Magnus will be a mixture of all the rumors said about him. That for his white cab section it'll be based on the ER Optimus mold retooled to carry,and not buckle under the armor while his trailer is retooled from the Siege trailer to look and function more like the original car carrier trailer from G1 while of course having elements of the Siege trailer like how the leg armors are formed.

 

All Phamduc said was "Earthrise Magnus (white prime)" - he could easily have been referring to the fact that Earth Magnus, like Siege Magnus, will have a white Optimus inner robot. He never said it would be ER Optimus in white.

 

Only if you care about the G1 and Beast Wars cartoons. For the rest of us, 2021 sounds extremely boring. At least we'll have Selects...

 

If you don’t care for Transformers G1, the 1986 animated film, or Beast Wars season 1 I really question what on earth has brought you into the fandom. Nearly every iteration since has used these as a foundation.

Err the films, they are at least very different in style to the other lines and do have there own section of the fan base.

 

They also have their own threads. Not that I dont want you here, but if you arent a Beast Wars fan why come to a beast wars thread?

I don't know. I'd say it's entirely possible given that the BW figures seem to be figuring out how to do realistic beast modes first and bot mode accuracy seems to be a secondary concern.

Every Transformers series is someone's first Transformer series.

Beast Wars was mine.

The Unicron Trilogy was someone else's.

The Bayverse Films were someone else's.

And so on and so fourth.

Which makes sense when you think about it. "Robots in Disguise" you want your transforming robot toy to look like the thing its turning into. As for the robot mode As long as they're "close enough" I'm good.

 

Yeah, but if the Bay movies specifically are your core franchise for fiction and design you are at a distinct disadvantage......

 

What is ‘the anime’?

Japanese G1? Car Robots?

 

Design is subjective though. Personally, I prefer many of the designs to their earlier iterations, certainly the concepts within. AoE fashioning the Autobots after particular historical warriors (knights, ninjas, etc), the dinobots being knights themselves, Devastator being any number of constructicons and so large that they're forced to lumber around. Plenty of fantastic concepts with varying results. To me.

 

Car robots and the Unicron Trilogy. The anime series airing in the early 2000s

 

Beast Warriors with a knight motif would be cool. Or samurai in the case of Dinobot.

Tigatron being a Bengal Tiger could have a Hindu look to him.

Airazor being a Falcon could have an Egyptian look as a nod to Ra.

Basically move the timeline from 4 million years in the past to 4 thousand years or less and have them inspire various mythical beings with animal motifs. Like take all the crazy ancient aliens theories and apply that to BW and run with it.

 

I'm sorry but that feels like a pretty elitist mindset. Fans shouldn't have to be required to enjoy G1 or BW in order to be a TF fan. Not everyone shares the same type of interests,likes,and dislikes with each other.
