Aahh that sucks, understand your disappointment.

the more I look at those (great) pics you are all providing, the more I find the critics directed to this set quite harsh (especially Volatus). Looking forward to finally completing my Combaticons, it's been a long journey ...

Why? Now you have a second Volatus to display either in bot or alt mode.

Wow. I love the individual bots, and I am quite happy with the set as that is my focus.

Combined mode is trash. The elbows are literally the only combiner joints that can handle any of this. This thing is like TFC Superion bad. It almost reminds me of an old GI Joe with a failing O-ring.

Enough negativity. I love how each guy is a different height. They look great together.

Thanks! It took me a while to get Swindle and Brawl to support Onslaught’s weight, gave up when I couldn’t, then remembered I had a Volks Dollfie Dream stand that could help, invoked the powers of Zeta partsforming with that stand and suddenly I realized here’s a photo worthy moment haha!

Thanks!!! It was a fun evening with these bots. I’ve yet to fully combine them as I’m still in the honeymoon phase of playing around with individual bot and alt modes before merging for the long term.

Was just thinking about the success of this project and wondering just how far along the Maximus Pro project is. The success of Assaultus didn't just happen by chance. Countless hours over the last few years from sharp minds, clever engineers, talented artists & creative photographers pooling ideas & energy into one vision. Perhaps you could indeed say it was a team of combiner minds that delivered a united product. So to LazyAza, Chogoking, Hardreturn and every other person involved I say thank you. And in particular I hope each of you are reprising your old roles already as we all await for a glimpse of Maximus Pro

I tried for 30 minutes to see if I could set them up without a stand, failed each time... it could be because I was sort of buzzed and stupid from my 1st can of apple cider during that time.

Nah, I'm sending it back at the seller's expense. They've always taken really good care of me and this was an honest, easy to make mistake in a hurry. In fact, I was in a rush when I opened the package and I didn't notice until a minute later myself.

Not that I've found. Just make sure you fold the flap all the way first on the hinge, that'll give you the most room to work with.

If you fold the flap all the way first you have a lot of room to work with. I managed to get it with no damage at all.

I'm still waiting on both my Volatus and Probus to arrive, so I haven't dived into the stress some of you are wrestling with re: shoulder replacements. just so I've got this straight though, knocking out the pin and removing the flap it holds in place will enable a better chance at no stress marks on the surrounding plastic. Then when said shoulder is replaced replace pin and flap - and pin stays tight still?

Yes this is accurate. Stress marks aren’t the only concern if you don’t remove the pin first, it’s possible to completely break the narrow part of the hinge on the front shoulder piece. I would say removing the pin is an essential step, not an optional one.
