So, finally got around to putting batteries into Incursus — and nothing. No light. So I took the head apart to see if there was anything I could do and two pieces of small metal fell out and I have no idea where they go. What I believe to be the switch itself moves very easily, and when it’s depressed all the way down nothing happens. I’m hoping someone might have a recommendation on a fix I can try.

I thought maybe the metal parts were supposed to provide friction for the head sliding up and down so the head doesn’t slide down and hit the switch to always on, but not 100% on that. Not sure how to get the switch out without damaging the entire assembly, as it looks like the tabs were soldered in place after installation. Any ideas?

When I transformed my Probus and reached the point in his transformation to bot mode where you extend the legs, a random screw fell out yet all the screws in his legs and lower body are accounted for, completely baffling - anyone have an idea what happened?

Well, some good news. Replacement Onslaught came and confused the shit out of current Onslaught.

    20200910_121857.jpg

All seriousness though, this is probably the closest I have to a perfect copy so far. Just having a little more trouble than usual with arms for some reason, odd. Gonna see about putting on a coat of floor polish on the silver and green painted parts just for safe measure. Just gotta get the return instructions from BBTS and buy a label and boom, out with the old and in with the new. Afterwards I can finally get Brawl and Blast Off to ship out.

@LazyAza Quick question while it's fresh on my mind. Any knowledge on the exact silver used for Onslaught?

I noticed that Probus has slots in his shoulders, forearms, and thighs on the sides, what are those for? They dont seem to play a role in any mode.

I think the fires delayed mine a day but I got him last night and he's so great!

So large and chonky (and refreshingly simple!)

And I've finally combined them all for the first time, too, and HOO BOY what a set this is. Love it SO SO much. Huge congrats to mmc for pulling this bad boy off. Can't wait to see what's next!

Done, Brawl didn’t even make it into robot mode bc of time constraints, but I’ll get to it sometime next week!

Thanks for the journey MMC!!! I’m looking forward to the Protectobots (who I’m not even really interested in, but, at this quality, I will buy).

Operating on Incursus thigh is a success. I make a carboard piece of paper to put into ratchet socket ( 1 piece is enough ) to tighten the room for the spring. Now it take slightly more force to make the combined thigh position to droop down.
Incursus leg is pinned and screw so I won't work on it.
even with his feet not properly grounded due to poor ankle tilt , his articulation is now akin of a SOC figure.
I will take some photo soon , maybe adding more force into one of this thigh. he is more bearable now.
    but one more thing
the replacement shoulder ratchet they provide with probus is excellent! I demand a second one to replace on vortex side.

I've been messing with my set all week. I forgot to take pics of Bruticus. Anyone know why Swindle is the only figure out this set that doesn't have ab crunch? I wish he did.

I do love this camera angle, which makes the table top look like it's the floor (given the cupboard and dishwasher? in the background). It makes the bots look huge!

So far twice, so that sliding part gives him ab crunch? I didn't notice it

For a toy made in China? The answer will likely be 'silver'. Whatever they had laying around the factory that day. Unless it's something where a very specific pigment was demanded and made a point of it because it was critical to the look (like something that is painted half warm silver and half cool silver for a two-tone effect), most things are just painted "silver" in the end, and you hope to get a smooth look instead of a glittery look... (the same usually goes for "black" and "white" and other "very basic colors"----Boeing was said to have 108 shades of white at the peak, and Delta and British Airways appear to use the 'warmest' ones----but don't expect a model airplane factory to use anything other than 'white' for all jetliners even if you specify "one swatch over on the Pantone chart")

Colors are often dependent on "what the factory has leftover from a previous project, and how close that looks to what the new project is asking for...."

You can ask them to use "red 108D" but if they've got a bunch of "red 108C" sitting there, waiting to be used---you can assume the factory owner (who usually has final say in almost everything) probably isn't going to order a new custom-mix blend of "one shade different red" when he can increase profit by using an existing color that's close enough. Not that I know anything about MMC's factory, but I have followed many a project in China from various companies and seen how and why colors and materials get changed/altered/errors.

No, he says there is no ab-crunch because that rigid sliding rail section occupies the same space that ab articulation probably would.

It is a very interesting use of perspective! Reddit loves it, and I usually take pics of all my big bots on it.

I still think they could’ve implemented an ab crunch, but it’s a totally understandable choice in the grand scheme of things. If they ever have to do similar styles of size compression with figures I hope they aim to give equal articulation like the others.
