Zero Sanding, Zero Modding, with a flawless transformation that really only takes about 15 minutes, 20 tops. This figure is amazing.

Sorry, but people should really stop complaining about the difficulty levels of some of these toys. If you grew up playing with these things (had my first one at 1 yrs old in the 80s) then almost any of these will be pretty simple. You fingers and brain just get wired for it. But, if you really didn't play with a lot of transformers growing up, and starting buying them as you got old cause they looked cool, then maybe figures like this will seem "overly complicated".

But really, this thing is engineering genius, and nothing needs to be sanded if you do it 100% right. I would put this figure at a much lower difficulty level than both Fans Project Menasor and gcreation shuraking. Its not fragile, its not misaligned, and its not mis-engineered.

If anyone is on the fence because of reading otherwise, understand that it's user error and not the figure.

One QC error though. Was missing a pin. Built a new one with some metal cutters and a nail.

You aren’t kidding. I’ve never spent so much $$$ on anything other than electronics “just for fun,” and every time I think maybe it was a little extravagant, I take a look at this guy and realize it was totally worth it. I’m happy for those looking forward to Haslabicron but I have zero buyers remorse or regret for the choice to get my boy here.

Yeah, I bought this, Haslabcron and have the Amazon edition and was planning to sell them as a set. But once my wife saw the transformation of Studio Cell, she told me I had to keep it. She's amazed how that thing turned into such a compact sphere. Got mine from Robotoybase. Think it was $200 at the time with $75 shipping.

Planet to robot is even easier. Going to planet mode takes about 15-20 min. Going to robot mode takes 10 min tops. It is possible to memorize after your first transformation. I mean, the alt mode is a ball, pretty easy to figure out where the panels fold and turn.

I really don't think Haslabcron will be any easier. Looking at it, it looks like it takes the same amount of steps or more and the results are no where near as good. Plus the size and bulk may require you to go more slowly

Also, I'm tired of the excuse that Haslab sacrificed robot mode for planet mode accuracy. That's like saying 1st edition AOE optimus Prime sacrificed robot mode for truck mode. A pretty alt mode is simple stupid easy to do. What is challenging is coming up was a transformation that achieves a "as close as possible" alt mode and robot mode.

I mean really!, when the hell has an alt mode looked shitty?!?!, Hasbro has never had an issue making a truck, tank, space shuttle, sports car, or rocket base! Of course they are not going to have a problem making a giant beach ball. The challenge is in making a transformation with Minimal kibble and an articulate robot mode.

Regardless, I really do like Haslabcron, its size and detailed line sculpt are cool; he looks more modern (as in detail, not transformation). But I tire of the "sacrifices made for planet mode speech".

It's simply that Hasbro wasn't trying to make a masterpiece figure.

Classics Ironhide/Ratchet is pretty hideous. Albeit true to the original, Siege Apeface’s jet mode is basically a brick. I’m sure there are others but that’s off the top of my head.

For fuck sakes. You're missing the point.

    The whole point was.

People say hasbro made sacrifices to create a pefect planet mode.

Sorry, but thats like saying the two product above are awesome transforming toys because of how accurate the car and truck modes are.

But they technically did. Just like how this figure sacrifices how the planet looks for an accurate robot. The planet surface details just wouldn’t make an accurate robot. And if they did, that’s too much small engineering given the size. I mean it makes sense since unicrons planet mode is equally iconic if not more iconic. Compromises are made in all products.

Ok so I just placed an order for this figure with Showzstore and they claim he is in stock. It doesn't mention anything on the product page about their listing being a preorder for the reissue, OOS or otherwise. Is it actually in stock?

Link to the page I bought him from: 01-Studio CELL aka ZV-02 Core Star Lord of Chaos

I must be missing something...based on what you said, where is the potential doubt coming from regarding him being in stock?

I was under the impression the 1st run of Cell was sold out everywhere. There's a separate link under the Preorder section for the reissue coming in a couple months.

Ahhh, I gotcha. He's sold out some places, but he's still available at a handful of sites I frequent.

Well, in my opinion, when you factor both modes Haslab Unicron is the one closer to the character.
