Forgot to bring this up. I got the guy earlier this week, and I think he's awesome! I did need to look up instructions since the in-package ones stink... For now, "Nova Primal" shall stand with my Ancestrod and REd Bull, waiting for Hornet tiger to show up.
alright, I'm taking that it doesn't come with a battery then. Good. I was worried for a minute there.
For me, the only chrome I don't like is on the ape face.

The apeface and bot face just look bad to me. The hands/chest and other areas is fine, but the faces lose their details because of the chrome to me

It is the CR927. And the eyes are red.

Got mine in today, and I'm still in love with this mold. I picked up the original GT-10 as an impulse buy and it rocketed up to the top of my favourite figures list, so I was looking forward to having a pair. I gotta say the tightness of some pieces had me second guessing myself during transformation so I definitely don't see myself messing with it as much as the original release but it definitely stands out on the shelf. The chrome looks better in person too, the details don't look so dull. Also, is that the Enterprise in the top right corner of the boxart?

I have the original Black version of this. It is really very easy to loosen or tighten the joints just by manipulating the screws that hold the joint together. Once I did this to the original figure it was much more enjoyable for me as mine was very loose in it's legs. This truly is a great design. Now go ahead and try out your copy and enjoy.

It's not a case of screws being too tight, it's the paint/plastic tolerances that are causing the issues. For example the chrome on the hands make the fingers tighter, or some excess plastic on a tab/panel keeping it from popping into place as smoothly as it did on the OG Gorilla. The only problem I had regarding tolerances on the original was the obvious "flappy foot syndrome" everyone gets.

Got mine today. Transforming his legs and and folding his back panels was pretty tough with how stiff it was. Got a little paranoid about possibly breaking it. I suppose this will become easier over time by transforming it.

He looks so good. Can’t wait to get mine! He’s sitting in a stash at Chosen Prime for now, though, until something else comes in to bump it up to free shipping.

I saw that too. Wonder if it's a nod to Mugato or just something random...

Also, I think my figure's thumbs are on the wrong hands. It seems like the hollow part of the thumb tip should be facing down instead of up, so I swapped the thumb assemblies.

Did my best to remake some of the best poses I saw of this guy. Really love this figure. Only problem I have with it is popping out the sides of the legs to make them longer/shorter. I have to apply more force then I'll like to get them to open which makes me worried a little bit about chipping the peg. Still a great figure!

Anyone else who got this thing... where in the packaging would one locate the alternate faceplate? I'm curious about the more traditional "closed" one, versus the Primal one that reveals the mouth. I can't seem to locate mine in the box anywhere, and am wondering if it wasn't included.

Should just be in a tiny baggie inside the box, I don't recall it being to hard to locate so you might be missing that piece

Cool, thank you for the reply! Hmm, yeah, I'll double-check but I don't think I saw anything like that in there. Will probably have to contact the seller.

    Thanks again!

(It's funny, because if it were the Primal version, I wouldn't care, since I'd WANT the opened faceplate. But for Magnus I feel like it should be the closed one. Ah well.)

For anyone who has both this mold and the original Primal colors, which do you prefer in hand? I've read that the joints are improved on this version, but also possibly at the cost of some tolerances being too tight?
The original mold looks a bit better to me in pictures due to all the color contrast, but I've been told that the pearlescent white and chrome look excellent in hand. I'm looking for a figure that both looks good and is fun to transform, so if the new white mold has better joint tolerances (less floppy hips or knees), that's excellent. Any additional opinions would be appreciated!

I only have the new white & chrome version and I really love this guy. His fingers and leg panels came pretty stiff but loosened up after a couple transformations. The white and chrome does look better in hand. This video right here shows how it would look to you in person.

Between the two I would go with the new one since it is still available at some sites as opposed to the original which you can only get on Ebay.

This video has some ready good poses for his Gorilla mode. Helps alot since there isn't many poses you can put him in while in ape mode

Eyeballing this guy pretty seriously. He’s about 9” or so, right?

Just ordered him from Chosen Prime. Hope to have him soon. For some reason the regular deco does nothing for me but the white and shiny chrome sing to me.
