Yep, agreed 100%. Same here. That folded open base mode has me as excited as the full transport mode. Both look like they'll be massive fun!

I'm still really hesitant to grab this figure. Not because I don't want it, but because I really prefer the Powered Convoy color scheme and the super mode design. I'm just not sure if I can justify both. What's the asking price on this one so far? EDIT: I've realized that, if I buy both, I can (theoretically) put the regular hero color figure into the armor and leave the blue and black one out so I can get the best of both worlds!
I had actually considered two, but I think I'll wait to see what the recolor will be before getting a second one.
I can always sell the second one to fund a repaint I love unexpectedly. But I have a small fear that these guys aren’t getting repainted. Maybe battle convoy will be retooled into powered convoy, but I’m a little hesitant to just assume wadruderos and this will get repaints.

Actually I do want to acknowledge that They tried to mimic the truck mode, but id argue that's a letdown. You can tell its forced. The way it looks best is when the top part is incorporated into the trailer and the legs go into the trailer. Pretty sure the legs are a roller reference, and it looks better when it's placed where roller goes
It's much different than I expected. I was thinking it would be a more traditional cab. I can see why you don't like it. I'm not super impressed with it to be honest, but I was the same way with Battle Buffalo and Big Powered. After I got them in hand I loved both of them. One thing I love about the line is the "fidgitability" of the figures, I bought one even though I am don't particularly like the truck, but I know at the very least I'll love messing with the base.
There's always one I guess..... I fully appreciate how they were able to immediately evoke Convoy without it being an actual semi-truck cab, which would have been pretty mundane for this line.
Oh no. The future earth and space defenders with crazy vehicles that convert into piloted robots that fight a hive like alien force in their even crazier robot suits didn’t make a cab for their battle trailer look like a vintage earth truck. They’re doooooomed.

I dont think that's the problem. It just doesn't look fluent at all. Maketoys optimus looks futuristic, but it still looks like a truck. Theres really no transformation attempt to make it look more truck like at all. They just slapped the helicopter mode on top of roller and just said there you go. Truck. It looks better when it stops trying to be a truck honestly
I like how the robot mode is squat and a big stubby like the original toy. Also the golden satellite antenna pairs on his chest are freaking awesome. Phariod going to be pissed when he find out the line after WFC is retooled diaclone viserisers with light modules instead of cockpits. I drink the diaclone juice and can tell you that both of the machine modes are awesome because I have all the other reboot herb, sugar and spice which will pimp them out. Alone they look cute and I'm down with that sort of thing too.
in the original Diaclone line, the car robots were supposed to be undercover mechs to fight off waruders in cities without distressing the public first.

what are you talking about on the middle line? like, is it a sort of 'ha this guy is gonna be mad when this highly improbable thing which will never happen... happens' deal because it does not make sense to me at all, even just for the fact that the cost of the Diaclone line makes it seem super unlikely any of the molds could even be carried over. Also the verserisers are like, just add ons for the triverse stuff essentially? but in any case Convoy looks cool and fun I like him
I like the idea of a trailer/base setup, especially since they have the inside configurable. Without the rover attached, it reminds me of a giant drop ship to unleash raid chambers. Like a flying battle buffalo. I am out of desk space though, so going to have to figure out how to fit this thing.
