Finally had a chance to have a good play with him and pop an insignia on, really impressed. I've transformed him back and forth a couple of time and it's a great little transformation, not overly complex but very clever. The metallic paint job is gorgeous but it's causing a bit of glare of my very amateurish photography set up lol.

    Nice shots :)

I have both the metallic and the original, I prefer the metallic as a stand-alone. I’m keen to get my hands on the Newage effort as well so I can do a proper comparison. They’ve been trading blows with MS for a while now, both companies have some stellar figures in their line-up. From photos I’m leaning toward MS as the lines are cleaner and the arms are thicker and better proportioned. I like the back and the legs of Newage though.

For now I just can’t stop fiddling with this metallic MS version - ironically he looks amazing with the Newage Toy Deco Reflector.

Does anyone know if I order the metallic version from showz does it still come with laserbeak despite not being a “preorder”?

Thanks! I need a better camera/set up. I used to do this a LOT, there's even some of my galleries up on websites here and there but it's been years(a decade?) since I took it seriously.

Indeed this guy has given me a taste for Legends, I may look into geting some more... maybe as a TF:TM collection to compliment the Zeta Unicron I have coming. I've been looking at the Megatrons and I think I actually prefer the slighter-built Newage to the more 'buff' Magic Square version.

I've only been taking toy photography seriously for about a year, but I have immensely enjoyed doing it when I have the time. It helps that photography is part of what I do for work, so I have some nice equipment to work with. The new legends toys are just amazingly good, and being able to fit so many together really lets you do a lot more with them - here's a few oldies:

Cool photos! And they make me nostalgic for when IF was doing Cybertronian alt-modes. Hopefully they mix things up again in the future.

My metallic Voice Ripple just arrived. Holy crap, he looks great! I'm normally not big on fully painted figures 'cuz I don't want to have to worry about them being damaged but he is just spectacular. I'm debating the decals - I'm definitely going to be using some of them but others feel like they might just be watering down the experience, especially since I've got the toy version of Newage's Soundwave pre-ordered to fill my super stickered Soundwave need. One nice thing is that he's got a slick glossy clearcoat so the shiny decals won't contrast with his finish like they do on the flatter regular version. I love seeing Laserbeak through his smoked window. Now the question is what to do with him - does he become my main Legends Soundwave while his plainer looking brother becomes a standalone or does he outshine the rest of my collection so much that he has no choice but to be the standalone?

Yeah, I was expecting to make Newage my Soundwave after getting the MS Soundblaster, but that MS metallic Soundwave just looks perfect. It convinced me to get the cassettes too.

It's a real toss up for me who wins between MS and NE for each character even though I keep trying to lean NE.

I'm the opposite: I lean MS, but damn some of those NA figures are pretty tempting. I'm enough of a sucker for both Soundwave and the toy look that I had to get the toy version of NA's but damn, I hate those tapes. At least in their "tape mode" - they don't look like tapes at all. Still, I'm excited to have the toy Soundwave along with MS's metallic.

got mine today, should have been two days ago but local postal service misdirected it.

but that's cool, as i also go my metallic JB OSKO of NA megatron as well today… and what a pair!!! :D

checked it over and all looks good, no missing/double hands, laserbeak present, and paint app looks good. surprisingly given the paint cassette front cover goes down much easier/further than my soundblaster.

i'll do one transformation of him just to check to make sure everything is in order, but after that he'll remain in bot mode permanently i think.

yep, like you i'm debating adding a few of the decals on. and again like you i'm probably getting NA soundblaster (at least one if not more) so i think i'll hold off for now and see.

Full disclosure, I absolutely love this thing. Mine came with a wicked scratch on his shin so I covered him in stickers! Not as nicely (or correctly) applied as @Snaku but not too shabby I hope, I'm really happy to have such a great legends Soundwave:D

Nice pics of the stickers applied guys. I have my MP Soundwave and G1 reissue all stickered up, so I'm thinking of keeping this one clean, the deco is too nice to risk ruining it with stickers. I might put the shoulder ones on just to cover those pins.

That is a lot of shipping cost.
Since I was late the choice was simple.
45 euro out of china with delayed shipping or 52 and have it the next day.
