Wow, Patrol Immediate Battle Mode is 47cm long! Okay, I'm impressed. For someone not familiar with Dia Battles, they're 18cm tall.
The upper and lower halves of the Convoy serve as vers-riser units as they both have the ability to take a vcore or vcore adapter. The lower body and upper body units also utilize the triverse body combination mushroom peg/port. There appears to be leg separation at the upper thighs but as we have seen with buffalo and diabattles, the leg designs hinder some compatibility.
well PO'd on AJ, may the Great Bezos grace me with a lower price upon release, many blessing upon the 'Holy Pee Bottle'.
So after seeing Battle Convoy and sleeping on it... it really just doesn't appeal to me. Not to rain on the parade since I admire this series a lot, but here are my issues: You're forced to buy the trailer / playset with the core figure Separate and combined alt modes are super janky IMO Not seeing any apparent transformation "magic trick" that other figures have (Dia Battles' and Big Powered's heads, Battle Buffalo's chest cockpits, etc) The arms are compatible with Battles+Buffalo, but there's no good reason why the legs aren't too Robot mode is overly "simple" looking (block-man arms, overly prominent tires, mainline TF-tier hip/thigh sculpting) Totally blocky, lacks any of the curvature / complex shaping of other Diaclone figures The cockpit / bullet core doesn't look like it fits in the chest, it leaves some ugly empty spaces Overall I'm reminded of the "Optimus Maximus" set from Transformers Prime, as well as the Hyper Rescue Drive Head series—neither of which makes me want to spend $300+. Just my opinion of course.
It doesn’t look like the convoy head is part of the bullet core, anyone agree? If I’m wrong, just wondering if there are alternate heads we haven’t seen yet
I hope this isn't more expensive that Big Powered, but I'm probably in for quite a surprise on the price tag. I love that this this appears to homage two different Diaclone toys. Battle Convoy, obviously, but the trailer looks like it's meant to be an update on the Cosmo Roller. I do wish they were being sold separately though. The trailer looks like it'll be a neat toy. The conning tower/cockpit for it looks like it has all sorts of options and gimmicks.
32k yen. It's up on Amazon Japan for preorder already. @l3x I don't agree, but, bonus like for Hyper Rescue just the same!
Somehow I am more attracted to the trailer than the robot/vehicle. If someone is buying it and want to sell the trailer + things that go with the trailer, let me know .
Well this was the release I was most excited for... and it looks like shit. I would have no idea it’s Convoy. It looks fat and dumpy. The design is half-assed and stupid. The Core chest is a big ugly hole. The modes look unremarkable and boring. Zero thought was put into this, how utterly disappointing. Especially after Gigantor. Wow. Crap. I am just astonished that this is Convoy. In shock somewhat.
