Well, for starters....

It could, but it is possible for some molds gate off the unwanted portion, or recycle and reuse the extra plastic.

 

Since I have the KO SG Botcon Optimus Prime and don't really need a SG Ratchet personally, I'll be passing on this set. But they did get me on all the other offerings, had alot of fun reading all the speculation over the weeks, reminded me of the annual Botcon reveals, but here you don't have to buy the whole set or travel which is awesome!

Here's my quick thoughts on all of the Transformers Tuesdays reveals

Hot House - 6/10 straight repaint, maybe coulda skipped, but got for G1 Micromaster represenation
Bug Bite - 7/10 wish it was Bumblebee mold but looks great otherwise, got to make a custom Brazilian White Cliffjumper since I have the Botcon Bugbite
G2 Megatron & Sandstorm - 10/10 love them, Earthrise Megatron looks good in G2 colors and Sandstorm brings an unreleased TF to life
Black Roritchi - 10/10 - must have, just hope Black Zarak will be coming too
Spinout & Cordon - 9/10 - always glad to get Diaclones and these two look good! Only docked a point because Cordon doesn't appear to have his original Japanese kanji on the doors and the hood emblem

 

Plus they’re all existing characters, instead of redecos for their own sake (like, say, most of the Walmart Netflix line). I’d be more annoyed if they weren’t.

 

That's the MP-10 redeco, it was also sold under the Generations line.

Still "meh" about Earthrise Ratchet, in any colors. But that SG Optimus looks might fine.

Also I guess this is why the Netflix Nemesis Prime is using the Siege mold and not the ER.

Now we just need a Nova Prime an we have a fully trinity of evil Primes aha.

 

Is it just me or does the first picture of SG Prime look like a shitty digibash?

 

Very excited for this. Granted, I would have preferred SG Ironhide or SG Optimus’s trailer instead of Ratchet, but the fact that we’re getting an SG pack at all makes me happy. The Selects Ratchet rumor that was floating around finally makes sense now.

 

OH DUH, my bad! It looks so similar to the Siege figure.

 

Well after some thinking I decided to go ahead and get the the damn set. Other that the kind'a sort'a SG Rodimus in PotP This is a piece of TF-dom that I would like to have.

 

ANNNND...SG pack pre-ordered.

Well the MP one comes with a trailer and the Earthrise one comes with Ratchet, that's the difference the between the two.

 

I expected something else though...maybe red was out because it looked too similar to Ironhide and maybe they're saving black for some Diaclone homage...I thought maybe light green ala his counterpart Decepticon surgeon Hook but maybe that is too similar to Bay movie Ratchet...

Purple ambulance then? maybe even blue ala Soundwave?

 

Official Shattered glass repaints.  What? Of transforming transformers too? And it\'s more than just prime this time? Shut up and take my money, this is the best selects yet.

G1 Primes I guess, at some point there's so many it’s easy to mix them up.

@Topic: I think this is a great reveal; I like Shattered Glass for the pure novelty of it all. I do hope we're getting repaints like this throughout Kingdom; it would be cool to see BW-characters repainted into obscure versions of themselves. Like the Universe Optimus Primal, Beast Machines T-Wrecks, BotCon Packrat or hell, maybe even an Arcee out of the organic Blackarachnia instead of the TM2 one.

Gotta say though, as much as I like purple Prime, I wish we could get a new Toxitron eventually. I like that color-scheme even more and he only got like, one BotCon-toy so far? It would be nice to get a Toxitron in the future, ideally with a trailer like the scrapped Universe-one.
