Need to justify reason for going Premium as well. DLX line is already worth its value for money.

 

1 joint vs 2 joints.
DLX only need to sacrifice some unnoticeable details to achieve much better articulation. Toyworld is not in the same league.
Maybe Threezero indeed thinks OP is already good enough, so they could limit the head turn to less than 45 degrees to justify Premium.

 

The neck articulation itself is fine on the dlx, it’s the sculpt that hinders it. You can get a full 360 out of the head, however at 45 the neck interferes with sculpt of the side of the head. You have to lift the head over the sculpt to get it to keep turning.
The knees being technically inaccurate is most likely a byproduct of also having to make them durable

 

If I read your post correctly, you want a figure to have the articulation of a CGI model.
Just be thankful that ThreeZero are releasing DLX line at an affordable price point.
Not happy can always sell off your DLX and get a Premium down the line.

 

Sadly they offer a similar design of the knee in the Premium. The Yolopark design is better, but not by a big margin. They're way too big for articulation anyway.
I said generally I like the DLX but obviously they could make the posing much easier, and won't add much cost.
For example, they could keep the 2 joints at the knee closer, and back side of thigh or calf movable to avoid interference. Flame toys sometimes do it this way. In my opinion, a knee bent 140 degrees naturally is better than a knee bent 180 degrees unnaturally.
Before releasing it, Threezero sent free samples to dozens of uploaders in Bilibili (Chinese version of youtube) and almost everyone was saying it's super articulated. But when I got mine and tried to pose it, I found it's not as good as they said. Its joints surely can bend a lot but sometimes without a naturally look and it's somehow exhausting to pose it carefully while taking photos. So I think it's necessary to point out these details for potential buyers.
The DLX is worth the money already, no doubt about it.

 

With all my respects, @catchup you're being too complicated and fussy with DLX Prime. It's just a display figure VERY accurate. What you mention aren't flaws, most of the best figures has double joints and I didn't see nobody complaining about it. If you don't like it, you're always free to sell it. As @PlasticResinHeroes said, you want a CGI model articulation, but this is not possible, mate.

 

Fall of Cybertron​

 

I noticed in some recent reviews (of the latest batch i assume) that the upper back has literally zero weathering compared to previous batches and that just makes it look very "plasticky" compared to the rest of the figure. It looks especially worse in contrast with the spine fully extended which is full of detail and weathering. I was thinking of picking him up just to display that feature next to the premium scale but this lazy work puts me off. Do you guys think Threezero will release another batch of this guy (hopefully without omitting such details)?

Pretty much every review on youtube from the past 2-3 months has the figure looking like the photo on the left (I filtered them by upload date). It's definitely not the lighting.

 

I have a last batch prime and the wash and weathering are all still present on it.
Something to remember with the earlier reviews on this figure are those are not working production figures, they are reviewer samples. If you revisit this thread and observe the first posts of actual production figures you’ll see that they all are less heavy handed with the black wash than those reviewer copies.

 

Are you 100% certain it's from their last batch? Where did you order from?
I'm aware about the difference between review samples and the actual production figures but in this case that black wash is definitely present in the first batch as well from what I have seen (maybe in the 2nd as well). I'm pretty sure the 3rd batch is the latest one.

 

I ordered the last batch, I will see soon or later if this is about of review samples or the final product.

 

I've owned DLX Optimus from the first batch and I've recently got the latest batch.
Re the weathering and paint they seem pretty much identical to me.
Similar issue was raised with DLX Bumblebee but having had first release and later release of DLX Bumblebee they both seemed identical.

 

Maybe just a non-common issue or review samples.

 

Did you order from an European dealer? Asking because I don't think the 3rd batch arrived to Europe yet. I asked a dealer from Germany and they told me their stock is from the 2nd batch.

The paint seems to be indeed more or less identical everywhere else except for the back area that I mentioned.
The case with DLX Bee was about a middle batch that seemed to be much less weathered and cleaner looking (all over the figure though) from what I remember.
