Prior to the last announcement I would have yes.
With the ultra Magnus and menasor announcement I now understand that these companies have other priorities that completing the cast.
It will either take a veeeeeeeerrrry long time or their battle will end ugly and damaged the market(a little competitionis healthy bilut now it is kind of ridiculous). It is verry strange that the company I am most excited about right now is MFT(I dont do legend plus and it used to be a KO company.)
We have an arcee,blitzwing, octane , tracks, hot rod, head masters, maybe sandstorm with mft.

With NA and mst we have another soundwave, 2 menasor 2 ultra magnus.....great....

 

I am indeed happy with Iron Sky and don't mind mixing him with my legends. I can also accept a bigger Blitzwing. The others tho I would mind the size disparity. MFT Tracks wouldn't work with my current collection

 

I 100% agree. I am also not a legend plus guy but accept certain bots in my display(sprinter, astrotrain,head masters). It is pire about the excitment of the announcment themselves that I like mft right now regardless of my intend to buy for my collection. I am also excited for everything IF has planned.

But I am getting kind of little bored by NA MFT annoucments at the moment which is a shame because my collecting goal is g1 legend

 

I currently have mainly iron factory, but want to mix it up. Which other companies can I consider? Are the legends + lot too tall? Is NA too small?

 

Iron Factory can be mixed with Magic Square. Their carbots are the same size

 

Correct, the way they are going about it now, is not good.
Not good for the market or the compagnies.
Since I started I noticed the flag MFT was getting but as a starting collector who did not wanted to spend tons of money and wanted a wide range of figures.
MFT was the way to go, between the KO's and their own designs they have that wider range.
Even if they have a different scale, it would be good for MST and NA to release different figures and not go head to head everytime.

 

The problem with MFT is the lack of characters, and also, they release tons of different figures. In terms of TF, they release the figures very slowly and they don't finish the "groups" of characters. The Ark Crew isn't finished, neither the New Generation. Years ago MFT released Kup and Springer with lots of issues and awful design, but there's no more legend figures of them.

Then the problems with the stock of Sludge (metal version)... or the fact that they release random characters at their own likes, like they aren't interested in release all the bots.

Lately I felt that I can't finish my Legend+ collection (still no Ratchet, Ironhide, Mirage, Sunstreaker, Wheeljack, etc), so I stopped buying them. NewAge and MST announced the whole crew of both factions, and they are releasing them as they "promised"... I'm not confortable with the prices, but I don't want more holes on my collection. Finally I jumped into NA and MST. But MFT Magnus is very good to keep him on my shelf.

That's right. They did a Huffer too once, didn't they? That's very strange how they didn't do a Pipes from that mold.

 

Lack of characters ?
They have more out there then any other company, now that you do not like them is another story.
With lack of certain figures that they have is just smart, HS and Jinbao have a Prime out, so they see no rush in that.
If you look back you can see that the HS line was first ment to be MFT releases, they have an Ironhide and Ratchet.
I can not call them slow, I scrolled back from when they started and people on this forum sharing pics, they released a lot more then others in the last 2 years.
For now you can also not complete your legends collection because most of those you want are not beeing made yet, even tough they teased with a line up.
I will just be buying figures I like when they come out from MFT or MST, NA is too small for me beside the minibots.I like the development of the Legends so far.
All 3 brands are stepping it up with designs and that is good, just this stupid head to head from NA and MST needs to stop.

 

I highly recommend MasterMade’s Titans. Granted, you have to be into Chibi or “Super Deformed” proportioned figures, much like Bandai’s SD Gundam line. It’s also worth noting that Trypticon is probably the least chibi/SD looking of the bunch, since they don’t have a humanoid figure seeing as their robot mode is a T. Rex.

Now, I adore MM’s Trypticon, Diabolus Rex, and it’s a centerpiece of my collection, along with Iron Factory’s Bruticus. And, MM’s Metroplex, Omega Supreme, Scorponok, and Fortress Maximus are pretty sweet, too.

However, MM’s God Ginrai, Overlord and forthcoming Devastator might not fit so well with your collection. And... you might want to wait for new versions of those figures since the Iron Factory figures are very long sold out and discontinued.

What I’d like is for Iron Factory to make a Tailgate to turn into Pipes and then finally add a Wipeout to go with their Runamuck and Runabout.

Or... just start with Wipeout and working their way from there.

Though... if they produced a Fulltilt and Brunt that either combine together or even use Wipeout as a base power master... I’d be thoroughly pleased.  

 

Don't misunderstood me, I really like MFT but not the Hot Soldiers line, in my opinion are too simple with many gaps or design flaws, but lots of people enjoy them without complains. I'm not in any hurry but I like to have the certain that they will make the most common characters. I have a mixed collection, with Jinbaos, MFTs, NAs and MSTs... but sometimes I can't mix them very well, that's why finally I stopped to collect MFT's. I really wish a MFT Bluestreak, Brawn, Bumblebee/Cliffjumper, Gears, Hauler (well, this one for having all the Ark crew), Huffer, Ironhide, Jazz!!, Mirage, Prowl (IronTrans done the job), Ratchet, Sideswipe 2.0, Sunstreaker, Trailbreaker, Wheeljack and maybe Windcharger. I really wanted all this characters for my Legend+ collection, but there's no news till the date, and both brands NA and MST are making a SUPERB figures lately.

 

For it's worth, they actually showed prototype image of sunstreaker and they did have release a gears with swerve as a 2 pack.

 

Sigh, Gears is one I particularly want. I've been tempted to just get the MFT one for now but I'm not sure it's worth it considering how out of scale it would probably be (with the figures I have). I've found precious few pictures of it with MST figures. May do it anyway because it's not looking good that anyone is tackling him again anytime soon.

 

What figures do jinbao make? I thought it was just the osko dx9 Dutch

Is hot soldiers the same as mft? Is iron Trans also mft?

 

IMO legends+ and MFT have my g1 collection equal to, if not more complete (ko'd or otherwise), than if I strictly went with either NA or MS (Hound, omega supreme, hot rodimus, dinobots, Astro, gears, swerve, pipes, headmasters, etc). Upcoming announced will patch in even more missing characters, at least 6, that the other 2 aren't touching yet. So with the 7 MS/NA mini bots and fillers that scale close like IF Jazz and Mirage I'd say (not better quality) but fuller cast/ ark bots are easier to accomplish in legends+.


I actually appreciate the random MFT releases as opposed to the recent piggy back game with the same characters at the same time.


As far as timing, MFT put out more figures the past years than both MS/NA. 2 year SW's, 3 year stunticons and on and on, so if you think MFT is a wait game…. With all the companies, any way you look at it you're gonna have holes in your collection but far easier to scale an MS into a + collection than vice versa..

Id go for him while you can, been harder to find and more expensive lately. Worse case I display him around bigger bots but alt truck mode works good too.

Jinbao recently released an osko of new age megatron as well. Don't think iron trans is mft but I do have the datsun bros and they scale perfect in a legends+ collection

 

Do NA & MS do reissues? Or is eBay the only option for sold out figures?
