I started with Quakewave; hated it. Picked up the Dibots and Insects because Takara was literally doing nothing but vehicles for the immediate future. Beast Wars was definitely a pleasant surprise on Takara's part, but it only solidified my previous assumptions -- they weren't in any rush to finish *any* part of their line-up. Years later, this idea still holds water. One Autobot car a year if we're lucky. 18 figures total (84-85) and they're still dragging it out.

Takara's not likely to get around to the rest of the 1984 minibots at this rate. 5 characters. At the rate they're going, '84 won't be done until I'M 84.

Fans Toys used to basically be "collection fillers" for my shelf. Now Takara's taken that role.

I don't like everything they produce, but there's both enough of it available now and on the way in the future that I can finally see a possible end to my TF collecting days.

 

@Kid Icarus I should just delete my post and replace it with your's because aside from not liking Quakewave that's exactly what I've been thinking.

 

Got around to picking up my first Fanstoys figure with Hunk and...are they always this hefty? Not that I'm complaining but damn there's a lot of weight for this little guy.

I want to get more of these figures in the future but I'll probably pick and choose for specific characters because they still have a high entry point. Hunk looks and feels great but I still feel I paid too much for it. I wanted to get Thomas but I missed out on that and for the most part I'm pretty satisfied with Chigurh, the Stunticons look cool but I don't care enough for them to pay the prices they usually go for and I could still get DX9 or XTB offerings, the Aerialbots fare a bit better, but I'm pretty satisfied with Zeta. The only character right now I'm really aching to get is Phoenix, which I'm still hoping for an eventual reissue, as he's still the only one without a good alternative like the others. Another is Blitzwing, I have DX9 Gewalt and I really like it, but I also like Blitzwing enough that I'm willing to get the FT version as well, same for the likes of Soundwave and Perceptor
