The ambulance/red cross water slides I got off etsy ended up being kinda crappy, so I went ahead with the included stickers... which honestly, are just fine. I used a little masking tape to help get the door decals as identically as possible aaaand painted the headmaster's arms/antennae metallic black.

The "calf" panels are a little fussy, just as everyone else has already said. They seem to hold in place until you touch her legs. Meh. Doesn't seem any worse than the GT Protectobots... just a little bit of a bump/notch inside there could have prevented it.

Got mine in the other day, and she's a lot of fun. Both of the door panels on mine are loose, but a small piece of a glue dot in each tab holds them in place well enough. Small Minerva was difficult to get out at first, but it gets easier every time I take her off. As for the partsforming, I'm fine with it, since she looks a lot better without the backpack. Aside from the door panels, the only gripe I can think of is that the transformation is kinda irritating, particularly the legs (maybe I'm just doing it wrong).

What kind/brand of paint did you use for the antennas? It doesn’t even look like paint.. I may do that when I get mine.

Had some extra Bot/Con badge labels from a previous purchase, so I added an Autobot logo to her robot mode.

I think I might wait for Night beat to be released and buy him first then I can see if they put stickers on him too or actually paint him. That will allow me to decide how i'd treat her - namely put the labels on her, leave her plain, wait for a better 3rd party (4th Party?) Option on stickers or just paint the crosses on her myself so it matches the painted stripes better.

She looks like something I would buy - she kinda reminds me of the Brainmasters a bit.

Occassional lurker, first time poster. I did a little customizing I thought I'd share. A few things I did include:

    1. Rear wheel discs: Painted and inserted a disc into the rear wheels and applied stickers. This mimics the look of the G1 better. Disc is removable.
    2. Grey torso elongated: I wanted to give the figure a more feminine pose (as in the rear sticking out). I think I saw this pose in Tomb Raider decades ago. To elongate, I cut open some heat shrink tubing and slapped it on. It now poses rear out without breaking the sculpt.
    3. Painted red robot parts: I wanted to paint the ball joint thighs red. I don't know how to replicate cheap plastic red with paint so I just painted all the other reds. It leaked into plastic seams of the forearm so I may have to paint the white parts later on. I've not touched the car body at all.
    4. Repainted lower torso: I wanted the ball joint there to also be red. Something went amiss so I sprayed the torso satin white first, then had to paint in the blue.
    5. Painted the ears a satin black.

    Thanks for looking!

    Hello,
Like what you did here, Looking for a clearer mid section pic so I could perhaps replicate your process. Thanks in advance.

Here you go. Sorry for the poor photo quality. It's just a phone camera and it's difficult to get in close without pulling off that ball joint again (I gouged the tubing putting it back in on my first attempt).

Front: This a little tricky since you have to make a template. Remove the grey plastic. Lay over with masking tape and put back on cylinder. Score the overlayed portions from the white plastic to create the template. Remove and cut template onto your material. Decide on how much extra height you want in the grey. I cut mine 17mm height. Glue on and put back then screw ball joint back on.

side note1: I also used some plasti-dip on the edge of grey plastic under the silver center part.
side note2: I first tried to just heat shrink tube the entire thing but since it gets really hard, there was no flexibility in the lower extra length section.

Back: Very easy. Score the grey part to get the point of overlap. Pull it out of the cylinder. Glue under the score marks and lay your material on. I gave mine 2mm extra height on the back. Slide it back on and cut the extra overlapping material. This should allow the grey part to go back flush with the white.

I don't think it's been done before, but can anyone try and see if the shoulder car bits can be rotated 180 so the wheels face the rear instead?

Negative. It's on a simple ball joint. Just do what I did and put a painted disk in the wheel and apply sticker then Autobot symbol.

edit: Actually, if you mean flipped upside down, then yes. It looks pretty ugly though.

In HK websites, they are able to transform Athena from car to robot without HAVING TO remove the roof. Has anyone tried it yet?

    impossible.
the roof does a 180° spin on a clipped piece, you'd have to replace the connection.

I really like this figure, though mostly for its potential. I put a dab of glue in the headmaster's hip (i know that's a common issue). But I really, really don't like the parts forming aspect. I have a few other figures from Fans Hobby and I KNOW they are better than this. I don't know if anybody has a homemade fix for the parts forming, but i'd pay for a piece from like shapeways etc. that connects that bit while still allowing for extension and rotation.

MP Masterforce Cybertrons collection is starting nicely. Not a huge fan of Sixknight, but he was still in my collection.

I don't see the cheapness argument, but it seems to pop up more when there is no diecast added to a figure. Plastic is solid, did shave the head tabs right away. The car and bot modes are nice, do wish that the rear window was on her shins, but that's the only gripe i have
