I know preorders go up the middle of this month, when they release in the United States, Don't know. But I know they were available for preorder in Canada from EB Games for a short period of time.
the 15th is when they said orders would be available... I'm assuming stock will be in stores by then too, which means I'm hunting Walgreens stores this week to see if they put out anything early... wouldn't hurt if they put out that unannounced supposed Walgreen Bluestreak exclusive too...
It was basically billed as the new Millennium Falcon. But its not quite as good as any of those toys. Its a beast of a vehicle. With two levels, a hidden mini vehicle escape pod, sound effects, play features and blast away battle damage activates by a laser firing droid ship. But its a little too under scaled. There's no real door for the boarding ramp. It basically goes to nowhere unless you pop open a play hatch and expose the guts. And the seams for those panels are no where near as well hidden as on the falcon. But its still an impressive piece.
My vintage buying spree continues. Saturday, got a Darth Vader's TIE in the box. Today, got a Speeder Bike and Taun Taun in the box. All of these are Kenner items from 1978-1983
yeah it was huge for its time and came with a ton of stuff like a vulture droid that could inflict damage on the ship (and they sold additional stuff that could be added on like another hyperdrive)... saw Luke/Yoda at Target for the first time...the day after I cancelled my bbts order and ordered it off of amazon...
The big downside of the royal ship was the landing gear couldn't retract into it. Once they were put on, they were not supposed to come off. So always down.
yeah, there were some design problems with it (plus the fact that figures like Ric Olie weren't even designed to sit down made its use as a playset somewhat dubious)... I did like the escape ship with the exclusive astromech though!
Alright, in a way I’m glad we haven’t gotten BS Asaji Ventress yet. Now that the new bodies are being used, a new figure of her with the new articulation mapping(like the new BS Cad Bane for example) would lend itself better to her design. Would also like BS figures using the new articulation for the following: Rebels Old Rex Dirge Rebels Darth Vader Clone Wars Anakin Clone Wars Obi Wan with clone helmet Ziro the Hutt Boba Fett(this needs to be done, the BS Boba Fett hasn’t aged well IMO) Pre Vizla Clone Wars season 2 Mandalorians Clone Wars Cyborg Darth Maul Rebels Obi Wan Starkiller Hero Dark Horse Darth Vader in white in that alternate continuity story where he turned good Pre-Cyborg Grievous(see the 2007 TAC figure) Mcquarrie concept Darth Vader Mcquarrie concept Stormtrooper Kylo Ren(definitely would benefit from butterfly hinges) Sandtrooper(the old one is hindered compared to the new Stormtrooper) Shock trooper Jedi Temple Knights KOTOR Mandalorians(the best) Bastila Shan Darth Malak
Any idea of when the next wave of Black series should drop? I ask because after the initial stock of wave 26 sold out, all targets near me did 1 restock and now its been like 2 weeks.
I've noticed that with ALOT of action figures in the past few decades. It seems super rare to find a figure that can get their legs 90 degrees from their bodies. Most get to about 80 degrees at most. This makes it impossible for them to sit down on things without leaning back. Everyone loves super articulation but nobody complains that they can't sit down. I have a bunch of the WWF folding chairs. I'd love to make an action figure AA meeting. But nope. If anything, they all have so sit on the edge of the chairs. Kenner figures might have not had knees or elbows, but almost all of them could at least sit down. If the figure has some sort of skirt or shirt hanging down, forget even getting 80 degrees. 45 degrees if lucky.
Start checking Walmart. They are starting to get in wave 26. I won’t expect wave 27 for a while. I will say around the holidays.
