    Eyy, page 400 y'all.
..So what? What's it matter where it is? Everyone basically says the same thing three times between the three dedicated threads.

You know this gotten to my head:

-Generations Selects Tred IS gonna happen. Plus bad-guy repaint of a heroic tank boi or they could do Treadshot too.

    Review thoughts, so far (IMO):
Cheetor - I don't mind the brighter yellow, but I wish they'd painted more spots on the lower legs and various other places. If the Netflix version includes those, then that's what I'll go for (and that's the only reason I would not get this figure immediately). Also, I'd probably use a silver paint marker to colour the 'blade' edges of his weapon. Design-wise, this is my favourite. It's just the lack of certain paint apps that count against it.

I hope 'Shadow Panther' involves some external remolding to make him an actual panther instead of a black cheetah.

Blackarachnia - Now there's a surprise. I wasn't really that interested in getting her compared to the others (there are certain aspects of her character design I don't really like (I did get Animated Blackarachnia, which I liked, and the Takara Legends retool, which I found disappointing), but she turned out more interesting than I expected. She looks close enough to her Beast Wars design, that I'm definitely going to keep an eye for to add to my BW collection.

I'm also interested in that alternative face-sculpt which I quite like. Is it part of a planned Selects figure that happened to be gang-molded with some of Blackarachnia's parts? I hope so.

Warpath - If I hadn't already had the previous Generations deluxe, I might have been over the moon for this (I mean, I can't wait for Huffer and Pipes to finally get decent updates). It's a nice figure, but I'm thinking that if Slammer turns out to be a straight repaint of this guy, I'll go for that instead (though I may get both if there are notable molding differences. (and to be honest, the Warpath I really want a toy of is the Animated version, and I seem to recall that guy being bigger)).

Going back to this Warpath, his headsculpt reminds of a ninja, so as others have also suggested elsewhere, I hope he gets repainted as Treds. Perhaps a Selects release (and you know, I may get Kingdom Warpath after all. Years back I read some novels by Eric Van Lustbader where the Black Ninjas were the bad guys, and the good guy was a Red Ninja. Hmm, I think I've got a few katanas around somewhere...)).

How do kids overbuy ? Theyre not exactly running up their credit cards or going to pawn shops. Thats the parents overspending.

On the youtube videos, youre partially right. The biggest toy reviewers are sponsored by online retailers that cater to adult collectors. They either get the toys free or get a discount on their purchases in exchange for giving that retailer a shout out and posting their website link with the video. But in your defense, there are a lot of young kids reviewing older toys because they want to have a channel and have fans. But these kids arent doing paid promotions. They are just doing it for fun. Then 2 years later they discover girls and the toys go in the garage in bins.

And although it's parents overspending, its the kids flashing the buy stuff button. My parents always tell me about how they bought like everything cause I flashed those eyes. Like 3 sets of those 10 pack minicons

That depends. As I said, I found some toys the day they premiered on the cartoon, others a few days after, others long after. There were also toys on the shelves before the cartoons aired. The TF cartoon debuted several months after the toys did. I know I had the '86 catalogue in hand before the movie was released, and kicked myself afterward for not realizing Hot Rod was Rodimus Prime (shhh!). I imagine this was a consequence of several factors:
    1) Where you lived when the toys hit the shelves in your area.
    2) Where the toys were in the production line. Hasbro advertised all the toys for the year in the catalogue, but they weren't all intended to drop at the same time. Think of poor Skids, who somehow dropped between the '84 and '85 line up (which is when I found him and bought him).
    3) Where the character debuted in the episodes. I have no idea how well coordinated the toy releases were with the episode airings, but I imagine it was possible a character debuted in an episode earlier than the toy was released, and vice versa.

Probably in different fandoms. I remember when Power Rangers and Pokemon came out, and kind of drew the line where I there was something nerdy I was too old to care about. I know my students care more about Harry Potter than Star Wars or Star Trek. It happens.

    If I am honest I don’t care :lol .

Also I believe the rumors are indicating Vector Prime.

    I was hearing Vector Prime.

IIRC the only reference to Vector Prime was to the Universe redeco of him, which IIRC was an homage to The Last Autobot, which is why it was referenced.

The thing worrying me is... these are all very small deluxes. And I’m assuming the fossilizer’s not going to have the mass of ER Hoist to counter-balance these small figures. Mmmmh.

Well, nothing is as small as Cliffjumper either.

The other weapon gimmick guys have been a consistent size, so it's pretty safe to say they'll be the same size as Cog or Ironworks

I would argue Blackarachnia looks very similar to Cliff mass-wise. Judging by her spider mode, at least. I'm not expecting the fossilizer to have much substance either, since he's supposedly going to be skeletal, and that doesn't seem to lead to much mass. I guess we'll see!

Well you "might've" noticed some of the Beast Wars figures don't have ports. Where as Warpath does since its with the lore of the show/toys.

You really can't judge mass(g) just by looking at something in the context of similarly sized action figures/toys.

For example, Allicon is far "smaller"(shorter being more accurate description) than Ironhide but their difference in mass(g) is only 4g.

These deluxe Kingdom figures are perhaps shorter than some G1 style figures of the same class but that is to be expected for MANY reasons. You can get more height out of a blocky, mechanical design than a more organic design. BW style characters become animals that often have slender limbs as compared to a car, they are often more complex than vehicles and may require a higher parts count or a slightly more involved transformation. Going from a machine to a different type of machine is far easier than going from an organic looking animal to a robot etc.

I would also wager that Deluxe Warpath while short, is probably just as massive(g) as your typical Deluxe. 20200906_000530.jpg 20200906_000440.jpg
Its also very possible that some BW style characters may be less massive(g) but more complex or perhaps have a higher parts count, it all evens out one way or another, a good example is the contrast between Allicon and Cliffjumper. 20200906_113641.jpg
Allicon is much bigger, taller and more massive(g) however, Cliffjumper is more complex, has more paint, likely more engineering, transformation is far more complex etc so it evens out nicely.

I think if we focus less on raw hight or how big they visually appear, we can see more, such as why are they that size or what makes up for it? Look at the complexity, paint, parts count etc of course its up to the individual if they care about those things or not, If someone only wants huge figures, they won't care about all that and that is perfectly fine, different strokes for different folks but for those that care, the data is there and there is a reason for everything.
