The “eh it can wait” mentality is what drives the prices up after it’s no longer being sold, because then you realize. No, it can’t wait, so people rush to get them for a good price fearing they’ve lost their chance, which ironically makes it harder to get one.

 

Sure does, see it with everything right after it sells out, even when they were sitting there for 3 months. With this set, I know damn well I don't need it (if it were the regular seeker mold, I would have it by now). Anything I pass that many times, I know I don't need, but.......

I still don't think I would grab it for over $50.

 

This is why I have a “See it=Buy it” mentality. Unless it’s wave 1, you may not actually see it again. I know I’ve only ever seen a lot of figures once, and these days pre-orders sell out in a few hours or so. Better to put an order in now to ensure I have one then chance aftermarket prices after it comes out. Makes things a little tighter, but saves me a lot of stress worrying if I might miss out on a release.



Also, Ironically I did find it on sale for $40 back in early January. Made for a nice birthday present.

 

I'm wondering with these rainmakers, skywarp, and red wing getting a second chance at other retail outlets if they weren't timed exclusives. Could bode well for the future if anyone misses exclusives in the first go around.

 

if you mean the rainmakers, then it’s a bit unreasonable to want them for less than $60. But if you mean the Skywarp pack, then you’re a bit more justified.

 

This is a bold statement. This set was and still is in no exaggeration impossible for anyone to get outside of the United States. No retailers had it for sale, no members or resellers had it for anything that wasn’t extreme (in the $200-300’s price range). They definitely weren’t just sitting there for anyone who isn’t a US fan, an extremely privileged group of the fandom who time and time again forget how good they have it compared to every other country, even their next door neighbour Canada.

This Takara release is a godsend for any international fans, and hopefully this follows through for the ridiculous amount of US-exclusives Hasbro has put out in the last year. It’s a dumb practice in the first place.

I was lucky to get this via RK. The Takara Tomy Mall release, for non JP residents, you'll be needing a proxy service to secure this. You need to factor in the services they offer(the proxy that is).

And yes, these"exclusivity/region lockouts" are really ridiculous though this might be the repercussions from the TRU demise.

So happy these are finally getting released in Japan. But I just paid more money than I should two weeks ago to get these for my kdis arghhhhhhh

Wish takara would let us know they are carrying certain things so I wouldnt have to import this stuff and then only find out they are brining it out !

 

Not really worth paying almost almost double prices for these 3 pack Siege Rainmaker trio, tbh. Glad that Japanese fans have the option now to snag these. 

 

Does anyone know the odds of other online retailers picking this up? The Tfw news articles seem pretty confident about it but I’m not sure. Still haven’t seen anything for Takara Skywarp.

 

About time.  I hope all the other exclusives come out in Japan, too.

 

Or I just really don’t want them. Which is why I passed on them for months at retail. Just not a set I needed at retail price, which has been the case more and more often the past few years.

 

Imma just say I haven't opened mine but seeing the pics really makes me happy. In general feels like the best time to be a seeker fan. I don't care how overdone they are it's just so nice to see them being done properly.
