I have Taobao all set up ready to go but I've never actually bought anything from there. That might be worth a try, actually (or it would be, except for the aforementioned issue).

Still crazy that we have 15% GST and you guys only pay 10%. Sometimes it's cheaper to import stuff from Australia (or, at least, no more expensive than buying locally).

Possibly. It was about a month ago. I doubt I'll bother for $16 though. It's annoying, but dealing with eBay's completely moronic customer service (on par with Amazon's, at least for international customers) is a lot more annoying and doesn't seem worth $16. I could just work another hour and get paid more than that (well, probably less after tax, but you get the idea).

EDIT: ShowZ has answered my prayers! Yay. [Pre-Order] DX9 D12 Gabriel

    That's a much better price. Pre-ordered already!

Pffft those are rookie numbers :p . In the UK we pay 20% plus an additional admin fee (I think around 2.5%)

Glad ShowZ have come through with an option for you, they won't even ship Gabriel to the UK. TFS-Express (UK or China option) and BBTS all work out between £250-270 :(

Whilst I'm thinking about it. I'm sure this reissue was originally listed as coming out in July but here we are in September and TFS-Express haven't got their stock yet.

My eBay purchase from one*day_bid back in March for Dx9 for £199.50 for the first time ever got caught by UK customs. Previous purchases from that seller had avoided ransom payments. I had the £8 flat rate admin fee to pay and an additional £12 import charge. So overall 10% on top of the original purchase price (£220 all in). Vital that the sellers put down gift and low price below £39 and if not willing to disclose that on customs paperwork put non-gift but less than £15. Lmao. Not that customs would believe the 7 kg Gabe boxed up is less than £15 for contents and shipping. Anything from BBTS if more than £15 is going to get hit for the £8 admin fee and import charge (2.5-5%) on the combined product and shipping values.

We used to have to pay a lot more for orders over NZ$400, but still, I feel you. I drop-shipped something to a friend in the UK recently and it got hit by tax. Thankfully it didn't cost too much more, but it's all pretty silly, really.

Don’t forget to order the Autobot emblem from Jream. Shoot him a pm in here. Will cost you circa £11:

Plus you will need x2 CR1220 batteries. They drain quick if you leave them in. I keep them out. Be careful when installing new ones. The wires do not have much slack:

Cheers for all that! I'd seen the emblem thing before but thought it was for the FT one only. Didn't realise there's a dx9 one!

I've got a few batteries in a drawer, but I confess to not bothering much with LEDs and such.

    Off to PM Jream!

I'll pm jream as soon as I have my Gabriel in hand. I always worry something bad will happen and I end up with only the lil autobot symbol

Was tempted to get this guy and the best price I saw was showzstore but they aren't doing shipping to UK for it as it's too large, yet can still ship to USA?

Yes there is a specific emblem for the FT figure and one for Dx9 Gabe.

You can use glue or blue tack to hold the emblem in place. I used blue tack. It hasn’t moved at all since I put it in place since the beginning of June. Firmly in place. The emblem is good quality which the figure deserves.

I got the batteries and tested the connections. Then removed the batteries. Definitely not want any corrosion or leakage to affect my figures.

Judging by the postage price from China at TFS-Express, it comes out about 30 quid cheaper than the UK site. Then you have to consider whether you get stung by customs or not. It's $125 for Gabriel but more than 150% again for postage. Apparently the box is freaking huge and it's the dimension weight that ups the postage cost. I think the dimensions mean it's classed as like 15kg or something...
You'll pay £240 ish from China plus any customs, or £270 from the UK, with TFS-Express.

Obviously you can wait for showz, but while knows when he can ship something that large to these shores? Your choice obviously, but I suspect that it's gonna be a while and/or overly costly.

The box is huge. I cannot recall the dimensions and I don’t fancy going up in the loft to retrieve the box and what dimensions/weight are on it. Actually this link gives the dimensions and weight:

Transformers DX9 Gabriel (MP Omega Supreme)

Below are some photos I took when I received it. The box dwarfs Siege OSupreme box:

All my TFs are in my office in Detolfs and on shelving. Actually got Siege OS and ER Scorponok on the top of Detolfs. I need more Detolfs and will need to re-jig the layout/displays at some point.

Dx9 Gabe is in a different league to Siege OS. I won’t put Gabe on top of a Detolf.

I don’t have much of a MP collection. I have a 7 year old son and would rather he doesn’t ‘play’ with the MP/3P figures I do have. The bulk of the collection I have is Siege/ER which got me back into collecting as rekindled feelings that I had as a kid for G1s in the early- mid 80s. I’m happier for my son to be able to attempt to transform Siege/ER figures.

I'm currently stuck in the living room. As soon as my eldest stepdaughter moves out, the younger one will have her room and the box room becomes my office and TF display area. Really need her to get a wriggle on because HasLab Unicron is not that far away!
