while I agree he doesnt seem as solid as the two previously mentioned, I feel like comparing him to CW UM is going too far. His plastic doesnt feel nearly that brittle.

Really? It actually does to me. In fact one of the things I noticed when I first opened it was that it smells remarkably similar to combiner Wars Ultra Magnus. I know that sounds weird but between that and the overall feel, I feel fairly certain it's using the same compound.

Hmmm. I just compared my DD with my CW UM. I understand where you are coming from a bit, but the plastic doesnt feel the same, still. I guess we can chalk this one 9nto the "your mileage may vary" category

I agree, my Doubledealer doesn’t feel the same as my LG Magnus. The plastic flexing around pressure points on the legs of LG Magnus doesn’t happen with Doubledealer. Doubledealer doesn’t feel fragile to me.

Aligning the knees for vulture mode is the only tricky aspect of transformation IMO.

I wish this had stronger foot joints for vulture mode. Somehow mine is standing but those feet should’ve locked in at a detent for more stability.

I'm working my way through the whole thread, but hopefully someone can answer - Does anyone else's hip joints seem just slightly off?
As if there's no 'straight' position, it's either leaning slightly back or slightly forward.
I'm just wondering if it's worth cracking it open to see what's up, or grabbing another copy and returning this one and hoping I just got a dud.

Question: has anyone done an upgrade kit for Doubledealer? Specifically, I'm hoping a headmaster conversion kit has been designed to use the Japanese release of the Clouder figure (that came with Kickback).

I finally got my tapes from BBTS. Then Pulse puts out more orders to get them but Ok now i would have loved that to begin with. Now that i have them my Double Dealer is finally complete but the problem is there's just no where else to store both tapes just 1 in his front holder. Anyone have ideas where you can store the other tape?

Well, in the original North American fiction, Doubledealer would only work with one of his partners at a time, and kept them apart so they wouldn't find out about his duplicitous nature.

My suggestion is, if you've got him in Autobot robot mode, you stage Skar with a Decepticon display on his own, and likewise if he's in Decepticon bird mode, you display Knok with the Autobots.

Otherwise, you can always use the "shield mode", and peg them on an arm port.

I think it depends on where you plug what on your figure in each mode. For example, when I have DD in his robot mode, with his Autobot tape in the chest cavity, I plug scar on to the back, if for nothing else than storage. If he is in bird mode, then while skar is in the chest cavity that also happens to be a stomach cavity, then I usually plug knok onto his back, since I have the gun and radar dish add on plugged on to the rocket part that his tail feathers attach to

Walmart just extended my preorder wait thru 9/30. Are you kidding me? Still the cheapest around or I’d cancel.

I would love Doubledealer to be remolded into Machine Wars Soundwave. Especially since he is compatible with Soundwave's cassettes, allowing for Soundwave to retain that function.

Here's a fairly elegant solution I came up with for storing both Power Masters in his truck mode. Since it's the neutral mode, I discovered that you can peg two tape guys into one another, and they stay together pretty securely. Then just plunk the pair into the Power Master slot. You can see how they store in truck mode, and here's a picture of two other tapes with their pegs out. Each peg fits into the space where the peg would fold into on the other tape. Skar fits fairly firmly pegged into Knok in this configuration.

Also it's fun to imagine Skar kicking his tiny bat legs against the bottom of the rocket.

Just out of curiousity, how sturdy is the missile launcher for everyone else? Like it's of course fine in a resting position and it can go to like the 90 degrees upwards without a problem but like anything like 60 degrees and under just makes the missile drop instantly. Is it just me having the issue or is it more widespread?

Incredible figure. So many features and options, with incredible resemblance and callbacks to the original G1 figure. The overall look (and headsculpt), in these wonderful late 80s colors, is just a real treat. Some joints could be tighter, and the knee configuration for transforming into bird mode can be a pain, but those are my only quibbles. Very highly recommended. Some pictures:

With Knok and Skar. I really love that they give you the option to make them look like powermasters.
