I don't really care about the missing gun. This isn't trying to be 100% accurate to the show so the fact it has the Transmetal 2 whip is fine by me.

Not expecting them to do all of what the MP does at the Deluxe scale but not trying to implement any of it in any way is a big misstep.

Same here, I have and love PotP Optimal Optimus, and also love the Generations Rhinox, but these aren’t doing anything for me.

Well, what would they implement? The torso on the MP is pretty nuts, probably wouldn't work for a deluxe. Maybe the legs but even then, the legs aren't super bad looking to me. Maybe a bit kibbly but not terrible.

I\'m getting curious as to how the fossilizers will attach.
There doesn\'t seem to be a standard peg or slot system.

I'm thinking of a Fossilizer named "Catgut" as appropriate for Cheetor's gun.

The intestine gun is Cheetor's signature weapon though, and both it and his tail gun, though partsforming, are pre-established in his original toy. Totally different from making Ironhide's roof partsform into a shield the character has never used, making Cliffjumper's rear end partsform and calling it a "shield" he has never used, or strongly encouraging (albeit not forcing) you to partsform Arcee's rear end and call it a "hoverboard" she has never used. This is more like omitting Vector Prime's Rhisling sword. Of course people want it, it's the goddamn intestine gun.

That's the problem. Almost all the G1 stuff has been, to excruciating detail, show accurate. From the Alt. Mode, to the Robot Mode, to the Weapon, to how the figure scales with the others in the line. Everything was meticulously crafted as an earnest love letter to that character and the fans. Whereas the BW stuff has been just a a checklist consisting of "Animal Mode, ✓. Robot Mode, ✓. A Weapon, ✓."

There's just no passion to the WFC BW figures like there is with the WFC G1 figures.

    Damn that looks nice.

I confess to being quite surprised by how much people on this forum are turning against these BW figs. Put me firmly in the camp of loving them so far.

But I'm also firmly in the camp of owning all the BW MP's, and loving them all. I have the MP's for show accuracy. These are to be fiddled with, transformed incessantly, and pitted against my CHUG Autobots and Decepticons. And on that score they are golden. They aren't perfect, but few of my favorite main line figures ever are.

I feel like the problem for a lot of people is comparing them to the MP's instead of the classic Kenner figures, which is a much more fair comparison, to my mind. The other thing to keep in mind is that Hasbro has had how many redesigns of G1 characters to play with engineering ideas, while this is only the 3rd real try for both Rattrap and Cheetor. And for Rattrap, being limited by the size they chose as well.

But, to each their own. If people really don't like these, they won't buy them. I will. I'm absolutely thirsty for more BW in my displays, and I absolutely love both figures we've got looks at so far. Can't wait to see more. I'd much rather have these releases than even more G1 rehashes.

"BIG COMPROMISES WITH LITTLE BENEFIT" when this Cheetor looks objectively better in every way compared to his past figures? Is this some kind of meme? Are you people pretending to be upset? I'm genuinely baffled to read reactions like this.

Is that really fair to compare him to MP Cheetor?   :D

Well, these characters from Earthrise and so on all have had multiple figures before. Done in the CHUG style and in the "Literally just G1 but again" style. Beast Wars figs mostly can't say the same.

Yeah, it’s a bit how I feel about the Tetra Jets. And really all the Cybertron Ian vehicles. They didn’t turn out that great compared to the earth modes because this is something new for them, not a refining of something they’ve been doing for years.
Personally, as a non Beast Wars fan, I think Cheetor looks great.

Just as amazing I expected him to be from the first leaked pics. BW fans might bemoan that he looks/transforms differently, but I for one prefer the more zoologically accurate cheetah mode (btw, someone tell TonTon the animal is NOT a cheetor, but a cheetah, he seems to think that's the creature's name :D ). The eyes too are better in amber, like a real cheetah's, not green. Great that they made the underbelly beige as well. The molded fur looks amazing, and the spots and tail rings are both super accurate! (Fun fact, each cheetah has different tail ring markings, it is one of the best ways to tell individuals apart)
The animal mode is super poseable with ball jointed paws and multiple articulation in both legs. I applaud them for actually not making the front paws into robot arms, and yet still giving them articulation unlike the original toy. The only issue with the robot mode is the torso and shoulders, with the blue shoulders being far too back from the cheetah head. I wonder if they couldn't be slid forward, and the reviewer just missed them?
I do wish he used some other toy to show scale, as I never seen MP Cheetor to know how tall he is in robot mode. Still next to Mirage in cheetah mode he looks regular Deluxe sized. Given that the legs extend for the transformation, I assume he would be around as tall as him too. That just makes me even more sure to skip the new Rattrap and stick with the Generations one.
And yeah, I agree with TonTon, this blows the fake-chest MP toy out of the water, the torso, the paws, especially the rear legs are so much better than than that haphazard collection of panels.

I too think so, but who is Cybertron Ian? If you see him, tell him he has the best name ever! :p

Cliffjumper could come with that bazooka because otherwise he was very small for a Deluxe. Cheetor looks much larger, and so has less room in parts/mass budget for such large guns. Think of how Wheeljack only came with the one little gun/rocket launcher, or how Hoist only had his little handblaster thingy. Plus, even if the gut gun could be fit in in terms of mass, it would've given the cheetah mode a massive potbelly, when clearly they're trying to make it a more realistically-proportioned cheetah than in the original toy.

I think we could get the Gut Gun through another accessories pack like Earthrise's Centurion Drone pack, or maybe as part of a Fossilizer as it sounds like Primal's mace does with Ractonite going by what Phamduc's said.

It isn't as bad as people say but man, that baby blue is atrociously washed out. Shit, the yellow is too. I think he would look a lot better if the colors didn't look so badly desaturated, these are very inaccurate to the show model or the old toy.

That comparison is the extreme opposite of comparing it to the MP. Yes the 2020 Cheetor looks better than the previous 1996 Cheetor & 2008 Cheetor, that's not exactly a difficult hurdle.

In comparison to the standard that an average WFC Trilogy figure has set, it's very lacking.

Not bad, but it\'s disappointing that they couldn\'t include the original gun(s).  It looks like they could have done so, by having at least one of them pegging into the back, where the trail-whip now goes?
