I gotta say, I like it that Cheetor has a melee weapon only. For me it adds to the "prehistoric" feel Beast Wars can have. Plus I always liked that the show treated Energon as this super radioactive, combustive substance, so the idea that Cheetor is using a non ranged weapon to avoid blowing everything up works for me.

 

Alright, all you needa do now is watch the show 5 times minimum  

 

Yeah, I'm still impressed at how fluid the motions of each character are, and in particular how much emotion they could get out of everyone, including characters with completely inhuman faces like Tarantulas, Quickstrike, Rampage or Depth Charge.

 

You know what would make the Kingdom line amazing? If the majority of characters lacked any actual guns, and in the Kingdom series they just made up random weapons from their bodies.

It would be a great reference to transmetals.

 

I mean how blurry his textures are and how his neck doesn't blend into his body naturally. At least going by this image.

Anyway, shouldn't Cheetor be orange like in the show and not yellow?

 

Yknow, I never though of cheetor as Egyptian but thanks to Tinton I see it and I kimd of appreciate it. Except for that whip part. If thats the case, I would say he's never seen that Egyptians are more famous for flails and crooks, and scimitar. And I think that's how ill treat the weapon

 

Any one else ever thought how cool it would be to see Cheetor bite someone's arm off with his robot mode chest?

 

Wow this is really rough looking, I'm just gonna make a list.

- the whole torso looks way too narrow and those broad shoulders do not help at all. Having the cheetah head split apart or the waist pieces splay would have really helped make it look closer to the "V" shape of his torso from the show.

- His feet are also minuscule in comparison to the robot mode they're meant to support. Having the back half of the foot fold up into the front half could have allowed a better looking foot.

- The lack of any gold or periwinkle/lavender metallic paint is also sorely missed. Even just a deeper shade of the purplish blue they chose would have looked better.

- The cheetah pieces on the arms look really bad and limit arm movement. Putting a swivel on the back piece so the could swing up and out of the way to allow for better articulation in the arms and a more show accurate figure.

The cheetah mode really seems to have been the focus of the design team and the bot mode suffers a lot because of it.

I wasn't expecting a 1-1 figure like the Masterpiece but I was expecting a figure on par with the other WFC releases in terms of quality and attention to detail. It really feels like these BW figures were a obligation due to it's 25th anniversary next year rather than something the Transformers Design Team wanted to put effort into.

 

Jeeze man... I think I'm getting close to double digits in my rewatches...

Yeah. It must be pure nostalgia blindness cause I think the charater models really aged well. I hear so many people say otherwise though.

 

BW didn't age that terribly. Them and shows like the Reboot didn't aim for the photorealistic, so they're still watchable. The environments are very spartan, though.

 

Cheetor looks much better in hand. He's still not got the greatest proportions, but it's far less egregious than I first thought. In anything other than a head-on view he looks fine, and most of the proportional issues vanish in any sort of action pose.

That's kind of a complicated justification for why a character known for exclusively using a firearm in that form no longer has one. Having a tail whip isn't the worst thing, but I wish he had some kind of gun.

That yellow is terrible! It hurts my eyes just looking at it. Also im having a PotP flashbacks, this looks cheap, unlike Siege and most of earthrise, and the proportions in bot mode look just straight up bad. What is it with hasbro and making the shoulders far out from the torso?

 

Not as bad as I thought it might look, I'm really liking this guy, cant wait to see him on store shelves, wish he came with a gun tho

 

If this were the case we'd have gotten a Titan Class Astrotrain.
