Given MP-10B was around $150 back in the day, I felt getting this one for 180 shipped less than 5 days from Japan is definitely worth it. I had at least twice of enjoyment with this mold.

Seems like this thread is pretty dead but I just got this guy from a 3rd party seller that’s fulfilled by AJ (So it ships to North America). It was only ¥15 237 which seemed like a pretty good price. There’s only 2 left, mine shipped out today, if anyone’s looking for one.

Between $180 and $200. Not really much of a savings... wait... I think it retails at $250. Then it's not a bad deal after all.

I think the retail $260 everywhere I've seen, I think I paid $183 US, but that includes some import fees that I don't think US customers get charged. It got here yesterday, super fast but the box was a bit beat up and just packed in a plastic bag. Figure is all good though

 

If this ever hits $130 I'll get it. Wishful thinking, I know. I just can not believe it is not painted.

 

This is my first experience with the mould, I just got this and 44 and wanted to practice on the paintless one first, but I really like it!

I wish it was painted, it definitely shows more in the truck mode, robot still looks good and the poseability is awesome. I even like the transformation, it’s not hard, there’s just a bunch of steps and they all make sense.

 

What a disappointment. People paying over $250 and it has all those issues. For that amount, it should have been perfect and the a durable shiny coat of paint. Ridiculous about the knees.

 

Yeah, that is unfortunate. I'm quite happy I went with TE-01B instead. Much lower in price and no issues whatsoever.

 

Is that one painted? Did Magic Square make a black Convoy? I really hope MP-49 is not a precursor for MP Starscream and Thundercracker. If Takara continues with high priced MP and lower quality then this line might be done.

 

Wouldn't using colored plastics instead of paint be seen as more economical? MP-44 notoriously had issues with paint chipping, especially in the grey abdomen areas, as pointed out by Jobby's review. (500 bucks...)

I don't know. Part of me is still suspecting that we might get a reissue of MP-44, but with all the tweaks that MP-49 provided, such as the lack of a voice box, the reworked knee joints, and the properly pointed antennas. (Wishful thinking, but what can you do?)
