I don't know if Diaclone Black Ironhide - whom Riddick is based on has an official Transformers name yet (like Lift Ticket, Cordon, Loudpedal etc..) Hopefully one day he will. Speaking of Rihio and Parts swapping though - did anyone decided to mix and match their kits to make them 3 colours instead of 2 ?
Finally decided to stop lurking and made an account. There's one eBay auction that shows what looks like packaged samples of yellow, blue and red pilots (denoted by a colored sticker in the circle on the left side) and it looks you get 3 different colors per box - I'm assuming - of each style (5 styles from the promo pics) and not 15 pilots in one color. The "yellow" box has pearl white, light silver and maroon if my monitor color is accurate. [edit] Forgot to mention that I should have my Show.Z order soon.
Welcome ! What pushed you past the tipping point (Rihio or MFT)? Have you already purchased RiHio mech suits ? My package is on the way as well. If not for that i might have bitten on the Ebay listing. It's more expensive per box but if one only wants a small crew it's not a horrible price.... The Yellow box looked like it had yellow , black and pearl parts to me. The Maroon set had gun metal grey and silver parts. At least it looks that way on my monitor. I'll be happy with whatever.
RIHIO has a history of staggering their releases, so the green and sand figures should come eventually. ~~~~~ Sina Visitor System Sina Visitor System
*raising hand* My plan for each body is to mix mainly two colors for body parts and use a third color to add/highlight a detail. For example, one color for torso, other color for limbs, and third color only for the head. Other example, one color for "pants", other color for upper body and head (so diaclone style), and third color only for one arm (like a bionic arm).
Thanks for the welcome! In my time lurking; I have to say these are the most pleasant boards I've ever read. I have MFT's Samurai Spring and I'd been debating Rihio with the Vermin Slasher release and the new pilots pushed me right over the edge - I'm a sucker for small scale figures since finding Diaclone at a KayBee back in the 80s. So I missed the black, grey and yellow (?) Vermin Slasher but I have the blue on the way with the pilots (hopefully with the improved parts). Really looking forward to these. Also curious to see how the pilots look with the X2 Toys Infinite Soldiers. If Show.Z's estimate is accurate; I should have a package next week.
Thanks for the pics! So do all sets include pearl/silver and gun metal? I'm a little surprised that the heads aren't on a ball-joint but they should be easier to assemble without it. Are those Stellar Knights in the last pic and if they are; how are they?
They have different shades of silver and grey/black in each set, there's a chart in one of the promo pics here
My pilots are sitting in a Pitney Bowes a state away: so close... @MEEEGGGAAATTTRRROOONNN Diggin' the size of the monsters and I want that drop-ship!
I must say, when taking into account cost, playability and customization potential, Rihio is on the way of becoming my favorite line of piloted mechs, surpassing the awesome but overly expensive diaclone line... Rihio, if you are listening, also make a modular playset base with control desks and chairs!
^ assuming the plastic quality and QC is as expected..... THIS. Adding a gigantic poseable insect creature to the line was such a good decision. It's an absolute purchase for me and would have been a likely purchase even if I weren't into the Rihio line. Gigantic creatures are universal additions to any toy line.
Sorry for the basic all one color build, definitely better quality than MFT pilots. If you have bigger hands prepare yourself for hand cramps Obligatory figure scale photos
I was jealous with your first pic and that's intensified now How's the movement - especially outward at the shoulder and hip?
The legs joints are tight, not in a break off easily way but getting it on the diaclone motorcycle was tough (for me at least). MFT/ Diaclone offer more van damme-ish movement albeit they’re still restricted. Arm movement is nice. I even cut the forearm circular insert too close (on the figure pictured) and it hasn’t broke yet while still allowing movement. Not even considering the cost point, these are dope. Contrast that with the cost of reboot and even the later MFT releases and this is an easy add. *I’ve only pieced together three dudes so far If its any consolation the hand cramps are this gen x’er
Excellent ! Thank you for the comparison images J Fizzle is the upper torso not completely seated on the lower torso (i.e. is the mid torso swivel post not pushed all of the way into the upper torso)? The images of pilots released thus far don't show the gap i'm seeing in your pics.
