I was going to jump in on the MOTU Origins line but I think I'm going to wait for Masterverse now, so this TC line will fill that void. These are checking that 80's nostalgia box for me for sure, I was never really into the toon or the toys as a kid but it will be cool to have a main-cast representation of this franchise on a shelf.

Ordered a set today. All the negative comments in the world won’t change the fact that these figures are going to skyrocket in price once they sell out. I missed out on liono when I waited too long on the initial Mattel release. No way am I making that mistake again.

You’re absolutely right. Im not convinced that there will be better classic Thundercats figures any time soon.

by the way what how does everyone here feel about these releases based on the reviews from Toybro and Pixel Dan? I was surprised how negative the majority of the comments sections are for both.

ToyBro and Pixel Dan seemed to have mostly good things to say about them, although they voiced a few issues. Personally, I thought ToyBro’s review for Lion-O might have been a little more objective, although I like both reviewers.

Overall, neither review had anything negative enough to make me not want to get the figures.

Got my shipping notice, this morning, from BBTS for the three Thundercats figures from wave 1 that I ordered. Pretty excited to finally be adding them to the collection soon!

Super 7 said they are going to start shipping Sep 1st if you ordered from them. Has anyone actually gotten a shipping notification?

There’s a fairly new Super7 video where Brian says that they’re going to ship out replacement guns for Jackalman (because I guess they were supposed to be purple and not gray), as well as replacement armor for Jackalman because the fur on the armor was supposed to have a light color patch on the fur. They’re also sending out replacement shorts for Panthro and a bonus Panthro head with light up eyes. He said we’d probably get all of those replacement parts in November.

He really didn’t address the backwards shins on Jackalman, but it was nice to see him address some of the issues that people in the reviews had brought up about the figures. Seems like they’re at least making an effort to address people’s complaints.

I appreciate that Flynn ran replacements parts. The problem is how difficult it'll be to actually install them. You ever pull the legs off (at the hips) on an MOTUC buck? I haven't, and I don't really want to try. It was difficult enough to do the lower-leg swap on the Matty Jackalman I have. I probably won't use the replacement parts at all if they involve stressing the figure in any major way. I'll just have a "toy colors" Jackalman, I guess.

You're right in that Flynn didn't address the Jackalman leg error at all, and in fact, that video, unlike his other ones, is actually not searchable on YouTube (I was linked directly to it from a Thundercats forum). I get it...he's trying to sell these figures and he doesn't want to broadcast the issues to everyone.

The Panthro shorts situation and even the Jackalman collar problem I can live with (especially since my Matty Jackalman has the correct neck paint). I was really hoping they'd at least get the legs right.

Against my better judgement, I've actually got the entire first wave en route from BBTS. Based on Pixel Dan's review, I'm already expecting the Lion-O ab joint to be loosey-goosey. Looks like I'll be getting my money's worth from my bottle of Kiki.

I was thinking that, even as I was watching the video. I know he said it would come with instructions on how to do it, but yeah, it seems like it would be a little involved. Probably more so than what a lot of people would want to invest in switching them. Personally, while I do think they should have gotten the colors correct to begin with, I’m not bothered by the color difference of Panthro’s shorts. I’m not going to switch anything out on mine.

The shins on Jackalman to me are the most egregious error. It’s unbelievable they repeated the same mistake that Matty made when they had that much time to fix it. I didn’t buy Jackalman, so again, it doesn’t affect me personally, but I’m sorry that the people who did are ending up with that issue on their figure.

I'm right with you on this. The paint issues I can live with, and having a "toy colors" Jackalman probably isn't the worst thing in the world, even if it's not ideal.

But the lower legs issue is pretty bad once you notice it, the way they curve slightly outward instead of inward, and how the musculature that should be inside is on the outside. I know a lot of people say they're cool with it, but to me, it's a pretty freaking bad mistake and kind of ruins the figure unless it's fixed. Thankfully, the leg swap isn't as hard as what the other fixes will likely be, despite still being a major pain in the ass.

I was finally going to get around to opening my set of Mattel figures, but after seeing the price on Lion-o, I think maybe I've leave the Mattel ones boxed and pick up the Super 7 to open.

They also botched the beige paint on JM's torso. I'm confident I can swap the shins, but I can't fix paint errors. I'll just have to try not to look at it closely.

Rewatching the series on Hulu has been awesome. I forgot how much i absolutely loved this show as a kid. It holds up so much better than he-man or gi joe.

so many awesome characters to make figures of. I hope we see Lunataks if we get a wave four.

Wasn’t paying close attention to the mail, today. Didn’t realize these arrived until just a few minutes ago!

I ended up buying the Super 7 Lion-o, Panthro, and Mumm-ra. I'll Leave the Mattel versions of those in the box and open the rest. Now I'm thinking about those Iron Studios statues, but they are hella expensive.
