I tried. Doesn't work. The top of Optimus' hand is flush with his arm, which means a gun can't have any areas behind the grip lower than the grip which this gun does. Kinda seems like it was designed without taking the figure's design into account.

It took 4-5 tries and to tell you the truth, I'm not sure HOW it locked up in there. The matrix chamber on mine twists almost 20 degrees. Last try it suddenly locked in place.

I know 3A's version is the accurate version, I love it. But there is something about this barrel chested, super hero pose transforming toy that makes him seem more Prime to me.

Nope I don't want to go thru the irritating process all over again.

They'll release two versions, one standard and other one Deluxe. Both will be filled to the brim with pointless accessories.

Also for those who gets the first batch of Standard will be treated to a beta version of it (sort of). With heads plopping off, pins dropping out and parts not secured or properly glued into place.

One was already teased and had a 3D render and printed ravage shown. No accessories seen.

So, wait, does that mean they did improve as the runs went on, or that the deluxe has better QC? Or just that you didn't get a good one in the first batch?

Also a few others on TFW as well.

I mean, yeah. I'm just wondering what exactly you mean by being a "beta version" for the early adopters - does that mean the newer ones are better, or that they were simply seeing how much crap people were willing to put up with?

The first batch of Standard Editions seemed to have many issues. Quite a few people who got the first release had issues, myself included. Later releases did seem to fix some of those issues. So it felt the initial release was a beta run to see what problems needed to be addressed.

That's not how these things work. To actually change something in a mold like this you need months of lead time. More likely is the first batches were the first production run that was made in order to hit their ship date, with several known issues, and the second runs were the ones that got out after they made comments on the initial production samples. Since there was a little more time they probably had time to fix some of the issues before production. That's how it works with most products, although a good company would take the time to fix everything or not be too overly ambitious with their product in the first place so that there was time to make sure everything they DID attempt worked out well. What we got was the "good enough" version of this figure, which was made in order to hit whatever ship date they had promised to retailers.

@Shmoptimus Prime I'm not saying that's how it works. I'm saying that's how it felt.

Opened this morning. From what I can tell so far, mine doesn't seem to have any of the issues reported. Tight joints, but not too tight, pins all good, chest locks in when adjusting the internals a bit and wrists are good. Nothing floppy.
I'm glad I had such low expectations, because this thing blew me away! It's truly a work of art. Also, looks really good with 3a BB.

As far as I can tell? I can pick him up by his head, if that's what you're wondering.

Dammit..so it's confirmed then, those who got the very earliest batch of TW Prime got screwed.
