I have always wanted that HeadRobots Snake. So jealous!

 

Barricade's lightbar makes a decent enough tongue.

I've got four of these guys now. One I gave to Barricade as a sort of riot shield, one I gave to Skywarp to make up for taking away his Battle Master guns, and one to my Deathcobra. The fourth is chilling by himself as the designated deskbot feely (along with the Decepticon Clones) and it's hard to put him down sometimes.

 

Netflix Rung has a unique blast effect that makes for a convincing tongue...but you would need a custom right angle adapter to work. Nonnef makes some.

I used my own custom one. Another option, although I'm not bored enough to make it yet, would be a right angle peg with one end being 5mm and the other 3mm.

I originally got this to be a Seeker shield and melee weapon like Ivy’s whip from Soul Calibur but instead, I found myself liking this more than I anticipated.

It has now become a pet cobra on the shoulders of my new Doubledealer.

 

I've had a significant crack occur attaching a Slitherfang to Scorponok. Others that I have can attach and come apart easily, so it may have more to do with the individual Slitherfang's tolerances than Scorponok's. It hasn't broken off yet, but I know it's done for if I continue attaching it to other ramps.

 

First, I didn't mean to jack your image Enerjim ( I meant to take a pic of my own yesterday), but can anyone explain these two fastener ports under his hood? They flank the connector ports on the charcoal end of the platform when in snake mode. I noticed this yesterday while fiddling around with him, but I cant seem to figure out their use. Maybe a way to hook it up to something like the Quintesson judge?

7 Slitherfangs and Doublecrosser

 

Finally achieved King Cobra mode! Took a lot of "one-at-a-time" visits to local Targets!

 

Prepare to be disappointed, they're there to hold the "chest" panel in place in snake mode.

 

Only just seen this picture, but it makes me want to see a pic of club Serpentor (Gen Scourge repaint) holding him as a staff!

 

So, having fiddled with the figure through the evening, I'm a little conflicted. On the one hand, Slitherfang is a fun purple robo-cobra, has a very cool blast effect, and he's a new character for once. On the other hand, he has 7 parts and the largest ones are transparent plastic, he can barely do anything since he has little jointing and a very narrow base on which to balance, he doesn't have an opening mouth, the makers mark text is dead center in his chest, his body sports only 2 blast effects points and a single 5mm hole (under his mouth), and he transforms into a shield which is tricky to mount or a ramp which is an embarrassing job. Yet with that in mind, he's somehow charming and fun for display, he's makes a great minion, and he's factionless as he technically serves the Quintessons, yet he's almost identical in colorscheme to Siege Decepticon Barricade.

Oddities:

• his head can't fold all the way into his chest, despite it looking exactly like it does -- that's for shield mode where it folds all the way up instead
• he has more treads on the top of his "body" than the patch that contacts the floor
• despite his upper body being made of transparent plastic, his head is solid opaque gray plastic paint, so his eyes are just painted vivid red instead of light-piping
• Slitherfang can become a very square ouroboros in that the 5mm peg of his tail can fit into the 5mm hole under his mouth

ETA: correction on the comment about the head being opaque plastic, it's just thick and well-applied paint keeping it from being light-piped eyes.

 

Actually the head is transparent purple one of my seven has paint chipping from transformation into shield mode

 

Thanks for the info. I had no idea because it looks so effectively different from the other upper body parts, so I shone a light through and indeed you are correct. That is a real bummer about the paint chipping, is it at the hinge stops or is there another spot to watch for?

 

Yeah at the hinge stops on the top of the head

 

I'm still trying to find one, All my local Target has is Rung.....BORING....
