    It feels premium in hand.

They are also the most productive company.

I don't 'collect' FT toys. I buy from multiple manufacturers, and have several FT designs in my collection. When multiple companies release versions of the same toy, I rely on pictures to decide which version I'll buy. Sometimes I feel FT absolutely nails the design, other times I perceive a competitor's product provides the best representation. I do like FT's support. If you need replacement parts, they are usually easy to deal with and prompt in their service.

I stopped. Used to be weight and looks, but the drop in quality, the insanity of people buying it up instantly, and paint chipping got me out of it. Ended up selling them away and switched to other companies that offer more for what you pay.

    Sculpt, Proportions, Build.

Fans Toys (IMO) have the closest sculpt to what Hasui started the Masterpiece line with. Thats what I prefer. The recent, super articulated, overly flat toon look of today’s MP Line is of little interest to me. I want the characters to look the way I imagined that they would look like if they walked off the screen. Not an exact, direct image.

The Proportions on the bot and altmode tend to be the best. A little heroic rather than a direct translation of the toon. Again, how Hasui made MP-10 more heroic than the cartoon.

FT figures tend to be very sturdy and the diecast gives them a little weight. XTrans and KFC have good sculpts, but many if their releases dont hold up to many transformations and I doubt will hold up over the next 20yrs. Most of the Fans Toys releases (I suspect) will still be excellent representations over several decades. Time will tell of course.

Fans Toys is certainly not perfect and I only Have their Earlier figures. However, I’ll be getting much of their upcoming S1 cast.

Not really any specific companies, but I do like dx9’s recent offerings and zeta’s unicron. Tho not really buying a lot from them. I sort of just buy from anyone who has a good product and cool looking figure that’s worth the price. Idk, I’m not loyal to anyone anymore.

    I have one ft figure.

If their product fits my tastes and price willingness to purchase then I do. If not, I'll find something else.
Obviously only owning 1 shows that that's what I have done.

Because they're the closest to the g1 toons I remember and they have better quality than hastak. Also, I'm still salty about what takara did to mp08.

I like the feel of their products. I have at least one of everything they have done so far although there were a few close calls. I dont know if I will be lucky enough in the future to keep it up but I will probably try.

I only committed to the Stunticons because of their Breakdown/Spoiler. Heft and sculpt are definitely considerations, but the added ab crunch did it for me.

Haven't eyed any other releases besides Dunerider in the near future.

Because "naive" people think that diecast = quality, wich is BULLSHIT... But most of the time they produce the "better" product out of the competition, at leats now..., well, there isn't any major competition other than Xtransbots and sometimes KFC, DX9 and Ocular Max release something for the gewuun stuff...

Fans Toys covers easily 50% of the G1 3P MP spread that TT hasn't. They have reasonable engineering, but nothing breath-taking, which is fine - sometimes what you need is solid, simple designs. They had some face sculpt issues initially (Tesla V1 - oooooooh, and all those Dibot head re-releases in the subsequent releases; they did get it right from about Phoenix onwards), and they have the occasional design whiff (Spindrift V1) along with their own QC gremlins (Sheridan's knee, Blurr's arms, Scoria's chrome horns).

But they are at least honest about it, and support their product very well. They stand nicely beside TT and 3P MP, so it works for me. Arcee will be the first TT swap out from my FT collection.

Fans Toys is the only company that's said they're gonna put out every G1 bot and actually might get it done. If you only collected Fans Toys there's a good chance by the end of masterpiece you'd have the most complete collection of any company.

Just looking roughly at it, looks like Takara AND FT both have around 35 unique characters released from G1 (In the current MP scale and not including repaints unless they're actual characters from the show). Takara has been working in this scale since MP9 in 2011, I think FT really kicked off around 2015 with Quakewave and Scoria. FT has laser vision for exactly what I want, G1 bots with high quality paint and accurate to the toon in both modes. Every other company seems to drift around to other generations and styles.

I only have 2 FT figures, but they feel amazing in hand. They're heavy. I don't care how stupid it is, but heft=quality to my monkey brain so that's why i like them. I used to collect eaglemoss figures until they switched from lead statues to that composite stuff that weighs 1/4 as much. Instantly killed it for me and I don't bother with them anymore.

I buy what I prefer for my collection. FT being when necessary / best option. Try to juggle look vs build vs price. Fanstoys aren't very good transformers (in terms of being over engineered with crap tolerances) but they are aestheticallly stunning and g1 accurate

For Superion, I went with Zeta over FT because I could picture a FT combiner being a disaster. I own Terminus and hate it wish I had gotten one of the other two options (hips sheared off, bad design).

But the Dinobots? Cyclonus? Preceptor? Reflector? Simpler designs with their quality, paint, and look? Instant buys.

I was very interested in their first offerings, Shockwave, Dinobots... They look really nice in both forms (faces apart) and have fun transformations. Nowadays I'm very selective, because I don't like most of their transformations and I don't care about screen accuracy. So I wait for reviews to see the transformation, if I like it then I wait a couple years to buy the reedition :p

So, yeah, I was a fan, but not anymore.

I am getting ready to move out of state in a few months. I recently had to transform all the dinobots to packaging form. Theyre still fun, hefty, look awesome, just...great representations.

Because when they're at the top of their game, they produce something really really good. Releases like roadking and stomp are basically the best things 3p mp have to offer. Granted they've had a ton of lemons as well but its unreasonable to expect every release to be A+ 10/10 when the company is doing this as either a side gig or as a passion project.
