Wow that painted prototype looks wonky, like one of those carnival mirrors.

Why is this called V2? Are they pretending the original V1 didn't exist?

Reading comments about SS his size I'm wondering if I missed a pic? Or is this based on the picture that has Megatron's head in the cornor in what should about be Megatron's height?

Probably the only time the cartoon continuity was adhering to the intended character for Soundwave.

The cartoon showed Soundwave as extremely loyal, but his original bio describes him as merely projecting this. He always puts himself close to the leader, pretends to be loyal to the leader (also because he needs the protection from all the troops he blackmails and who love to get rid of him), but in reality he's looking for any and every opportunity to advance himself. This can be seen especially well in the Marvel UK run and in lesser way in the Marvel US run. Shockwave is in command and Soundwave seems loyal to Shockwave, but when Megatron is reported found he rescues Megatron and also serves as Megatron's second in command. Not out of loyalty, but he's playing them against each other. He knows that ultimately they will fight and afterwards one will be close to death and the other seriously weakened, and that opens the door for him being in command. And indeed, in the Marvel UK run he ends up in command a couple of times and is actually one of the most succesful (if not the most succesful) commanders.

Soundwave wasn't meant to be loyal. He's a blackmailer, a backstabber and an opportunist, who only pretends to be loyal for his own betterment. And the movie is the only time we see this in the cartoon. He knows Megatron is badly damaged and he quickly attempts to become the leader himself. Afterall, Soundwave superior.

I hope Fans Toys engineers their Seeker mold to have FULL wings that hinge a trap door open, and all the pieces of wing kibble hinge&flip INSIDE the wings.

Other then that it looks good. I'll probably get mp2/(mp3) Starscream but since Earthrise came out I'm focusing on all the G1 Earth bots instead. But so far I have all G1 Masterpieces up to MP-44 Prime, minus Hound. I really want Arcee toon smokescreen & Bluestreak. I hope they do mp versions of Galvatron, Scourge, & Cyclonus next.

I'm sure we'll get a MP Rhinox next year too I'm guessing.

Folks, reminder, this is not a speculation thread for future MP’s nor a wishlist for future MP’s. This is for MP Starscream V2. There are dedicated threads on these boards for speculation and wishlists.

Because it’s all new and doesn’t reuse anything from V1 unlike MP-11.

Not to be Debbie Downer went back to look at Arcee
    she was revealed in Feb
Po's went up in may (3 months)
    release in December(7 months)
As optimistic as I have tried to be, we just might not see a full reveal till Figure King next month with Po's in the beginning of October putting us into May.

Yes. That, or he's going to have one messed-up looking cockpit in F-15 mode.

Would be interesting if the faux canopy remains visible underneath in jet mode like how some jets in the 80’s had faux canopies painted on beneath the forward fuselage for visual confusion during ACM

Exactly. As fans of the show in the 80s we didn't have the option to buy toys that really represented the cartoon. It wasn't until MP1 til it really even became a possibility.

I think of him as V2 too. It obviously IS a 3rd Starscream. Mold similarities or not, it's 3 different molds.

    See image

    See image. :)

It's funny those are the same reasons i want cartoon figures. But since we HAD toy looking G1 figures, and didn't have cartoon figures, it surprised me you thought this with this reason. No hate here I'm intrigued actually.

I like the idea someone had on a different page on Takara/Hasbro making articulated G1 Transformers from the original toys. That's what I originally wanted in 2001 when Car Robots was coming to USA. ;)

Yeah, I don't touch my Transformers when I drink, just in case...I do, however, post on here. :lol

If Starscream explodes, wouldn't that be...a supernova?

    ...I'll see myself out now.

MP11 is essentially a facelift of MP03, whereas this is an entirely new figure. So MP11 was V1.5, if you wanna call it that.

Thanks for that info dump! I'll admit I've not ever read the Marvel comics, so that was a lot of new info to me, and it makes things make a fair bit more sense now.

Plenty of time to save...and I guess since I'm planning to wait and see on this release, just in case there's QC issues, May is actually an ideal time since if all goes to plan, I'll be on a fairly expensive trip.

I don't want to rehash the debate, but I think you skipped over/missed my second post that addressed your point above (I was responding to Sam in both posts). The second post was made shortly after my first one:

Since I'm commenting on this, I would add that the idea of updating vintage toy designs with modern sculpting/engineering is nothing new. Hasbro is doing it with Marvel Legends retro tributes to old Toy Biz figures, Bandai has been doing vintage Popy-inspired SOC repaints/resculpts for some years now, and Super 7's entire TMNT line is an homage to the late-80s/early-90s toy line.

All this said with the understanding that there will always be an appetite for cartoon-accurate toys.

I was wondering that, too. :)  (BTW, if your screen name is a reference to the Kore-eda film, that's cool...)

And along the same lines, these seem to be doing well...

Wondering if he’ll have a booklet a la Prime, Megatron, and the Jets before him, or a folded up sheet like the rest, including similar sized MPs like Shockwave, the Vanettes, and the Fusos. I look forward to this kinda thing.

Getting this big production, I would guess the book. Pretty sure the original mp-13 was a book also.

Guessing - and hoping - a book, those are pretty nice and add something. Didn't Grimlock have a book? I'd imagine this will have a book...with some extra pages so they can charge more too! :lol

Oh hell yeah I totall I saw that (I read about 4 or 5 pages past that iirc. (so far lol. This reminds me of the MP-44 & the MPM-4 thread, ect.). I think yours was a really cool post! And liked that you used the same kinda reasons, in a sense, that I did for wanting toon bots since early 00's. I believe thats why I was quoting it. :)

Heh. I noticed you added Origins He-Man in there. I was gonna mention him too but you snuck him in there last minute lol. On articulated G1 remakes, I wanted those back in early 2000 era. Though I called ',em "posable" since I didn't know the word articulated yet. :S Wasn't til 2006 when I got online first time. Yup I was a late bloomer on the internet.

That's right @oku posted that. Word great Prime custom bot!

They should have all gotten the books, going to the sheets was a mistake.
