It honestly started to hook me around episode 8 and the Velocitron flashback. it seemed to slowly get less cringe-y from there.

Oddly enough this show's new quest makes it better now that it's focusing on world building....

Giving the war a break and showing different parts of Cybertron and giving obscure and brand new characters a debut makes this tolerable. The silliness and ongoing "Bumblebee-N-Friends" trend is still holding this show back though. It's also kind of corny that the new ***Spoilers*** that ***Spoiler*** gave are shown being used by Bumblebee more than anyone else every episode.

So just like TF: Animated, a lot of these characters are worthy of the CHUG treatment. Thus giving them more quality molds and making them feel mature while making villains more of a threat and not just a bunch of 2 minute punching bags for Optimus, Bee and Windblade each episode.

    So for me:
    Season 1 = 2/10
    Season 2 = 2.5/10
    Season 3 = 6/10

    So it does get better.

The later seasons were so good that I want to back and give season 1 another watch to see if I like it more now.

I finished this show a while back and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't have ambitions and I kinda like that. It's simple and tons of fun.

There are flaws, though. Some characterizations felt pretty flat (Lockdown and Drift being the worst offenders), some ideas felt shoehorned and really needed more time to bloom (Megatron X was a neat concept, but it felt tacked on and really robbed us of a proper end for normal reality Megatron), the voice acting was a bit iffy at first (but it did improve as the series went on), the ten minute timeframe did limit the series quite a bit and I just didn't like the constant use of time skips (seriously, we skip time between seasons one and two and twice in season three, which leaves some questions unanswered). Also, I felt sometimes it did fall into the same trap as TFA with the fanservicey cameos (the Air Hammers, Injectors and Tarns), but not as much as TFA did, so they were just minor moments of annoyance and at least they did serve a purpose to the stories they were in rather than just standing in the background for no reason at all.

But honestly, I feel the good outweighs the bad. You can tell the people behind Cyberverse just wanted to tell a fun Transformers story with quirky characters and lots of twists and turns as the story progressed.

Optimus and Megatron... I know I shit a lot about their overuse lately, but this series surprised me with their handling. Megatron is a total evil bastard and honestly, I felt Marc Thompson's performance really added a great amount of intensity to the character. And Optimus, although still stoic most of the time, does get a whole episode to show that the reason why he's like that is because he is more of a shutterbug and he isn't used to normal social interactions.

Hot Rod was quite possibly one of my favorite characters in this show. He's handled just as well as he was in seasons three and four of G1 and the Marvel UK comics. He starts off as a Side Burn-esque goofball, but then shows his leadership skills in season three. Honestly, we finally got a properly handled Hot Rod in the 21st century, now can we get a properly handled Rodimus?

Arcee was a fun character, but honestly, sometimes I felt this gal would have worked better as Nautica. She is a very excitable, peppy and party-loving gal. Still, I couldn't complain 'cause it could have been a lot worse (looking at you, Headmasters, IDW, TFA and TFP Arcee), and she did induce quite a few laughs.

Wheeljack reminded me of BoBoBoBo BoBoBo with his performance and he got some of the best episodes in the series. I just love how happy and rambunctious he is.

Starscream is obviously gonna end up being a stand-out for me, and this show is no different. He is so much fun in the show and I absolutely enjoyed seeing him as a Quintesson Judge.

Honestly, I like that the Autobots seem like good pals with each other and really enjoy hanging out and chillin' with one another. And also, thank goodness that we don't have grouch Ratchet anymore. This more good-natured Ratchet is a lot better than what we got in TFA and TFP and I could believe him being the morale booster while repairing bots.

The series also gave us some really fun depictions of Whirl and Rack'n'Ruin, but it also gave us great and interesting new characters like Clobber, Meteorfire and Wildwheel.

So yeah, this show wasn't aiming big and wasn't bringing in false hopes, and it really left me surprised.

In the case of Repugnus and Injector, it felt more genuine than say, Cyberverse Lockdown because a writer got their original toys during development.

Heh, this is really cool. :D

Speaking of which, I did enjoy the addition of Repugnus in season three.

Just curious did the Megatron X or Quintessins being from multiple universes ever appear in another TF continuity or is cyberverse the first to come up with that? I remember in G1 the Quintessons were just aliens

Season 1 - Felt cheap as hell. Hardly any characters except Bumbler, Windy and the palette changed seekers.
Season 2 - Starts good on the moon then devolves into yet another All spark fetch quest. Seriously Animated, Prime, this and probably WFC. The all spark as an object needs to be written out of existence.
Season 3 - The first half was easily the best out of the entire show. Rodimus (Neo) and his cross faction pals fighting the machines in The Matrix Beast Machines. It really mixed things up in a good way. But then the season falters into more random tales and fetch quest nonsense. The finale was weak and rushed as hell.

Overall just watch the first half of Season 3 and just stop after the truce. Discard the rest of the show.

There was a Megatron X in the Beast Wars Transmetals video game, but that's a completely separate character and basically a final boss who came out of nowhere. (Not unlike Cyberverse's Megatron X, now that I think about it.)

I enjoyed cyberverse quite a bit watching through it recently, although the early episodes were a little tough to get through, mainly bumblebee’s often cringy radio clips, but after that it was great. The ending was definitely a lot easier to accept already knowing that there’s those movies coming up.

It looks like it's still there on the official channel Hasbro just replaced the 10 minute episodes with an hour's worth of episodes cut together.

Just watched all of season 3 on dailymotion.com. It was a blast! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I wouldn't mind these character designs supplanting the G1 aesthetic for CHUG toys moving forward. That's something I wasn't able to say about the Animated designs despite loving the fudge outta that show.
