I got an email telling me my G1 reissue has shipped! But then it turned out to be Astrotrain who I finally ordered since I haven't seen him in store in months.

 

Hmm, going to be a while before I see one, but sure, it's good news to see Blaster released.

 

Just found 4 of them in South Florida. Snagged 2

 

Can't wait to go check next week. :3

 

Got one off the shelf at my local Walmart, and his black handle piece is fused with the grey part that’s supposed to flip into the left leg. It won’t telescope down, so it won’t fit in the leg properly. I have the G1 original, so I know how it’s supposed to work. I can’t tell if it’s glued or melted in there or what. I pushed on it so hard I hurt my hand a little.

There were two more Blasters on the shelf yesterday, so I’m hoping to do an exchange, but I’ll be a little pissed when they surely end up just putting this defective one back out on the shelf.

 

We will have to get this comment remembered as a potential defect in the reissue. I would hate to run into this as well since he is the last of my collecting.

 

Have one on order but not trusting Walmart to put it in much other than a plastic bag I ventured out to the two that had them in stock. All 7 boxes on the shelves between the two stores were beat to hell.

 

WTF is up with that, lol. It seems like the first shipment or two of EVERY G1 reissue WM stocks is beat to hell and smashed. I saw two Blasters at my nearest store a couple days ago...both boxes were smashed. I laughed right there in the toy aisle. Like a “MYAH HA HA HA HA” Skeletor laugh. There was also a smashed case of Skeletors.

 

I almost grabbed one, but really no reason since the thing is staying sealed and the only real draw for me is the box. I'll hope the one they ship to me (if they don't cancel the order) isn't crushed, or I stumble upon a decent one.

 

I think Walmart has learned that stuff like this sells based on desperation. So, they take the worst looking & advance it first to guarantee sale before the bulk arrives & condition matters. Then they clearance off the rest as its discovered.

Yes, this implies Walmart is thinking but, they ARE a billion dollar company so money IS being made.

Walmart could sell Sherman tanks and half of them would arrive damaged.

 

The last time I had to return a defective toy, I stuck a Post-It Note inside the box between the toy and the window that clearly said Defective in the hopes that it would prevent that from happening, or alternatively get missed and then customers could see the note and leave it on the shelves until a more diligent employee noticed. For all I know the note got found and thrown away and the item put back on the shelf, but I thought it was worth a shot.

Any photos of it? From the very few I've seen, I didn't particular notice a color change.

Odd not sure why my comment double posted. Anyways no I didn’t take a picture. I went in to buy it but left it after seeing that. You couldn’t miss it as it wasn’t even remotely silver in color. The yellow and orangish red looked great but the tan was just not even close to being right.

 

I will leave my preorder up then on the website. Just thought I could pick it up faster locally but don’t want it if it looks like that. Reminded if someone mixed in a bunch of brown in the silver.

 

Just had my pre-order cancelled. I havent had time to go to WM to look for one on shelves (plus didnt think i needed to since I had it preordered since late June).
Plus I'm pretty patient so I figured it would get to me eventually.
This reminds me of when I had all of my minibot preorders cancelled.
WM really sucks at these G1 exclusive releases.

Did anyone else have their order cancelled?

 

Had mine cancelled a few minutes ago and reordered on WM site to have it shipped by Friday. Dumb.
