Not just you. I quite like NA Jazz in bot-mode. He's got longer-looking legs than the Datsuns and lacks the door wings that make the Datsuns look wider than they are (which contributes to their squat appearance). He's not perfect, but I would have no reservations about the NA Datsuns if they looked as good.

 

jazz is definitely the better of the NA carbots. the rest look just too squat chibi.

 

I like both NA & MS Datsuns; they both have they positive and negative points. I like NA did a toy version Bluestreak; he sits next to his WST counterpart. I wish NA had released a few more variations of Smokescreen though.

I thought MS Bluestreak was one of their best carbots. I would definitely double on Prowl.

I won't double dip on every bot, but NA makes it easier with their various decos.

So I'm brand new to the third party area and just got my first pair of legends and one but ordered, MS Megatron and Optimus and Comic Soundwave. I got this one sheet of decepticon symbols and whenever I put them on it looks horrible. Attached are pics I took with it, I ended up trying to fix it with cutting the boarders off with an xacto.
I ordered the reprolabel clean cartoon symbols, white backed decepticon symbols, should they look better than what I already have?

 

I believe it will be an improvement

Was getting a MFT Ultra Magnus off a eBay seller a good idea?
I just know a lot of scams can be on eBay

 

Depends on who you bought it from. If bababobo or hzj401, you're good. If not, cross your fingers!  

 

as long as the seller has decent feedback you should be fine. lots of guys buy from ebay sellers with no problems.

the top half of NA Jazz looks great to me. But I think his feet are too big.

I hide their chibi feet behind omega’s wings, and put them on a little box to hide their height discrepancy.

 

Reprolabels Decepticon symbols generally suck. Once you get them down, they're near impossible to adjust (like all stickers), but my biggest gripe is they don't cut out the gray outline between the points of the symbol. Looks terrible in my opinion. I was cutting them out by hand until I discovered water slides (soak in water, slide off the backing, place and they're adjustable until the water dries) or dry rubs (cut out a square around the symbol, peel off the top (you get the clear square and symbol attached to it), place in the right location, rub it and it'll stick. Both can be found pretty easily on ebay (hzj has dry rubs, ocean and others make good water slides). I tend to prefer the color on the dry rubs, but water slides are okay too. The only thing I use Reprolabels are for large symbols (they cut the points out on the big ones) and extremely small ones (for MS Tapes / NA Bots or Insecticons) - they're the only option at that size, and the outline isn't as noticeable.

 

Combiner Wars / Feral Rex. The only other options out there are Hulkie, IF Bruticus, The DJD Combiner, and Huge Dragon. I'll deal with Hulkie in bot mode since CW bots are too big, but combined mode is a crapfest compared to KBB Devy. And I'm not really a fan of the IDW look so I passed on IF. No real attachment to DJD either. TFC and MP combiners give you bigger combined modes if you want, but I prefer them sized around 12". I do have my eye on the MS Stunticons though. All modes look great, and even though he's too small for me in combined mode, he'll make a great standalone Menasor.

 

as a car guy, it pained me so much to see how MS treated the very beautiful Datsun/Nissan Fairlady Zed. it is a piece of turd compared to NA. i went for the bot mode with MS because one of my legends set have MS for the carbots, the other have NA for the carbots. i'm still meaning to get the IronTrans one for my legends+ lineup. yes, I have 3 legends lineup - legends+, regular legends, an smaller legends.

 

NA Jazz is near perfect for me. i couldn't get enough of the toon version, even more with the Porsche - Martini version! my only gripe are the rear spoilers. i thought that could still be folded up towards the calf for more space at the back, especially when you have a tight display. whoever is standing behind Jazz is bound to get cut by those wings LOL it's a shin slicer!

Nope, they're from the Transformers Cyberverse: Battle For Cybertron Sharkticons Attack Set Out at U.S. Retail - Transformers News - TFW2005 set that came out last year. Who would have thought I'd find a way to mix MMC and Cyberverse lol.

 

yes, that's exactly how i feel. just can't understand how MS could have gotten the proportions and the sleek lines of the datsun so wrong. to me the datsun is iconic, and it was a huge draw to me as a kid to collect the G1 prowl. it was damn sexy! MS butchered alt mold so badly that it's shameful. and the bad alt look carries over since the chest and feet are so prominent in bot mode.  

not sure how likely it would be, but my hope is that MS got enough constructive criticism of the poorly executed mold and that is what stalled the release of the rest of the datsons so they can reworking and improve it for a re-release.
